In View of the Latest Catholic Relief Services Scandal...

....a look back:

The hellish partnership continues. As the saying goes...the more things change, the more they stay the same...at least at Catholic Relief Services...and Catholic Charities...and CCHD of course. They all take your money and use it to advance the culture of death. Sad, isn't it? The shepherds are like the pigs in Animal Farm who end up colluding with the enemy. Pray for the U.S. bishops. They have a lot for which to answer.

  1. I work for Catholic Relief Services. It is my honor every day as a Catholic to collaborate with people doing so much good to honor human life and dignity across the globe. We take our partnerships very seriously, as we take our adherence to Catholic moral teaching.

Please believe this and pray about any concerns and ask questions. You can read about our misson and our Catholic values here (http://crs.org/about/mission-statement/). We couldn't be more serious about this.

  2. With all due respect, it's hard to take you seriously when CRS pumps millions of dollars into groups that are up to their necks in the culture of death. How many babies have died because of CRS funding of evil? And how many of your partners think there are too many of THOSE PEOPLE in the world.

You may talk about doing good, but a glass of water with only a few drops of poison can be lethal. You can point to all the good water in the glass, but that won't make it less deadly. And CRS clearly does NOT adhere to Church teaching.

  3. Mary Ann, you are absolutely right, Here CRS is shipping millions of dollars off to Africa to people whose immoral lives have brought down God's punishment of AIDS when we need that money here to keep our parishes open. our Catholic Schools open, to fight abortion and same-sex marriage, and to keep good Colleges like Christendom and Saint Thomas Aquinas growing and expanding. Just do away with CRS and take care of Catholics here rather than godless sinners in Africa. And cut out the collection for retired religous too--if the nuns can afford the luxury bus they can take care of their own, not a dime to that cause!

  4. Africa may be our answer to the vocation crisis since they have a high rate of priestly vocations. Missionary work is essential to our Catholic obligation to both serve the poor and evangelize. Groups that actually do that should be supported without Catholic dollars being spent on groups that promote things diametrically opposed to Church teachings. As I've said before we need a Catholic charity that 1) supports only Catholic groups that are truly Catholics (missionaries running schools, hospitals, teaching trades, etc.), 2) hires only those who are truly Catholic to administer the programs and award the grants, and 3) accepts no government funding. If you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas.

As for retired religious, most of them are hard working women faithfully serving the Church unlike the nuns on the bus. The worker is worth her wage.

don't waste your time defending CRS on this site or on the Restore DC Catholicism site. This lady is just a very unbhappy camper who for years has had nothing better to do than to attack anytring that doesn't meet her opinions. Trust me, most good Catholics know the good work CRS does and are solidly behind you. read this site regularly and you will realize you don't have to take Mrs Kreitzer seriously.

  6. But we should take the brave souls who comment anonymously with absolute seriousness. LOL!

By the way, I AM a camper and not unhappy at all. How can a grandma not have a constant smile on her face?
