Look East! Jesus is Coming.

Cardinal Sarah asks priests to start celebrating Mass facing east this Advent
The sun rises in the east. Every morning the sun reminds us that the Son of God will return. And so, in the liturgical tradition we always faced east (or at least liturgical east) until the madhouse after Vatican II when liturgical traditions were flung out the window in favor of clown and polka Masses and liturgical disorientation.

Now, the prefect for the Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship, Cardinal Robert Sarah, is calling all priests to return to practicing the ad orientem tradition of facing liturgical east. Let's pray they follow.

This is NOT, as the dissenters whine, the priest turning his back on the people. It is the shepherd leading the sheep, or, in the militaristic sense, the battalion commander leading his troops into battle against evil. We are, after all, the Church Militant, fighting Satan and his minions to free the poor deluded souls he's enslaved.

The Advent hymn reminds us, "People look east," and so Cardinal Sarah calls for all priests to return to this practice by the first Sunday of Advent, the beginning of the Church year. And what a year with the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions coming. I wonder, did the Blessed Mother approach from the east when she came to the children? Do any of my readers know? The little ones could often see the flash of light. Some of the crowd describe seeing a kind of cloud rest over the holm oak.

Get ready for exciting events ahead. The fact that evil seems to be increasing means that grace will be poured out abundantly. That's a biblical promise: "Where sin abounds, grace does more abound." (Romans 5:20)

Beg for all the graces that are rejected by the mass of mankind who refuse to turn to God. Let no opportunity for grace pass you by. And let us all recommit ourselves to the sacraments, the rosary, and all the sacramental aids and devotion that the Church offers us. Let us bless our homes with holy water and pray for all the souls who enter through our doors. Let's arise every morning in hope knowing that God will never abandon us.

May Jesus Christ be praised! And may Mary, the terror of demons and protector of her beloved children, be ever by our sides.

  1. She went back toward the east so she must have arrived from that direction.
