Five Bishops Skipped the CCHD Collection

Kudos to the five bishops who nixed the Catholic Campaign for Human Development Collection in their dioceses two Sundays ago. They included Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Nebraska; Bishop Victor Galeone of St. Augustine, Florida; Bishop John O. Barres of Allentown, Pennsylvania; Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison, Wisconsin; and Bishop Robert J. Baker of Birmingham, Alabama.

Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz explains why there was no CCHD collection in his diocese this year

Spanish Bishops: Politicians Who Vote for Anti-Life Law are not to Receive Communion

More Discrimination Against Christians

So, you think you have religious freedom? Think again if the government decides your right to exercise your religion conflicts with its diversity policies. Homosexual rights trump everything these days and that's the way the activists want it. Evil is NEVER content with the right to exercise its evil freely. It must ALWAYS force those who call it evil to endorse it. So Christians, gird your loins for the growing persecution. Like Jesus said, "For if in the green wood they do these things, what shall be done in the dry?" The wood is as dry as dust and ready for the conflagration. But the only fire that has the power to destroy us both body and soul is the fire of the Holy Spirit. So hold fast to the truth.

Write a Novel in a Month! Are You Crazy?

At the urging of my brother, I joined the nanowrimo challenge to write a novel in a month during November. Today is crunch day and I have 3,000 words left which is a pretty easy target for the day. Of course, you come out not with a completed novel, but with a first draft. This may be the dumbest thing I've ever written; I'm not confident that it's any good at all but it's been an interesting exercise. Besides writing is never a waste, it's good practice.

But a funny thing happened to me on the way to a plot. At the end of October I was wondering what I could possibly write about. I know so little about almost everything and then the lightbulb went on. I know a lot about right-to-life issues. I'd have a guy in a coma whom everyone considered unconscious who heard everything that was going on. I wrote the first chapter with him observing what was happening in the room and decided it would be hard to write an entire first-person novel that was limited to a hospital room or what others said in a hospital room. So that led me to go back and forth between a first person narrator who is essentially invisible to everyone around him and a third person narrative for the other chapters.

About three weeks into the writing I had a Twilight Zone experience when the story broke about Rom Houban, the man who's been in a coma for two decades and was awake and aware the entire time even though his body was paralyzed and he'd been designated a vegetable. (Children, pay attention. I am holding a carrot. It is a vegetable. Little Johnny, please come to the front of the room. Now, Class, can you tell the difference between the carrot and Johnny? Very good! You are smarter than many doctors!)

Talk about eerie. I had my Rom Houban even before I knew there was a Rom Houban.

At that point I was way behind in word count, but Houban's story gave me the incentive to continue writing. It's been an interesting exercise since I mostly write non-fiction. I never thought I could even begin to write a novel - even a bad one. I started out with about a dozen characters in search of a plot which developed as I wrote. The characters seemed to take on a life of their own in fact. Some I liked and some I thought I liked until they did something despicable. (Wow! I didn't know he was capable of that. What a creep!)

It gave my husband and me interesting dinner conversation for the month. What exactly am I writing about anyway? Shall I turn it into a murder mystery with the main character killed by morphine in the IV? Will his son and his sister sue the wife to get his medical power of attorney so they can cut off food and water? And what happened to the youngest daughter who went back to school in the second chapter and just disappeared from the book?

Well, I'm down to the wire so I'd better get back to it. I still can't believe I'm going to finish since I had grandkids for a four day weekend mid-month and a houseful for four days at Thanksgiving. But the end is in sight and I'm a fast writer so unless lightening strikes my computer I'm confident I'll be done long before the deadline at midnight.

And even if I never publish it I can check "write a novel" off my to-do-before-I-die list.

Will You Keep Advent Well?

Today is black Friday and millions of people are out at the mall doing their "holiday" shopping. Some are picking out their "holiday" trees (if they aren't up already). Some real early birds had their outside decorations up weeks ago. (I've seen them!)

So my question today is "Will you keep advent?"

The word advent comes from the Latin "adventus" meaning "coming."

Christmas is the destination but there is meaning in the coming to it. If you were starting on a cross-country car trip from northern Virginia with a destination in California would you ignore everything on the way? Of course not. You would pick out the northern or southern route and mark all the interim destinations on the way. Perhaps you'd plan to go through Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon. Maybe you'd want to stop at the Alamo or the badlands. How many would drive straight through without a single exciting stop along the way?

And that's how it should be with our journey from the first Sunday of Advent to Christmas Day. It's a time to pause at some of the important events that led up to that first Christmas in the stable at Bethlehem. Thinking about the important ancestors on Jesus' family tree, like Noah, Abraham, Moses, King David, Ruth, Joseph, and Mary, reminds us how God prepared his people from the day Adam and Eve rebelled until the day the angels announced the birth of the Savior to the shepherds.

If you leap to Christmas without experiencing the wonders of Advent you'll miss the growing brightness in the east from the rising Son. You will be celebrating the season like the secular world does as one more excuse for Hallmark cards, parties, and turkey dinner. But the richness of Advent's liturgical meaning makes Christmas much more than a secular holiday. It's a day of wonder, the birthday of the king, "with royal beauty bright."

So keep Advent well. Follow the star with the three kings for a truly brilliant Christmas Day!

Experience with your family some of the wonderful Advent traditions to make Christmas more than a day of food and gifts.

One Good Effect of the Economic Downturn

A big problem in the Catholic Church (IMHO) in the United States is the overgrown bureaucracy. At the national level, the USCCB (bishops' conference) resembles the evil organization in C.S. Lewis' novel, That Hideous Strength. At the local level many bishops put layer upon layer between themselves and their people (not to mention their priests). Chanceries over the years have grown faster than Topsy.

In my own diocese (Arlington) under our previous bishop, the chancery occupied two stories (out of six) in a building adjacent to the cathedral. It now fills most of the building. One wonders whether all the bureaucracy really contributes to the growth of the faith or is it just one more example of the Church imitating the secular world to the detriment of the faith? The principle of subsidiarity says issues should be solved at the lowest level possible, in other words, a bottoms up approach (with regard to administration, not doctrine). But huge chanceries increase the top down style of administration and governance and that ain't the way it's supposed to be!

The only good thing about the economic problems in the Church is that it's causing the bureaucracy to shrink. May the USCCB which is filled with radical leftists working against the faith shrink to nothing!

Whispers in the Loggia reports on chancery layoffs:
As the latest national figures report unemployment approaching the 2 million mark, the economic downturn has begun hitting the chanceries: layoffs were recently announced in the archdioceses of St Louis (25 positions -- 6% of its central work-force) and the diocese of Yakima, where half its 32 chancery posts will be eliminated.

