ÊCONE, Switzerland (LifeSiteNews) — The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) is celebrating the consecrations of four new bishops today, July 1.
Bishops Bernard Fellay of Switzerland and Alfonso de Galarreta of Argentina will preside. The four priests to be consecrated are Fathers Michael Goldade (USA), Pascal Schreiber (Switzerland), Michael Poinsinet de Sivry, and Marc Hanappier (France) to the episcopate.
Despite many requests from the SSPX, the traditional order of priests founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1970, Pope Leo has not granted permission for the consecrations to take place.

They are in schism and now another Protestant church. How can you support this? What will they look like in 10 years. So very sad to see this happen.
ReplyDeleteYou can know how they will look because it is almost 40 years after the 1988 consecrations. They will continue to pass on the faith as Archbishop Lefebvre did. On the other hand how will the synodal and conciliar church look like in ten years. We know that too because we've seen Pachamama honored in the papal gardens and a plant representing the idol on the altar at St. Peter's. We've seen homosexuals flaunt their lifestyle in Rome's churches during their LGBTQ pilgrimage. We've seen the underground Chinese bishops betrayed and the Communist government naming bishops. Your comment is ridiculous on its face. Like St. Athanasius said they [the Arians, now the modernists] have the church buildings, we have the faith. Listen to Fr. Pagliarani's homily. We love the pope, we hate what he is allowing, i.e., scandal and error in the heart of the Church. I agree that it's sad, but what's sad is to see the vicars of Christ betray Jesus Christ Himself.
DeleteThey were faithful to the Magisterium for 40 years, but now they aren’t by ordaining out of apostolic grace. Interesting how they made their fateful decision in the 40th year and it was a monster of a storm during mass. Time will show and Truth will out. This isn’t just about preaching protest like our previous Saints did. This is disobedience and ordaining outside the Church. Pride is always the root. Please remember that, even for yourselves. DeleteI'm baffled by this comment. They ordained "out of apostolic grace" 40 years ago and AB Lefebvre and the newly consecrated bishops were excommunicated. As for the storm, I see that as the demons rising up in outrage. I agree with what you say about pride and there's lots of that shown by the Vatican curia these days. Time will tell. As Gamaliel said to the Sanhedrin, if it's not from God it will disappear; if it's from God the curia will be fighting with God. By their fruits you shall know them and the fruits of the Society are an abundant harvest. Meanwhile, we continue to pray for the pope and the Vatican curia just as I'm sure Athanasius did for the Arians.
