Having read the Catechism, especially paragraphs 839-843, the official doctrine is clear - we all believe in the same God. There are evil Muslims just like there are evil Christians. Focusing on the differences only creates more divisiveness and hostility. But with no hostility, what is there to complain about?
No, muslims don't believe in the same god because they reject Jesus Christ as God made man and only see Him as a prophet. I remember Bush saying this on TV after 9/11 too and thinking what's he up to anyhow.

I used to have an old Catholic prayer book that had a prayer that included "for the conversion of Jews and Mohamedans".