$1.3 million deficit in Oakland diocese likely to result in chancery layoffs

Catholic Charities, which in many ways isn't Catholic at all, is also laying off. One hopes that a poorer Church will be a more faithful one. Love of money is the root of all evils and sadly there's been plenty of evidence over the years that some churchmen were more interested in doing the will of the almighty dollar than the will of Almighty God! Let's pray for a change. That's a change all faithful Catholics can hope for.

Islam: How Threatened are We by the "Religion of Peace?"

I've been doing a lot of research on Islam lately because of the connections between an Islamic mosque in Falls Church, VA known as a hotbed of terrorism and an Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) network started in my diocese by a couple of liberal priests that includes the mosque and a number of "progressive" jewish and protestant churches. In the process I also got in the middle of a somewhat contentious discussion about Islam on an email list at my parish church.

What I'm finding is that there are plenty of folks out there claiming to stand for one thing who may actually stand for another. How does one separate truth from propaganda?

Let me give a specific example. One of the liberal priests running the IAF affiliate which is called VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement) organized an interfaith discussion with an imam, a priest, and a rabbi ostensibly to increase understanding. I didn't go. Since I can't trust the priest and I know he's connected to the radical mosque and progressive jewish, I suspect the meeting is biased from the git-go, so why waste my time making the nearly four hour round trip? Not interested.

Someone who did go recommended a book by John L. Esposito, What Everyone Needs to Know About Islam. Esposito teaches at Georgetown (another place that can't be trusted.) where he is the Director of the Saudi-financed Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding which was founded at Georgetown in 1993 and has received $20 million from the Saudi prince for whom it is named. Now what does the prince expect to get for his hunk of change, one wonders? Would one expect a group financed by Stalin to be a heavy critic of communism?

Last year, Congressman Frank Wolf asked for an investigation into how the money was being spent. It is especially problematic in view of the fact that Georgetown trains many foreign service officers.

According to an article by the Investigative Project:
Wolf's letter seeks assurances the Georgetown center "maintains the impartiality and integrity of scholarship that befits so distinguished a university as Georgetown." He then asks whether:

• "the center has produced any analysis critical of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for example, in the fields of human rights, religious freedom, freedom of expression, women's rights, minority rights, protection for foreign workers, due process and the rule of law."

• "the center has examined Saudi links to extremism and terrorism, including the relationship between Saudi public education and the Kingdom-supported clerical establishment, on the one hand, and the rise of anti-American attitudes, extremism and violence in the Muslim world, on the other."

• "the center has examined or produced any critical study of the controversial religious textbooks produced by the government of Saudi Arabia that have been cited by the State Department, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and non-governmental groups for propagating extreme intolerance."

• "any of the Saudi-sourced finds have been used in the training, briefing or education of those going into or currently employed by the U.S. government.

The article raises serious questions about Esposito's neutrality which are brought into further question by an article at Progressive Conservative USA which described a speech given by Esposito at Stanford in February 2008. Esposito appears to have his own ax to grind and if I read his book it will be with a healthy dose of skepticism.

I'm in the process of reading two other books on Islam: Londonistan by Melanie Phillips, a columnist for London's Daily Mail writing about the growth of Islamic extremism in Great Britain among native born british Muslims and Infiltration by Paul Sperry with the subtitle, How Muslim Spies and Subersives Have Penetrated Washington. I'm mindful of the fact that Phillips is Jewish which may color her views on the subject. But I'm afraid that what may be the most dangerous these days is a naive trust. Islam failed to overrun Europe in the middle ages due to the first crusade. The United States may not be so fortunate.

Eucharistic Procession for the Feast of Christ the King

God bless those bishops of Kansas City! 22,000 young people follow the King of King and Lord of Lords. See more pictures here.

Bishop Tobin vs Kennedy with vapid commentary from Fr. Tom Reese

Bishop Thomas Tobin has instructed Patrick Kennedy to refrain from receiving Communion. While Kennedy says the bishop has instructed priests in the diocese not to give him the Sacrament, the chancery says the bishop has never addressed the issue with his priests. Other Catholic politicians privately instructed by their bishops have essentially thumbed their noses and continued to present themselves at the altar. Whether Kennedy will obey or flaunt the bishop's admonition, time will tell. It appears he is trying to make himself a martyr to gain sympathy from the secular world, a big mistake considering they have no vote on Judgment Day.

The controversy has put another figure in the limelight as well. An article from the Providence Journal quoted Fr. Tom Reese on the controversy:
“The vast majority of bishops don’t want people denied Communion” over the abortion issue, said Thomas J. Reese, a Jesuit scholar at the Woodstock Theological Center in Washington. [The "vast majority" also covered up the priest sex abuse issue so what's your point?] “But the problem is, every time an individual bishop does it — especially if the public official has a high-profile name like Kennedy — it’s going to make headlines across the country and every bishop is going to suffer because of it,” Father Reese said. [Good bishops doing the right thing does tend to make the bad ones "suffer" -- like the bishops in Henry VIII's England who must have been very put out by Bishop John Fisher's martyrdom revealing their cowardly infidelity!]....
Scholar Reese said the bishops have debated in previous years the issue of whether they should step beyond such appeals to the individual Catholic’s conscience. The context for the debate was the 2004 presidential candidacy of Sen. John F. Kerry, a Catholic Democrat from Massachusetts who supports abortion rights. Father Reese said fewer than 20 bishops supported a policy of denying Communion to such officials.[Faithful disciples are almost always in the minority. Look at the apostles!]...

In 2004, a large majority of bishops “tried to persuade the minority not to do this — using Communion as a weapon,” Father Reese said, but the conference could not come to a consensus view on the issue. [It's not a "weapon" any more than the surgeon's scalpel. It's a medicinal treatment to call back a soul in serious danger of damnation.]
Father Reese stressed that withholding Communion is not as grave a penalty as excommunication, which separates a Catholic from all the sacraments. If a bishop denies Communion to a Catholic, he or she “is still a Catholic,” Father Reese said. Indeed, he said “it would take a canon lawyer” to say whether a Catholic denied Communion in his own diocese would be free to receive Communion elsewhere. [Excuse us, Fr. Reese, but the Canon Law already exists -- 915 which forbids Communion to those "who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin." A number of Vatican officials including Cardinal Francis Arinze, Archbishop Raymond Burke, and indeed, the pope himself when he was head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, have called for the penalty to be imposed.]

Reese's position is not surprising. The former editor of the liberal Jesuit magazine America (He resigned under Vatican pressure.) can always be counted on to put a heterodox spin on any story relating to the U.S. bishops' exercising their obligation under canon law to discipline "manifest public sinners." A fellow blogger described Fr. Reese as a "disingenuous, lying jerk" last May when Fr. Reese attacked the orthodox bishops who dared to criticize the reprehensible action of Notre Dame in honoring President Obama. While I prefer not to call names, I'd have to say that CMR has his adjectives absolutely right. Liars and disingenuous men in roman collars are the favorite commentators of the mainstream media. They can always be depended on when it comes to attacking the good bishops and holding up the wolves as models of christianit - just what the media is looking for.

