I have no problem with  depicting Jesus or Mary with sinners. A painting of Jesus with His hand on the head of George Floyd or addressing a crowd about to throw stones at him would be poignant and remind us that every single one of us is a sinner. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I Hope You Are Spending It with Those You Love!

We are! All five of our children will be here and all but one of our 27 living grandchildren. What a blessing! What joyful chaos. We will pray together, play together, and eat together. 

Our holiday tablecloth will grace the main table at the Thanksgiving feast reminding us of several dear ones who are gone now and reminding us of how the big grandchildren used to be little! So many memories on this tablecloth. I will read them all once again.

When Larry retired, we bought a big house in the country and moved from Alexandria (swampland) to the farmland of Shenandoah County. The kids named our new home Camp Kreitzer. Once someone stopped and asked if we really ran a camp. I laughed! Yes, a big family one. 

Heading into Thanksgiving, What Are You Thankful For?

I'm in Book 2 Chapter 10 of the Imitation of Christ. The Chapter title is "On Gratitude for God's Grace." What is grace exactly? The word comes from the Latin gratia meaning "favor, esteem, regard; pleasing quality, good will, gratitude." 

In his Pocket Catholic Dictionary, Fr. John Hardon, S.J. defines grace in the Biblical sense as the "condescension or benevolence (Greek charis) shown by God toward the human race." 

God doesn't owe us a thing. He created us out of his total gratuitous love and wants to shower us with blessings. We don't deserve that love or those blessings, and we owe the One who created us unlimited thanks, honor, and praise for His goodness to us. We can never repay Him. We owe Him thanks for everything. Chesterton put it well when he said we shouldn't only say grace before meals, but grace before the opera and before we open a book or walk or swim.... The grace of God is in everything!

Somebody with no prior health problems gets massive blood clots after the jab.... just a coincidence.  Athletes and healthy young men develop myocarditis, a recognized side effect of the drug, but...hey, it's so rare it doesn't count... just collateral damage and, besides, it's just a coincidence. A teen collapses on the basketball court and dies with a swollen heart twice the size of a normal heart....no evidence it was the jab...just a coincidence. Yup... all just coincidences. We have a pandemic of coincidence.

Joke of the day? The only media you can trust is Church Militant! Hahahahahaha!

Michael Voris is at it again -- reporting from Baltimore about the massive crowd (Really...1500?) coming to his rally tomorrow. As usual Voris preens and postures as he promotes Church Militant (CM) as the only courageous team willing to take on the evil bishops, every one of whom should immediately resign. (Yes, he said that in another Vortex episode since the bishops are all homosexuals, homosexual enablers, or cowards, not to mention "Johns" paying their whores in the media to pick on poor CM. Yup, he called and/or implied that the bishops as a group are cruising "Johns" looking for their latest hooker pickup. (Obviously Voris knows a lot about cruising for pickups. As my mom always said, "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.")

Monday Morning Musing! Is the Biden Administration Setting Us Up for Another 9/11?

Is the Biden Administration setting us up for another 9/11? Absolutely! No doubt about it!

The September 2nd issue of The Wanderer. featured an article by Terence Jeffrey's, How the 9/11 Terrorists Got Here. Easy answer -- illegally! His data came from the commission created by Congress titled "9/11 and Terrorist Travel." So I went and looked up the report. It's preamble begins:

Sunday Meditation: The Mask is Off!

Evil is so eager to spread itself that it ends up consuming itself in its zeal for blood. Think of the guru of the French Revolution, Robespierre, who ended up losing his head to Madame Guillotine after orchestrating the murder of hundreds of thousands including about 170,000 Catholic martyrs of the Vendee. Hopefully, we are seeing the beginning of that same self-immolation beginning in our country.

The past two years have torn the mask off liberalism. While many still buy the lie of COVID tyranny, others have awakened and are pushing back. The airline employees who grounded hundreds of flights by refusing the vax mandates forced their CEOs to rethink the policy. The same with the trash workers in New York who tossed refuse over the fence at DeBlasio's mansion. How long will citizens tolerate the stench of garbage in their neighborhoods, a metaphor for the garbage occupying their government?

I Confess It...I'm an Unapologetic Book Censor.

I have a large library of Catholic books. Some of them are terrible! In fact, I have an entire shelf of books for research with a note on the inside covers saying, "Beware, this book is filled with heresy." I also have many post Vatican II books that, while free of heresy, are filled with...mmm...how shall I put this? Nonsense? Or a little less polite...bull manure!

Recently I picked up a book called The New Question Box: Catholic Life in the 80s by Fr. John J. Dietzen, a priest from Peoria (RIP) who wrote a regular column that appeared in many diocesan newspapers and was distributed by Catholic News Service for about 35 years. He died in 2011. After browsing the book I'm less than impressed. No wonder so many post Vatican II Catholics are so ill informed.
