The Destruction of the U.S. Military

Political correctness will be the death of us. In the military, the latest pc exercise is dropping Don't ask/Don't tell and letting gays and lesbians serve openly in the military. It's a bad idea and has the potential to further devastate our ability to protect ourselves in a dangerous world. Only the Marine Corps is holding out. The Navy is the worst, I'm sad to say since I have a nephew serving and my dad was career Navy and a Pearl Harbor survivor. What would Daddy say if he were alive to see these clowns in stars and bars talking about how diversity is so good for us. Tell that to the families of the dead at Fort Hood.

But like every other aspect of our culture, the military reflects the same corruption. Someone should remind these clowns that messing with the Roman legions by admitting barbarian tribesmen was one of the reasons the Roman Empire collapsed. Between the hedonism of our ruling elites; the destruction of our institutions; and the infiltration of gays, lesbians, and Islamic militants into the military; and the bread and circuses of our welfare/lust-addicted society we are well on the way to repeating the folly of Rome. Ah, but we do it with such flare. Rome's emperors could never compete with the first couple. They didn't have teleprompters, trainers, and a worshiping media to spin the news.

Don’t Ask Don’t Tell: The Battle Was Lost Long Ago

  1. More bad news on the military -- according to the Washington Post, it's now stocking the "Plan B" birth control pill in its health-care facilities! And I think that's even more important than the gay issue!

However, I do wonder myself about your reasoning of not repealing "don't ask, don't tell" because even non-gay hedonists can freely serve and freely say that they are hedonists in the military, while gays can't do so. It's just that it isn't really like gay marriage, which is more sacramentally related than the military (not that I support gay marriage by any means!).

Would you like to explain that to me and the rest of us?

  2. At present don't ask, don't tell is the best we can get. I frankly think gays should be banned from the military altogether as they were before Bill Clinton changed the policy.

The purpose of the military is to fight and defend the country. It's not a place for social experiments. Anything that damages the cohesion of the troops or puts them in additional danger is stupid.

How would you like to be a guy living in a barracks with open showers with a couple of gays who look at you as a sex object? What if they look for opportunities to be with you in the open shower and you can see a physical demonstration of their lust. The current policy doesn't protect men from rape by men, but at least it leads to dismissal if someone flaunts their perversion.

Read this story about Cody Openshaw raped by a male superior. http://hamptonroads.com/2009/10/military-men-are-silent-victims-sexual-assault. It cites a 2007 Veterans Administration study: "According to a 2007 study by a team of VA researchers, a nationwide screening of veterans seeking VA services turned up more than 60,000 with sexual trauma. More than half of those - nearly 32,000 - were men."

The gay ban should be reinstated. The situation should certainly not be liberalized.