Fr. Reese, you ought to notice that no one who really cares about the faith is listening to your vapid stupidity. You do, however, scandalize the many who are poorly catechized which is a millstone offense.

But Fr. Reese's behavior is worse than stupidity. Embracing the lie that allows the murder of millions of babies makes him a cooperator in a crime against humanity that has taken the lives of more innocents than all the atrocities of the 20th century combined. Like Joseph Goebbles, who cast Hitler's murders in a favorable light, Fr. Reese does the same for Barack Obama while he attacks the bishops who attempt to defend the innocent. God help you, Fr. Reese! You will answer for every innocent life murdered under the banner of Obama/Pelosi liberalism.

Feast of Christ the King

The last Sunday of the liturgical year is the Feast of Christ King. It comes after several weeks of reflecting on the last things and the end of the world. None of us knows the day or the time, so we are called to be prepared at all times. Don't let the King come and find us unprepared. If it's been a long time since you went to Confession consider going this week as a way to end the old year in thanksgiving for God's goodness and to prepare for the first Sunday of Advent next week, a new beginning.

Administration Endangers Americans: Send Eric Holder Back to Law 101

Terrorists should be tried under military law. The administration's decisions to send five terrorists to New York to be tried under civilian criminal law is insanity. Obama has already compromised the trial by saying that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind behind 9/11, will be tried, convicted, and executed. How can the man get the "fair trial" assured to him under American law? He and his cohorts are being treated like American citizens instead of like enemy combatants. Obama has set up a situation where these men may very well get off on technicalities. Is he just plain stupid or is it deliberate? Hard to imagine the man described as the smartest president we've ever had being so dumb or so crazy. So what's the alternative? Crazy like a fox?

Rasmussen Tracking Poll, President Sinks to Lowest Level Yet!

The Rasmussen Poll is one of the most accurate polsters in the country. They're often spot on with predictions of election turnouts. One of their services is a daily tracking poll of the president's "approval index."

When Obama took office his approval rating was +28 and he stayed in the plus column, although gradually going downhill, until June. Since then he has been sinking like a lead balloon. In the last few days his approval index has reached its lowest at -14. Gallup also reports an approval rating below 50%. The American people are waking up and realizing the "change" they got means no "hope" for many in our culture including the unborn, the elderly, the handicapped, and workers.

Got Class? Slovenly as Chic? First First Lady to Wear Shorts on Air Force One

How should the first family present themselves in public? Does it make a difference if they are heading out on vacation to the Grand Canyon or is there even a standard for vacation casual? Do we want to see the First Lady in a bikini at the beach, for example? How about a thong bikini? Clothes may not make the man (or woman) but they do say something about how the first couple sees the office of the presidency. Judging from the Obamas year to date, I'd say the presidency is their personal playground. Bill Clinton treated it the same way, but at least he dressed the part.

CCHD Battle Goes On!

Conning the conservatives

But Islam is a "Religion of Peace"

Ariz. woman allegedly hit with car by Iraqi father dies

We hear the mantra repeated over and over: "Islam is a religion of peace." But the stories of violence, allowed under Sharia law and the Koran, proliferate. Especially heinous are the honor killings where fathers kill their own children for perceived violations. Women are second class citizens, to be sure. According to Paul Sperry's book, Infiltration, the Dar al Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, VA has a separate back entrance for women who aren't allowed to worship with the men. (Perhaps they have separate water fountains and lunch counters as well.) Sharia Law allows the "honor killing" this father committed against his daughter.

When I was working at AAA Women for Choice in Manassas, we had a teenage Muslim client who didn't want an abortion, but feared being murdered by her family. We were trying to find her a safe house. All this from the "religion of peace."

If a Catholic father killed his daughter because she was behaving in an immoral way, the media would play it up for weeks. But Muslim honor killings are given little attention because exposing them violates the politically correct mantra of Islam as a "religion of peace."

Islam allows husbands to beat their wives, fathers to kill their children, and followers of Allah to kill "infidels," i.e., unbelievers. Some relgion of peace! Muslims who convert to Christianity have to watch their backs because converts are subject to execution by the "religion of peace." Pray for the safety of Muslim converts and for more conversions to the true religion of peace under Jesus Christ the king! Our Lady of Fatima, pray for them.

One More Time: Boycott the CCHD!

Obama's policies: speed for government takeovers, delay investigating terrorism

Obama gets delay of Fort Hood probe

When is a delay really an attempt to sweep the truth under the rug? The more that comes out about the Fort Hood killings the more it appears the policy of political correctness has infiltrated the military and is endangering our servicemen and women. Why aren't the military allowed to carry weapons on base? How many would have been saved if even one of those being attacked had been armed and able to shoot Hasan as he carried out his carnage? The insanity of filling the military with Muslim recruits whose religion celebrates the killing of infidels as we go to war with Muslim nations is insane. Not that every Muslim is a terrorist, but it's like filling the military with members of the Black Panthers or the Weathermen whose beliefs are rooted in violence and hatred of America.

It simply isn't worth the risk. Can you imagine what this is doing to unit cohesiveness? If you were in the military and your partner in the foxhole was a "devout Muslim" wouldn't you be a little afraid that your back might be the target rather than the Muslim guerrillas?

Some things never change - pro-aborts are still liars!

Bring out the bloody coathanger. That's what the pro-abortion harpies are doing in their effort to defeat the Stupak amendment to the health care bill. Will the amendment make abortion illegal? No! But pro-aborts will never be satisfied until every pro-lifer in the country is forced to pay to kill babies. What about choice you ask? No choice but pro-choice for these babes. And, as we all know "choice" means "abortion." It's never been about the option to choose life.

Let me be clear. The Obama/Pelosi health care bill stinks even with the amendment. It provides no conscience protection for health care workers, includes massive funding of immoral sex educaion for kids, will result in health care rationing, and is just plain bad. But it sure is interesting to see the fight exposing exactly who the radicals are.

Catholic Family Illustrates What it Means to Love Our Neighbor!

This is a video about a Virginia Catholic family who is a real example of what love is! Thanks for the example, Shak and Robin.

Heroes to Remember: Ed Freeman, November 20, 1927 – August 20, 2008

This story has been travelling around the internet since August, but it seems especially appropriate to post it at this time between Veterans Day when we honor our military and Thanksgiving when we express our gratitude for our blessings. Ed Freeman is one of those blessings. Ed would have been 81 this Friday, but the day of the assault he was a thirty something army captain, a helicopter pilot who put the welfare of men in the field above his own. When his commander, Major Bruce Crandall, asked for volunteers to fly into the battle zone, bring out the wounded, and deliver much needed ammunition and supplies, Ed responded. If you want to know more about these two courageous men get the 2002 Mel Gibson film, We Were Soldiers, based on the book, We Were Soldiers Once and Young.

