Archbishop Carlo Vigano's Message to the Bishops on the Feast of St. Peter Damian

Editor's Comment: Archbishop Carlo Vigano sent the message below to the bishops gathering for the sex abuse summit on February 21st. It was the summit's opening day and also the feast of St. Peter Damian, the great warrior against the depraved practices of homosexual clergy in the Middle Ages.

I'm posting this on the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter. These two feasts back to back emphasize the responsibility of Pope Francis to exercise authority over the crisis in the Church which is, in fact, a homosexual crisis. Ignoring that fact endangers the credibility of the hierarchy and illustrates a lack of transparency that puts to the lie all the fine words coming from the Vatican about their intent to resolve the crisis.

These feasts also coincide with new details coming out about Cardinal McCarrick and his "missing years" when he was apparently being groomed by the Communist party to become a Church insider attacking the faith. If you've read Bella Dodd's School of Darkness, you know full well that a Communist strategy was to plant agents in Catholic seminaries to undermine and corrupt the Church and destroy her authority to be a powerful witness in the world. And how effectively they did it!

As the summit continues, keep in mind that McCarrick was not an isolated operator. Look at his legacy and those he advanced and you'll have an idea of the web of corruption in the Church. Cardinal Blase Cupich is a McCarrick-created creature. That he is one of the "stars" of the current summit (I just listened to his address on synodality.) undermines the credibility of the entire event. Let us join Archbishop Vigano in calling on our Blessed Mother for her intercession. Our Lady, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us.

Memory of St. Peter Damian

We cannot avoid to see, as a sign of Providence, that you, Pope Francis and brother Bishops representing the entire Church, have come together on the very day on which we celebrate the memory of St. Peter Damian.

This great monk in the 11th century put all his strength and apostolic zeal into renewing the Church in his time, so deeply corrupted by sins of sodomy and simony. He did that with the help of faithful bishops and lay people, especially with the support of Abbot Hildebrand of the Abbey of St. Paul extra muros, the future Pope Gregory VII.

Allow me to propose for our meditation the words of our dear Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, addressed to the people of God in the General Audience of Wednesday, the 17th of May, 2006, commenting on the very passage of the Gospel of Mark 8:27-33 that we proclaimed on today’s Mass.

“Peter was to live another important moment of his spiritual journey near Caesarea Philippi when Jesus asked the disciples a precise question: ‘Who do men say that I am?’ (Mk 8: 27). But for Jesus hearsay did not suffice. He wanted from those who had agreed to be personally involved with him a personal statement of their position. Consequently, he insisted: “But who do you say that I am?” (Mk 8: 29).

It was Peter who answered on behalf of the others: “You are the Christ” (ibid.), that is, the Messiah. Peter's answer, which was not revealed to him by “flesh and blood” but was given to him by the Father who is in heaven (cf. Mt 16: 17), contains, as in a seed, the future confession of faith of the Church. However, Peter had not yet understood the profound content of Jesus' Messianic mission, the new meaning of this word: Messiah.

He demonstrates this a little later, inferring that the Messiah whom he is following in his dreams is very different from God’s true plan. He was shocked by the Lord's announcement of the Passion and protested, prompting a lively reaction from Jesus (cf. Mk 8: 32-33).

Peter wanted as Messiah a “divine man” who would fulfill the expectations of the people by imposing his power upon them all: We would also like the Lord to impose his power and transform the world instantly. Jesus presented himself as a “human God,” the Servant of God, who turned the crowd’s expectations upside-down by taking a path of humility and suffering.

This is the great alternative that we must learn over and over again: to give priority to our own expectations, rejecting Jesus, or to accept Jesus in the truth of his mission and set aside all too human expectations.

Peter, impulsive as he was, did not hesitate to take Jesus aside and rebuke him. Jesus’ answer demolished all his false expectations, calling him to conversion and to follow him: “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not on the side of God, but of men” (Mk 8: 33). It is not for you to show me the way; I take my own way and you should follow me.

Peter thus learned what following Jesus truly means. It was his second call, similar to Abraham’s in Genesis 22, after that in Genesis 12: “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake and the Gospel's will save it" (Mk 8: 34-35). This is the demanding rule of the following of Christ: one must be able, if necessary, to give up the whole world to save the true values, to save the soul, to save the presence of God in the world (cf. Mk 8: 36-37). And though with difficulty, Peter accepted the invitation and continued his life in the Master's footsteps.

And it seems to me that these conversions of St. Peter on different occasions, and his whole figure, are a great consolation and a great lesson for us. We, too, have a desire for God; we, too, want to be generous, but we, too, expect God to be strong in the world and to transform the world on the spot, according to our ideas and the needs that we perceive.

God chooses a different way. God chooses the way of the transformation of hearts in suffering and in humility. And we, like Peter, must convert, over and over again. We must follow Jesus and not go before him: it is he who shows us the way.

