"I am the bishop dressed in white." - Pope Francis

"I am the bishop dressed in white." - Pope Francis
Page 9, Missal of the visit to Fatima, May 12-13, 2017
Seriously? He's "the bishop dressed in white"? He's the center of the message of Fatima?

After 4 years of reinterpreting the Catholic faith for us, Francis, never one to leave any teaching unmolested, now helpfully corrects our Blessed Mother, setting her and the 3 children straight on just who is the "bishop dressed in white." It's him. It's he! It's Francis.

Is it Francis' ignorance of the Faith or his prideful egotism that drives me crazy? Is it his ostentatious false humility or his haughty arrogance that makes me nuts? Is he the Catholic Church's Pope or a sort of new self-proclaimed Islamic prophet that's driving me insane?

I think it's all of the above mixed together. Francis is like a sort of eerie cloud way up high in the atmosphere hovering over the earth and suddenly spinning out of control. He's like a string of blinking led lights stuffed into a clear glass block catapulted into outer space, which suddenly does a 180 speeding down and landing with a crash splintering into microscopic bits of slivered glass which land silently over the earth like deadly pixie dust which we must all breathe in. Kind of like that. Only worse.

So why then am I surprised when, at Fatima, Francis describes himself as the “bishop dressed in white” (Thank you, Rorate Caeli) from Our Lady’s message to the children? I always thought it was Pope Saint John Paul II - because he was shot - who is the “bishop dressed in white”.

So, no, it wasn't John Paul II. It was Francis. He changes the message, placing himself in the spotlight. In reinterpreting the message of Fatima for us he makes himself the center of the Fatima messages, the center of the 100th anniversary of Our Lady's appearances there, the center of the universe. He identifies himself as the Pilgrim of Light, Pilgrim of Peace and Pilgrim of Hope which makes him the “bishop dressed in white” of the message of Fatima because Our Lady wanted peace. Never mind that she spoke of wars and hell and that we need to do reparation and pray the rosary. No. Just that he's The Great Pilgrim bringing peace to all of us here on earth. Like Obama who brought the nation peacefully together. He's probably in that message somewhere too. I mean, why not?  Anything goes, right?

I almost titled this post, "The Prophet Francis (PBUH)" because (JCMF)* Francis, in addition to the above, says he wants to be a “prophet and messenger so as to wash the feet of all at the same table which unites us.” So since he has washed the feet of Muslims at Easter does he mean that he is even a prophet and messenger of Islam? To Islam? The words prophet and messenger are a bit too Islamic for my taste to be used in a papal speech or prayer at the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima.

Yes, I’m putting the worst case scenario on all this, I know, but – hey – one has to read between the lines with Francis because that’s where he dwells....there and in footnotes that is.

Thank you for letting me vent.

  1. C'mon - he prayed, "I gaze at your robe of light
and, as a bishop robed in white ..."

'a' bishop clothed in white, connecting it to our baptismal white robe and Our Lady clothed in 'light'. He was not making himself the center of the message - although Our Lady, the children, and Pope Benedict indicated the Pope(s) were indeed central to the message.

  2. Our Mother was modest in her piety ...he is not, Our Mother was humble of her role as Mother of Our Lord...while he points out his status daily...Our Mother was never boastful...he is consistently boastful and worldly focused... She wants us to repent and do reparation. He maintains repentance and reparations are unneeded as hell is unoccupied.Rosaries are needed for his conversion.

  3. Maybe he is the bishop in white. Is he implying that he is not a Pope in white?

  4. How can any catholic, let alone the alleged Bishop of Rome support or write the anti-Catholic viewpoints that dilute the sacraments of marriage, holy common and confession clearly expressed in chapter 8 of Amoris Laetitiae?
It is my view that Jorge Bergoglio has excommunicated himself from the roman catholic church.
In effect this means his only way back in is to publicly admit his many grievous doctrinal and pastoral errors and be absolved by Pope Benedict XVI.

  5. Perhaps Jorge has unwittingly prophesied his own demise by identifying himself as "the bishop dressed in white"? After all, the children said "we had the impression that it was the Holy Father." So maybe he isn't? Questions abound about Benedict's "resignation"; perhaps Francis ain't the real thing. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck as they say. This man does not walk or talk like a pope. Just sayin'

  8. His Holiness Pope Francis did not say..."I am the bishop dressed in white."

    1. The Rorate Caeli headline reads: Francis in Fatima: "I am the bishop dressed in white."

    2. Later in that article, Rorate Caeli quoted from the "official missal of his visit to Fatima today and tomorrow, in the Prayer specially written for this day..."