Ed Freeman made 14 trips into that war zone hell; Bruce Crandall made 22. They certainly illustrate Jesus' statement, "No greater love is there than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends." Say a prayer of thanksgiving for real super-heroes like Ed and Bruce.

November 11, 1965. LZ X-ray, Vietnam.

You're a 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley. Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again.

As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day. Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter. You look up to see an unarmed Huey. But ... it doesn't seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you.

He's not Medi-Vac so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway. Even after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway. And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.

Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses. And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!! He took about 30 of you and your buddies out who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died last August at the age of 80, in Boise, Idaho. May God Rest His Soul.

I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing, but we've sure seen a whole bunch about Michael Jackson.

Shame on the American media !!!

Jesus: the Kind of Capitalist We Should All Imitate

Unbridled capitalism makes the worker nothing but a slave to the boss to be paid the least amount of money for the most work.

Socialism makes the worker a slave to the state to have no choices but to work for the government which controls his wages and every other aspect of his life.

Jesus, on the other hand, was the kind of capitalist who endorses a living wage and is generous with his money.

Read Jesus was a Capitalist for an interesting Sunday meditation.

Ave Maria Stoops to New Low by Banning Journalist from Property

Ave Maria Town is the home of Catholic journalist Marielena Montesino de Stuart. It's also home to Ave Maria University, the school founded by Tom Monahan, the Domino's Pizza giant. Since its founding the university has been beset by problems related to its iron-fisted handling of a number of situations. First it was moving from Ann Arbor, MI and breaking promises to numerous faculty and staff there. Then it was demanding the move of the law school which not only broke more promises, but destroyed its excellent standing and threatened its accreditation. Ave Maria fired Fr. Joseph Fessio - twice, the second time during summer vacation apparently to avoid student protests and adverse publicity.

With Mrs. de Stuart, the iron fist is up close and personal. The university has banned her from its property. But much of Ave Maria town belongs to the university so the de Stuart family who live there are forbidden from their own neighborhood. FOX news covered the story which described how her children are now afraid to leave the house. Makes one thrilled at the thought of living in that town, doesn't it?

That this type of action could take place at a campus founded specifically to advance orthodox Catholicism is shocking, but it's become typical of how Ave Maria operates. Fr. Fessio was fired (the second time) because he PRIVATELY took concerns about the financial stability of the university to the head of the board of directors. Obviously the stability of Ave Maria town is directly related to the health of the university, so Mrs. de Stuart's concern is well founded.

Ave Maria's unchristian behavior has brought criticism from notable Catholics like eminent lawyer Charles Rice and others. The destruction of the Ave Maria Law School and the treatment of several of the faculty members is, as Rice puts it, "beyond contempt."

My husband and I welcomed Ave Maria with outstretched arms. We signed up for the Founders' Club and began giving a monthly donation. When things started to come apart early on we reluctantly withdraw. We felt the blow to the law school in Ann Arbor personally because we knew several friends with children there.

Those who criticize Ave Maria and have any connections at all that make them vulnerable to the wrath of Tom Monaghan can expect reprisal. Marielena Montesino de Stuart settled in Ave Maria Town with high hopes that it would be a truly Catholic experience. What's happening to her now sounds like hell. That it is being done in the name of a university named after the Blessed Mother is not only appalling, but a crucifixion.

Tom Monaghan seems like a sincere man who wants to spend his fortune doing good. De Stuart doesn't question the motives of him or anyone involved in the Ave Maria venture, but one can't help but wonder that a man, who claims he divested himself of his luxuries to pursue a Catholic vision has gone about it like a tyrant. One thing that makes me scratch my head about his comments on pride is the fact that he designed the church for the town. What exactly qualifies the pizza king to design a church, which has been widely criticized. View the videos below and judge for yourself what's

Pray for all who have been hurt during the building of this so-called Catholic University and town and pray especially for Tom Monaghan. A man with money who can call the shots that impact people's lives had better be sure he's doing God's will.

Enabling Jihad: How Liberal Elites Endanger American Lives

In case Americans haven't noticed the Jihad is alive and well in the U.S. The Fort Hood shooting last week and the execution of the Beltway sniper a few days ago should remind Americans that terrorism as easy as a zealot with a gun and a fervent conviction that Allah calls him to kill. And now President Obama has decided that the mastermind behind 9/11 will be given a trial in New York by a civilian court instead of trial by a military tribunal. The insanity of letting this fanatical murderer grandstand in front of the media cameras will only be appreciated when he encourages his followers to imitate his actions.

Meanwhile the liberal talking heads on CNN and MSNBC as well as the mainstream media continue their politically correct banter making it likely that more Americans will die in the future from the "religion of peace."

Novena beginning today for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development

The Catholic Media Coalition is urging a double novena beginning today to pray for the reform of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and the conversion of heart of all those involved.

Novena (combination Novenas) to begin TODAY- November 13,2009 (Fri. 13th) and ending on November 21, 2009- Feast of the Presentation of The Blessed Virgin Mary - November 22, 2009 - Our Lord Jesus Christ the King.

Let us pray for true and meaningful reform. Please join the novena. You can do the short version by saying the prayers with an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be or the longer version joining the prayers to Mary's rosary. But please pray for the Lord to guide the outcome of next week's collection. To download a coupon to put in the basket next week go here. The greatest evil attacking the poor is the assault on the family. Let us pray for meaningful change that protects the poor family from abuse and manipulation, particularly its weakest members.

The Election in New York's 23rd District Isn't Over Yet!

This just in from the "Ain't Life Interesting" department. Apparently, Doug Hoffman may be the real winner after all. Let's hear it for all those absentee ballots from the military!

Owens May Have to Be Removed

Spread the Truth about Abortion!

More Persecution Coming....

D.C.'s same sex marriage law is likely to pass which will herald a new level of persecution against Christians who refuse to kowtow to homosexual privileges. An amendment to protect the rights of Christians failed. The Washington Post reported today:

Under the bill, headed for a D.C. Council vote next month, religious organizations would not be required to perform or make space available for same-sex weddings. But they would have to obey city laws prohibiting discrimination against gay men and lesbians.

Fearful that they could be forced, among other things, to extend employee benefits to same-sex married couples, church officials said they would have no choice but to abandon their contracts with the city.

"If the city requires this, we can't do it," Susan Gibbs, spokeswoman for the archdiocese, said Wednesday. "The city is saying in order to provide social services, you need to be secular. For us, that's really a problem." Read more here...

Let's pray the Archdiocese stands firm. Cooperation with evil is impossible. Better to lose all the government money and close up shop than to marry the devil. The Church in the U.S. has already compromised too much which explains the collapse of Catholic colleges who sold out for the feds thirty pieces of silver. Pray the archdiocese stands firm on this.

Don't Let a Single One of Those Little Babies (especially the minorities) Get Away!