So it is that Peter tells us: You think you have the recipe and that it is up to you to transform Christianity, but it is the Lord who knows the way. It is the Lord who says to me, who says to you: Follow me! And we must have the courage and humility to follow Jesus, because he is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Maria, Regina Apostolorum, Ora pro nobis.

Maria, Mater Gratiae, Mater Misericordiae, Tu nos ab hoste protege et mortis hora suscipe.

  1. I have read this with great interest. Your hot spot to School of Darkness opens a door to a footnote that leads to Dodd's actual testimony to Congress.

This testimony goes on and on and on which is typical govt. behavior, but I stuck with it and came across several jewels of wisdom I plan to feature in a new post soon.

The problem with the testimony in general is not Bella Dodd's answers but the endless # of dull and tedious questions put to her by the bureaucrats who seem oblivious to the fact before them sits a person with the key to what may have saved this nation before it was too late.

Bella is at the mercy of those asking the questions. She can contribute only what they desire to know.

Imagine if you were questioned by someone about the Catholic Church and you could say nothing outside the questions you were asked.

  2. I own a copy and have read School of Darkness. It is a small book. Very readable. I recommend it highly. If you can find a copy you should read it.

It is a little like reading a story of someone who went to hell and came back to tell about it. Better you read about it than go there yourself.

  3. In ref to Bella Dodd’s School Of Darkness thesis. It makes total sense that the best way to defeat a strong enemy is to make your enemy weak. Introduce a pathogen and destroy it from within. Once the sickness has consumed the enemy completely, then advance boldly and push it over with one finger. No army required at all. Just a few crucial “gatekeepers” at the small number of Seminaries who train the heart and soul of your hated and dreadful enemy. With the pathogen firmly installed at every gateway: nothing good allowed in, only evil allowed out, the pathogen of evil will quickly metastasize and overwhelm from within ... unseen and relentless. The Body appears the same from the outside, but they know the soul is theirs inside.

This is why we give not one inch to sin. Rout out every last scintilla of perversion. Hold on to every molecule of holiness. Seek God heart, soul, mind, body, strength. Mercy that accepts sin is deadly. Mercy destroys sin. Mercy excommunicates. Mercy is the Gospel that communists fear most. I personally learn a great deal, seeing the great error of our Church Fathers over the span of literally my entire life. I have always hated and feared sin, even before becoming a Catholic. I hate and fear it now with the flaming hatred and anger of God behind it. Holy hatred, I suppose.

God will defeat this evil. He will overthrow their tables, their plans ruined in a moment. They will go down to hell. I have no doubt of this. My revival, our (the Faithfuls’) revival and that of the whole Church ... the TRUE Church ... also continues, unseen to Her enemies. The antibodies are aware of the disease and are attacking at the molecular level. God will triumph. His Bride is eternally pure and reigns in heaven, even now. This we know. There is nothing they can do to change that.

  4. In the early 2000's a friend from VA sent me a copy of the notarized document a couple in TX testified to after listening to Bella Dodd speak.
A post it note was attached. "Alice wants you to know that only homosexual communist party members took on the assignment."
Toby Westerman of INA received the same document. But he did not mention the document also said that in 1939 Dodd said she answered to four or five Communist Party Cardinals in the Vatican. This begs the question ,how many are in there now?

  5. This is almost like St Peter Damien answered my question above.
Happy Feast Day St Peter ! "This begs the question, how many are there now?"

"We've been told by various folks who work in and around the Vatican that things have never been this bad. Priests are afraid to wear cassocks, afraid that if they look "too traditional" they will be reported to the Vatican.
Various individuals are being followed and their movements monitored. Rooms are bugged, phone lines are tapped and the Vatican more and more resembles North Korea, as one cleric termed it to us.

Sources tell us that the level of homosexual activity here is off the charts. The Swiss Guard, for example, is a regular target.
One source told us that grooming attempts and sexual advances by various archbishops are so off the charts that each year's new recruits should be given a week-long class on how to handle it.

And don't forget, this is the new Rome, the "Rome of Mercy" — mercy apparently for lying, covering up, homosexualist prelates who hate the Church, but no mercy for anyone else, especially those who uphold Tradition."

And on Fox News about an hour ago ....Cardinal Marx admitted the German church destroyed their abuse files.

  6. Incidentally . FYI ,Randy Engel is launching the St Peter Damien Society.
Anyone who would like more information should contact her below at the end of her articles where her email is posted.
She will include excerpts on the life of the Saint whose "Book of Gomorrah" she read during research and writing of the "Rite of Sodomy". Personally because i cannot afford the text or have time to read it all in one sitting ( which I am prone to do) I will be looking forward to reading about his life, meditating and praying on his words and trials in smaller doses.