The official prayer, as quoted by Rorate Caeli at the end of the article is as follows:

"Hail Mother of Mercy, Lady of the white robe! At this place where one hundred years ago you showed all the designs of our God's mercy, I look upon your robe of light and, as bishop dressed in white [como bispo vestido de branco], I remember all those who, robed in baptismal white, want to live in God and pray the mysteries of Christ to attain peace."

    Rorate Caeli's headline is false.

Catholic News Agency yesterday published the a transcript of Pope Francis' press conference conducted following his departure from Fatima.

Aura Miguel (Radio Renascença): "Your Holiness, in Fatima you presented yourself as the “bishop dressed in white.” Up to now, this expression applied rather to the vision of the third part of the secret, St. John Paul II, the martyrs of the twentieth century. What does it mean now, your identification with this expression?"

Pope Francis: "The prayer, that, I did not write it... the sanctuary wrote it... but also I have tried because they said this, and there is a connection with the white. The bishop of white, Our Lady of white, the white glow of the innocence of children after Baptism and innocence... there is a connection to the color white in that prayer. I believe - because I did not write it - but I believe that literally they have tried to express with white that desire for innocence, for peace... innocence: to not hurt the other ... to not create conflict, the same."

Miguel: "Is it a revision of the interpretation..."

Pope Francis: "No, but that vision ... I believe that then Cardinal Ratzinger, at that time prefect of the Doctrine of the Faith, explained everything clearly."

    Pax.

  9. The man admits often to not writing his own commentary. Why is he the pope, representing the position of the vicar of Christ, filling the Chair of Peter, when we are not even getting his own commentary nor prayers? Who is he representing? That person, his speechwriter, "Tucho" Fernandez reportedly, that is who should be on the Chair of Peter, since we are hearing his thoughts, his inspirations, his commentary. Why do we not eliminate the middle man and go right to Tuchy? Perhaps he will expand on his work "The Art of Kissing", to illuminate our minds with Catholic prayers and commentary?
It seems bizarre to me, to have anyone at all write what a pope shall say on this or that occasion, certainly for something as important as the beatification of two children so incredibly important to so many Catholics. But then, the photo op was there, and apparently, this man is so busy he had not time to reflect on his own thoughts. Therefore, the "sanctuary" wrote them.
The implication is there, for anyone with a knowledge at all of Fatima, that to use the "bishop in white" is to trigger that association. He must be at the center. He must! He must put himself in a place of singular importance.
If this guy isn't pushing for head of a One World Religion, then I don't know how we will ever know who is. He is an Islamist. Or more accurately, he is not a Catholic, and may not be a Christian.

    1. Is he, Bergoglio, saying that his first reading of the script was his public reading thereof at the centennial celebration of the first apparition at Fatima? Are we to believe that this speech was never previously read and edited?

  10. And the "Great Chastisement" was and still is?

Whenever people use the two words "Pope" and "Francis" together they build up judgement for themselves. Jorge Begoglio is the successor of a non-successor of Saint Peter. A successor of a non-successor is not a pope. If we do not know who can be or can not be the Vicar of Christ on earth then we are the ones facing eternal damnation because it is absolutely necessary for salvation that we be subject to the Roman Pontiff Saint Peter. Our Lady at Fatima warned that Benedict XV would have much to suffer. Hopefully that is suffering in Purgatory rather than hell. Benedict XV was a League of Nations "Pope". Those since Paul VI are United Nations "Popes". If we cannot recognise our enemies then what hope have we?
To be in communion with a false Roman Pontiff/Bishop of Rome is to be outside the Catholic Church and suffer shipwreck in the faith. Outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation.

Above all things whatever in this life we must keep and live by the Catholic faith without which it is impossible to please God. If we do not do so we will lose our souls. God has been testing us since the death of Pius X. The vast majority of Catholics since then have been damning themselves because of Apostasy and human respect. Always remember, even if we have living saints for popes the greater number of Catholics are damned as Our Lord and his saints teach us.

  12. As Msgn. Adriano Bernadini said, the former Nuncio of Argentina (when Bergoglio was still the Cardinal): "He's a man that's sick with POWER." Why would he say such a thing? Because by being the Nuncio of Argentina when Bergoglio was Cardinal, he had to have known him quite well.

  13. Although I am very fond of our past Pope Benedict XVI and was sadden when he retired, I have to agree with the first post above by Terry Nelson. When one reads the total sermon, I do not think that Pope Francis said he was THE bishop in white but A bishop in white. There is a difference between the two. I do not think that he meant he was the bishop in the vision.