The health care debate goes on and the pro-aborts are mobilizing groups all over the country to make sure abortion is kept in the health care bill. We wouldn't want any of those little parasites in the womb to get away now would we, especially the "human weeds" (as Margaret Sanger considered the poor, Irish Catholics, minorities, in fact anyone who wasn't a WASP.)

Politico has an interesting article today. Note that the White House always has time to talk to the pro-aborts. When two million tea party activists hit town, they were ignored. When 20,000 rallied in less than a week to protest Obama-Pelosicare, they were ignored. But get a handful of NOW and Planned Parenthood harpies together and the White House puts out the red carpet and welcomes them for a "frank exchange":

ABC’s Jake Tapper, who first reported on their meeting with chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and other senior advisers to the president, wrote that the abortion-rights advocates had a “frank exchange” with administration officials, according to a source who participated.

A Moment of Silent Honor for all our Veterans Living or Dead

On this veterans' day I honor my father, my brother, my son-in-law, my nephews, and all those who have served our country in wartime or at peace. And especially to the fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice and the wounded who live with constant physical reminders of their service. Remember them today and pray in thanksgiving for their faithfulness.

Let us also pray for those who died and were wounded at Fort Hood this week. They were sacrificed on the altar of political correctness by military and political leaders more concerned about hurting feelings than preserving the safety of those who serve.

May God have mercy on the dead and protect the living.

And then there's the unemployment mess!

Data on the chart is from the Department of Labor. Everything the liberal government does makes things worse! Do we really want to turn over almost a fifth of the U.S. economy (health care) to a government that can't even run a cash for clunkers program? Whenever they propose one of these gargantuan bills, it is chock full of earmarks and pork barrell projects to buy votes back home. We need smaller government and a bigger private sector generating jobs at the local level through lower taxes for small businesses. They are the backbone of a healthy economy.

AARP sells out seniors, and in the UK: no surgery for you!

No wonder the AARP endorsed the plan. Follow the money! Here's what the American Family Association says about AARP's endorsement:
"PelosiCare will also cut Medicare Advantage by $170 billion. Medicare Advantage allows seniors to purchase private insurance with their Medicare payments, but these cuts will drive many of these seniors into inferior Medigap plans.

"AARP has a vested interest in seniors being driven out of Medicare Advantage into Medigap plans because AARP makes a fortune in royalty fees from Medigap plans. More than one-half of its $1.1 billion budget comes from such royalty fees, and Medigap plans make up the biggest share of this royalty revenue by far."
Read the complete article.
AARP sold seniors down the river for their bottom line. When health care rationing is instituted and seniors can't get hip and knee replacements because they're "too old" or they have to wait in line for months or even years to qualify what will AARP do for them?

Won't happen, you say? It already is under the UK socialized medicine debacle. Three surgeons in Letterkenny, Ireland recently blew the whistle on how they are sitting around doing nothing (and earning about $300,000 a year to do it) because the national health service is out of money. They are conserving by canceling all "elective" surgeries which includes hip and knee replacements which disproportionately affects older people. Welcome to health care rationing. "Take the pain pills, pal, no surgery for you!"

The Fort Hood Shooting and the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church

Information is coming out about the Fort Hood shooter that links him to a mosque in the VOICE network here in the Arlington Diocese. According to articles linked below, Major Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque at the same time as two of the 9-11 hijackers. All of them were exposed to the teachings of Anwar al-Aulaqi who was the imam at the mosque in 2001 and 2002 and has strong links to Al Quaeda. The mosque has a history of terrorist connections.

Anybody want to read the monstrosity? Let's play, "Find the Earmarks"

Here's the bill, H.R. 3962, all 1,990 pages of it. The question is -- how many bribes were built into it to buy votes? Let's play, "Find the Earmarks!"

Here's an interesting untraceable goody for selected Democratic supporters and voters will never be the wiser:
One such earmark suddenly appeared in H.R. 3962 in Section 1745, “Nursing Home Supplemental Payment Program.” This provision did not exist when the Committee on Energy and Commerce had completed its work. Section 1745 creates a new $6 billion slush fund with the Medicaid program to dispense to nursing homes.

This new fund has several unique characteristics that set it apart from the normal operations of Medicaid. First, payments to Medicaid nursing homes are made through states and require a state to match the federal funds. Under this section, there is no state money and the decision as to what facilities will receive the money will be made by Secretary Sebelius (and therefore no state involvement in decision making). Although the legislation provides $1.5 billion for each year in the period 2010-2013, the Secretary could hold the money for 2010 and 2011 and make big lump sum payments in 2012. Second, she does not have to go through any formal rulemaking process to award the funds. Third, her decision is final and is not subject to any type of review. This is important because facilities that receive the money will have a comparative advantage over its competitors. Finally, the Secretary will be required to tell the respective committees of Congress which facilities received the money, but is not obligated to tell anyone else.
Which nursing homes do you think Kathleen will shower with sweets? Perhaps those in districts of Democrats that contribute to their campaigns? Six billion could buy a lot of votes. Did you note her discretion to hold the payments until an election year? Did you notice the secrecy? So much for "openness and transparency" from one of the most corrupt administration/congresses in history. (TO BE CONTINUED...)

Common Sense from a Judicial Giant on Growing Tyranny in America

The Bill Passed the Fight Goes On!

Judas went out "and it was night." The Judases on the hill passed the massive trillion dollar government takeover of health care yesterday near midnight. Perhaps a better comparison would be to the pagan witching hour, when vampires, werewolves, ghouls, goblins, and witches cast spells and roam the earth doing evil. The Stupak amendment that instills the former Hyde amendment was added to the bill (roll call vote here, a yes vote is pro-life), but that doesn't make this massive takeover of health care by the government acceptable. And there is no guarantee that the pro-life limits will remain. The pro-aborts are already lobbying to remove it. Continue to fight to KILL THE BILL. The government has no right under the Constitution to regulate health care. Here is the final roll call vote on H.R. 3962. If your representative voted no, say thank you. If your representative voted yes, work to put him on the unemployment rolls.

The Industrial Areas Foundation in the Diocese of Arlington

I recently posted an open letter to the priests of Arlington on the Les Femmes main website about the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) affiliate, VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement). Eleven parishes in the VOICE network funneled over $100,000 to the IAF in 2009. The open letter urges the priests of Arlington to do two things. Ask Bishop Paul Loverde for an audit of the parishes involved and to join the boycott of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development which awarded VOICE a $40,000 grant in 2009. These community organizing networks are poison. They marry "progressive" pro-abortion, pro-sodomy churches with Catholic parishes to work together for liberal causes. Their agenda is more and bigger government to solve problems. If the money diverted to the IAF and the thousands of man-hours spent lobbying for socialism went, instead, into establishing a free dental clinic and a volunteer legal services office that would be REAL help for the poor. Visit the Les Femmes website and click on E-letters next to the flashing icon.

Community organizing groups are forming in dioceses all over the country. Find out if there's one growing in your diocese. It may be affiliated with Gamaliel Foundation, IAF, PICO (People Improving Communities), DART (Direct Action and Research Training), etc.

A Laugh a Day with Obama's Czars!

He did it again. Obama has nominated another off-the-wall czar from comedy central (the X-rated White House version). This one endorses polygamy. Phyllis Schlafly writes about it at Eagle Forum:
We thought our nation had settled the polygamy issue a century and a half ago, but this nomination makes it a 21st century controversy. Obama's nominee for the EEOC, a lesbian law-school professor named Chai R. Feldblum, signed a 2006 manifesto endorsing polygamous households (i.e., "in which there is more than one conjugal partner").

This document, entitled "Beyond Same-Sex Marriage: A New Strategic Vision for All Our Families & Relationships," argues that traditional marriage "should not be legally and economically privileged above all others." The American people obviously think otherwise, and current laws reflect our wishes.

Feldblum is not the only pro-polygamy Obama appointee. His Regulatory Czar, Cass Sunstein, wrote a book in 2008 called "Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth and Happiness" in which he urged that "the word marriage would no longer appear in any laws, and marriage licenses would no longer be offered or recognized by any level of government."
Read more here....

How many people in the U.S. do you think have working for polygamy at the top of their "To do" list? This is one more manifestation of the insane culture. The loonies are running the country which is why the sane folks are making house calls at the Capitol, doing Jericho walks around the White House, voting normal people into governors' mansions, and listening to conservative talk radio by the millions. Obama and company are insane and their agenda is evil, which is why we need to pray and work for their defeat and excision from the body politic.

Now if only Nancy Pelosi's bishop would put her under interdict.

There's More than One Way to Use a Logo!

If you haven't watched the video I posted yesterday, take a look and you'll understand what got me thinking about the signature logo of the great O and looking at bumper stickers using it to send a contrary message. All these bumper stickers except one use the Obama logo to mock the messiah-in-chief. And the last one I designed myself at Build a Sign. I will proudly display it on my bumper and pray the rosary that the Lord saves us from wicked leaders.

A lot of folks should put this one on their bumper:

My mom probably wouldn't approve of the next one, but it made me (and my husband) laugh. Anything that makes you laugh these days (a good healthy laugh, not a lewd snicker) is a winner in my book.

Another LOL because it's so true. Every time Obama opens his mouth he's whining about Bush, whining about the Republicans, whining about the taxpayers, whining about Creigh Deeds, whining about the tea party activists, etc., etc., (yawn), etc....

I read somewhere that giving Obama the Nobel prize was like giving an athlete the Heisman Trophy for what he might do in the future. He should be embarrassed and it was laughable as this bumper sticker illustrates:

Another on-target message. The selling of socialism goes on with oily promises served up in a useless elixir that tastes bad and is likely to poison the consumer.

Lots of folks (especially the independents) have poured out the Kool-Aid and are refilling the pitcher with tea.

This next sticker is no laughing matter because it's true. And the liberals are going about it with haste. If we don't stop them, the American ship may sink.

All I can say about this one is YES! YES! YES! Start working now for pro-life politicians at the grass roots. Let's build momentum for a serious change with our eyes on the 2010 midterm elections and then on to 2012.

We've seen lots of isms last century and they continue to influence the early years of the 21st. I'm interested in only two isms: Catholicism and patriotism.

Joe Wilson got beat up, but his spontaneous outburst was the normal reaction of a real man distressed at hearing a baldfaced liar trying to sell his bill of goods to the country. May he win re-election in a landslide!

I like this next one a lot, but wondered if a lot of people (considering the dumbing down of America) just wouldn't get it. Do kids even learn about Samuel Morse any more? Sadly, sending messages these days is all about texting (or maybe sexting).

So I decided to rework it in letters with a message for the people of God. I went to Build a sign and here's what I got. What do you think?

The Marketing of Evil - It's all in the Presentation

This video is terrific. There's no secret to why the Democrats are so good at selling their agenda -- it's Hollywood fantasy! Remember the Obama kids video and all the other visual and verbal manipulations during the campaign? The Hollywood liberals are masterpieces at packaging. This shows their brilliant marketing strategy. (Too bad the Republicans don't take a page from their playbook. They set themselves up as the party of "no" because they always stress the negative -- like "Our health plan excludes abortion. But was it "for"?)

The thing about marketing strategies is that once you know how the advertisers are trying to manipulate you, it innoculates you against manipulation. You become an observer of the strategy. (Golly, this guy on the phone is using the strategy, "never take no for an answer" because research shows many people will say yes if you persevere. Haven't you noticed the phone solicitors doing it?) A strategy exposed just doesn't have the same impact. So our job is to expose the strategies being used to manipulate us and rework them to our advantage - like the LOL bumper sticker at the end with Obama's O in the middle. Hey, folks, he's a joke. Pass it on!
Study this video - it's that good! And I want one of those LOL bumper stickers!

House Call on the Capitol: I Was There and it Was Impressive!

I trecked down to the Congressional House Call yesterday with a friend. What an impressive crowd! These aren't party Republicans, they're grassroots tea party activists and they know what they're doing. The enthusiasm was electric with the crowd chanting, "Kill the bill!" and cheering the speakers who warned about the government taking over another big aspect of our lives.

My friend and I joined the tea party delegation from Virginia who were assigning small delegations to lobby specific Congressmen. Unfortunately because of our parking situation (We cruised Union Station's massive parking deck fruitlessly for half an hour along with scores of others, but ended up in a two-hour street spot east of the Capitol) we couldn't stay as long as we wanted. But the time we were there was encouraging.

Think of anybody being able to mobilize thousands of activists in the middle of the week on six days notice. That's what Michele Bachman did. Talk about girl power! Wow! And the crowd was overflowing with young under thirties.

I wish I'd remembered my camera because one man had a homemade model of the Capitol on a pole with three very realistic hairy rat bodies wearing the heads of Nancy Pelosi (complete with necklace), Harry Reid, and President Obama. The man could have made a mint if he'd charged for all the folks getting their pictures taken with him. His display made me laugh and my friend and I joked that he should have had an exterminator with him. But I guess that's what all of us in the crowd were -- telling Congress, you rats vote for this stinking government takeover of health care and you're outta here! The creativity of these folks is amazing. I haven't joined a tea party group, but my two experiences with their activities has shown me a friendy, enthusiastic group of patriotic Americans who are upbeat, creative, and determined to take back our government.

We'd better hurry up.

Thirty-five years ago pro-lifers predicted that the next step after government-promoted abortion would be government-promoted euthanasia. This health care bill is the next big step toward eliminating the vulnerable. We're not just fighting for the unborn anymore. We're fighting for ourselves. You senior citizens who belong to the AARP need to resign now because their endorsement of this bill proves they don't give a hoot about your interests.

KILL THE BILL. Call your congressman today. The Capitol Switchboard number is 202-224-3121. If your congressman opposes the bill, thank him and call speaker Pelosi's office to complain. If your congressman supports it let him know you want reform that's real reform, not a government takeover of health care.

Celebrate the Fall of the Berlin Wall

Today is the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. What a difference that made to the people of Berlin and to the world. There's a terrific foreign film called The Tunnel about a champion German swimmer who defects from East Berlin and makes it his life's work to help others escape from Communism. This true story (with English subtitles) is absolutely gripping.

As the United States hurdles pell-mell toward a socialism that limits our freedoms and makes us wage slaves of an increasingly monstrous government, consider that there will be no escape for us. Tyranny takes off its benevolent mask when it becomes total. We must either protect our freedoms or lose them. As Shakespeare said, "The past is prologue." We either learn from it and act or re-live it.

Call your Congressman and tell him to "Kill the bill." Pelosi's health care is death care for the unborn and vulnerable.

Does Nancy Pelosi Believe Her Own Delusional Happy Talk?

The Madness of Queen Nancy

When the queen wants something done she does it, don't you know? It will be interesting to see, however, whether a mad queen can get all her subjects to fall on their swords for her.

Pray that Nancy and her court jesters fail in their bid to turn health care into another government program. A group plans to be praying the rosary at the Capitol on Saturday evening. Please join in spirit.

God save us from bad bishops...

Here's a website that shows the ticking clocks on a number of bad bishops in the United States. Every bishop on this page deserves his designation as a "bad bishop." And we can all look forward to the day we can say good-bye to them and pray their places are filled with holy men like Charles Borromeo whose feast day we celebrated yesterday.

On the other hand, wouldn't it be wonderful to have these men experience a conversion of heart and become zealous for the faith. Evidence of that could be shown by their implementation of canon law 915 refusing Holy Communion to pro-abort politicians. Imagine the impact of Archbishop George Niederauer putting his spiritual daughter, Nancy Pelosi, under interdict until she ceases her pro-abortion scandal. Ditto for Archbishop Wuerl and all the pro-abort Catholic politicians receiving Communion in Washington, D.C. during the legislative session.

I know, you're thinking, "It'll never happen," but miracles can come about through prayer. So in this year of the priest don't forget to pray really hard for bad bishops. And when you visit this page, contemplate the quote of St. John Eudes. How many of our bishops and priests "practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than the charity and affection of devoted shepherds"?

ELEMENTARY EPIDEMIC: 11 Uncovered Videos Show School Children Performing Praises to Obamaby by John Nolte

The most disturbing videos to me was the one from "Marymount." I wish they had more details about it because that sure sounds like a Catholic school. But it would fit because all the college Marymounts I know of are far out liberal.

If I'd had it earlier I would have posted it on Halloween. It's just plain creepy.

Bellarmine Just Keeps Uncovering More Evil CCHD Grantees

In part two of their latest reports, Bellarmine shows how CCHD grantees work as change agents to make sure their targeted groups vote the right way, i.e., for "reproductive health" and homosexual rights.

Bellarmine lists seven groups funded by CCHD participating in the "Mobilize the Immigrant Group Vote" (MIV) project. MIV developed a specifically pro-abortion voters' guide and emphasized coordination and participation by its partners. These groups had to know what was going on. And they most likely provided bodies to go door to door mobilizing the liberal vote.

Faith in Community
People Organized for Westside Renewal – POWER
Coalition LA
Justice Overcoming Boundaries in San Diego County
Nuestra Casa
San Francisco Organizing Project
All of Us or None (listed as Time for Change per CCHD)

This is how the CCHD funds evil. See the full report here. It is nauseating to the liberals at the USCCB funneling Catholic money collected "for the poor" into groups working for moral evils.

Please pass this information around as widely as possible. Friends don't let friends be swindled into supporting evils under the fraud that they are "helping the poor."

BOYCOTT THE CCHD!

The Republicans Need to Stop Drinking the Kool-Aid!

Joe Sobran always used to write about the "stupid party" and the Republicans continue to demonstrate they deserve the description by their post election comments. A number of party leaders from RNC Chairman Michael Steele on down, when asked if the election was a repudiation of Obama, said oh no.

Of course it is! It's a repudiation of big-government liberalism. The fact that an unknown accountant in New York came within 3% of winning in the 23rd District of New York illustrates an electorate fed up with politics as usual that's headed toward big-government socialism regardless of who's in office.

But the Republicans still don't get it. They play the game with the media shaking their heads over the "extreme right wing" while they engage in the party game of "call a liberal a moderate." If I hear one more talking head say Scozzafava was a moderate, I think I will upchuck. She was a left-wing radical even more outrageous than the Democrat running. She proved her credentials as a not-so-closeted Democrat by pulling out and endorsing Owens. If she is ever allowed to engage in Republican politics in the 23rd District again (or anywhere else), it will be one more example of the Republicans' loss of principles. but let's face it. As a party, they don't have any. Pro-abort Colin Powell endorses Obama. What do the Republicans do? Keep quiet. They have no principles except their so-called "big tent."

Well some of us don't want to be under a big tent with advocates of child-killing and champions of sodomy and same-sex marriage. We don't want to stand shoulder to shoulder with those who destroy individual righs and destroy American sovereignty. The life issues are absolutely non-negotiable so don't ask us to compromise on them.

But no matter how clear the writing on the wall is, the political prostitutes can't (or won't) read it. It's about principles, stupid!

As happy as I was over last night's outcome, I think it's unlikely the Republican party will take the right lesson from it. Which means real constitutional conservatives need to keep giving it to them at the ballot box. Being willing to lose is the cost of having principles. The party better either get them, or get used to being in the minority.

So:

NEVER EVER SUPPORT A RINO.

NEVER EVER VOTE FOR THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS.

NEVER EVER VOTE FOR A LIBERAL (OR "MODERATE" LIKE DEDE) IN ELEPHANT'S CLOTHING.

NEVER EVER SUPPORT A PRO-ABORTION OR PRO-SODOMY POLITICIAN.

If the powers that be don't respect the party base which is anything but extreme despite all the hysterical rhetoric, (Extreme is pulling a baby out of his mom's womb, stabbing him in the head, and sucking out his brains.) then let them lose elections. The Republican party is not our Savior.

Let's hope the party bosses learn from yesterday's election. Time will tell. Will they switch to tea or keep drinking the Kool-Aid?

The Democrats are Spinning, Spinning, Spinning this Morning

With all the spinning going on, liberals should have their fairy tale costume made from whole cloth by the end of the day. Tim Kaine made some laughable comments last night at Creigh Deed's funereal post election party. As the new head of the DNC, he couldn't even turn in a respectable showing in Virginia, his home state, where the three conservatives won in a landslide. Kaine's spin on the event appeared in a Washington Times article:

"We've gotten used to winning most of these elections, so that's a challenge," said outgoing Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, who's head of the Democratic National Committee.

But he declared: "Our president, President Obama, is more popular in Virginia today than he was one year ago." The sparse crowd applauded, but not enthusiastically.

Have you stopped laughing yet? That was definitely not the opinion of two of Deeds' campaign workers.

"I think a lot of people are just fed up with Obama," said one Deeds supporter, who started to give his name but then said, "Wait, I better not."

"Oh, don't even get me started about Obama. Where was he?" said another, who also refused to give his name.

While a plethora of news articles emerged in recent days seeking to knock down national implications of the Virginia election, voters didn't exactly agree with the media. Exit polls showed that more than a quarter of state voters said their vote was to express opposition to Mr. Obama and his policies.

This morning the White House is telling us the only race that mattered was the 23rd district in New York where upstart conservative, Doug Hoffman, lost by 3% of the vote, not exactly an overwhelming win considering Hoffman was a long shot in the first place.

Obama knows he's in trouble. There's a new conservative kid on the block who cares more about principles than party. He wears a patriotic T-shirt, flies the American flag, reads the Constitution, and loves motherhood and apple pie. They call him a "right wing conservative" but he's an all-American kid -- and he comes from a big family. Spin on, liberal politicos, but be afraid, be very afraid. That spindle is sharp and when you prick your finger, your prospects may be asleep for a very long time.

Woo-Hoo! It's a Crushing Sweep in Virginia! Thanks be to God!

Congratulations to the pro-life trio in Virginia in a clean sweep of the executive offices. While they mostly ran on economic issues, none of the candidates hid their pro-life views. Ken Cuccinelli, especially, is known for his firm pro-life, pro-family convictions.

Ken's big win proves that pro-lifers don't need to run from and hide their beliefs. When the issues are framed properly, the life issues will not damage candidates and can actually help them. How many women out there who've had abortions recognize the truth when a candidate says, "We can do better for women than abortion."

I have to say I'm really happy tonight. I've spent a lot of election nights knowing beforehand that my candidates would lose. Tonight they are all in the big win column including my favorite Virginia delegate, Bob Marshall who with 76% of polls reporting is winning 62% to 38%.

Take a good look at the Virginia state seal. This is Virginia's statement against tyrants in every age of history whether King George III of England or Barack Obama of Hawaii (or Kenya).

Thank you, God, for giving Virginia such strong leaders. The Commonwealth may have been named for the "virgin" queen of England (a misnomer for sure), but I prefer to think that, in God's providence, she was named after the Blessed Virgin, the Queen of heaven and earth. May this birthplace of liberty, the home of George Washington, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, James Madison, and scores of other patriots become the new birthplace of pro-life freedom. Please pray for Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling, Ken Cuccinelli, Bob Marshall, and all the other pro-life legislators elected tonight in Virginia.

God bless them all.

The Future Belongs to Lovers of Life!

And to Catholic schools like Christendom. Notre Dame has sold their Catholic identity for thirty pieces of silver. Christendom professors take an oath of fidelity to the magisterium. If you're looking for a great Catholic school to support, send Christendom a donation.

Over 200 Christendom College Students Protest Abortion at Planned Parenthood Clinic

Don't Forget to Vote!

Go to the polls and vote.

Vote Pro-life.

Vote for Constitutional Conservatives.

Don't vote for the lesser of two evils because he (or she) is still evil and the evil you don't know may turn out to be more evil than the evil you know.

Never vote party just for party's sake. The Democrats are principled, but most of their principles are evil. They sure stick by them though. The Republicans have principles on paper, but never let their priniciples interfere with what happens to be expedient. Support candidates who stand for life, traditional marriage, fiscal restraint, and limited government. If they don't stand for conservatism don't support them. Better to turn in a blank ballot or write in your own name.

You don't "waste your vote" by supporting a third party candidate. You waste your vote when you let them convince you that lukewarm liberal light is better than full-bodied liberal. It's a lie. When liberal expose their evil, they generate resistance. Would we really be better off if liberal John McCain had won? Would he have invigorated conservatism the way the Obama Marxists have?

Pray like everything depends on God and work like everything depends on you. It's the mark of the true Christian - Ora et Labora.

And remember during this All Souls month to pray for the intercession of the poor souls in purgatory. They have fought the good fight and won. Their sufferings are one of the strongest weapons in the arsenal of the Church Militant along with the rosary and the Holy Eucharist. Put on the armor of God and fight!

And You Thought You Could Jump Rope

Bellarmine Ministries Uncovers More CCHD Grantees Promoting Moral Evils

More questions surrounding CCHD Grantees (Part 1)

Thank You, Dede Scozzafava!

Well, I have to give the scuzzy RINO in New York, Dede Scozzafava, credit. She did what most conservatives haven't been able to do. She got the Republican National Committee to put out an ad promoting conservatism. They don't mention Doug Hoffman by name (and unfortunately they don't mention the pro-life and pro-family issues) but they definitely promote fiscal conservativism in New York's 23rd district. Now the big question is, why on earth the GOP endorsed Scuzzy in the first place. Withdrawing from the race and endorsing the Democrat showed just what a hypocrite this woman is. So why does the GOP keep letting these phonies play the party for patsies. All the RINOs need to start facing real conservatives in their primary races. Olympia Snowe, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins, etc. Stop giving them a free ride. And may the tea party express continue to promote true conservatism regardless of party and stop backing the folks who support party over principles, i.e., party with no principles!

Elton John Cancels Concerts Due to E-Coli Infection

Anal sex is bad for your health and the latest proof of it is Elton John who canceled several concerts because of an e-coli infection and the flu that has him hospitalized. Homosexual practices are diseased and dangerous. Pray for Elton John. All his money cannot protect him and his boyfriend from the consequences of their actions. You can't fool Mother Nature. It's all about the natural law.

Urinary-tract infection in sexually active homosexual men.

"Sexually active homosexual men are a newly identified group at increased risk of acute urinary-tract infection, and E coli may contribute to non-gonococcal urethritis in this population."

Study: HIV-positive Practicing Homosexual Men 9000% More Likely to Develop Anal Cancer

"A Canadian doctor who spoke to LifeSiteNews.com (anonymously for fear of reprisal) about the dangers our homosexual sex acts in 2005 stated: 'Anal intercourse causes abrasions of the relatively fragile rectal wall, especially in the receptive partner. The penetration of E.coli, always present in the stool, and other bacteria, viruses and parasites penetrate through such lesions into the deeper body tissues. This leads to the suppression of the immune system of such individuals even if there is no exposure to HIV. The immune suppression increases the risk to develop certain cancers, opportunistic infections, to which otherwise one would be resistant, and other health problems including the risk of premature death.'"
