I haven't said anything about Lindsay Clancy up to now because the entire situation is like a horror story and I hate horror stories, especially when it involves harming children. It's hard to wrap your mind around such an evil deed as a mother strangling her three little ones.
Defending unborn babies has been a lifelong battle for me because I always felt those babies were siblings to my own children. I remember the days when the pro-aborts said they wanted abortion to be safe, legal, and rare. Now, only 50 years later, they justify killing the baby in the birth canal and promote infanticide for unwanted or sick babies after birth. They apparently see no problem with jabbing the baby in the heart or stabbing the little one in the neck and sucking out the brains. It's hard to imagine the barbarism in the heart of so many women, not to mention the men who encourage them.
And now these descendants of Lady Macbeth justify strangling born children because of postpartum depression. Not only that, but the pink brigade is blaming the husband. Talk about toxic women. Do you think they'd be demonstrating and supporting a father who killed his children? I wonder how many of these women are post abortive justifying their own acts of child-killing.
The insanity over the Lindsay Clancy trial is surreal. The woman admitted killing her little ones. Both the prosecution and the defense agree that she did it, but that hasn't kept the Clancy sympathizers from claiming Dad did it. Even if he didn't do it, it's obviously his fault. Pick a reason, any reason. Maybe he heard the same voices Lindsay says she did. Although she never said she heard voices before the murders according to testimony from the medical people involved in her treatment.
Psychiatrists testifying at the trial disagreed on her level of responsibility. [See here.] As she killed each of the children she told them to, "Go to God." That brought to mind my years sidewalk counseling at the abortuary in Falls Church, VA where I got to know a deathscort named Jim pretty well. He was a retired postman and often gave me little notes saying the babies were going back to God. That's true, of course, they are innocent lambs. Those who kill them are not. Whether they are morally responsible will ultimately be God's judgment. Post partum depression is real, but does it really excuse cold-blooded murder?
The evidence at the trial indicated that Clancy planned and premeditated the deaths, which certainly justifies the guilty verdict of the man who caused the hung jury. According to her husband (now ex-husband), Clancy seemed to be having a good day. She sent him off on errands and calculated how much time he would be gone while she strangled the little ones.
The situation is tragic but the children seem invisible to all those defending the killing. The mom is one more innocent victim in their eyes. The children are just collateral damage. All the blame can be cast on the father and the medical community. They absolve Clancy of any responsibility. I don't know what the level of her guilt is. Ultimately, God will judge. In the meantime, the state does the best it can to exact justice. We will see if the prosecution decides to retry the case.
One thing going on now which is reprehensible is the massive doxing of the male juror who was unconvinced that Clancy was so mentally ill she couldn't be responsible for the murders. The women jurors (What's a woman?) were furious and claimed he didn't follow the judge's description of "reasonable doubt." The defense lawyer, Kevin Reddington, tried to get him replaced as a jury member, an attempt that failed. Then he put a target on his back by attacking him in public and making it clear that the lone holdout juror was one of the three men on the panel. How long before we see the juror's name and address in the media? I pray that a lawsuit or ethics violation will be brought against Reddington.
What's the impact of all this cheering for Clancy claiming that postpartum depression made her kill her babies? Well, there appears to be a copy-cat killer mom in Illinois, fascinated by the Clancy case, who murdered her two-year-old in a similar way. The investigation has just begun and the headline below is somewhat misleading since the police have not linked the child's death to the Clancy trial. But a copycat killing is certainly possible.

I pray we don't see more of these killings, but there are so many irrational and, dare I say, evil people out there that I wouldn't be surprised. A society that legalizes the murder of children up to birth and the assisted suicide and euthanizing of useless eaters is unlikely to put on the brakes. It's just the next stage in the culture of death. Are we going to see "The devil made me do it!" put forth as a legitimate defense?

Let us pray to the Lord of Life for the conversion of the world. In this month dedicated to the angels let us call on St. Michael and our guardian angels to thrust into hell all the demons prowling the world seeking the destruction of souls. I'll be praying for Lindsay Clancy and Corie Walsh and all those moms tempted to kill their children either before or after birth.

Don't know how relevant this is but the thoughts were prompted by your post. I think there are wives out there who long for their husbands to be firm with them occasionally: they long for a strong connection and anger is part of that as much as love and kindness are. Clear orders, backed by genuine feelings, are preferable to endless vague instructions. Endless instructions and passive rage are 'controlling'. However many husbands are refusing to feel because they are secretly afraid of God. And of course there's now a taboo on being angry with a woman, any woman. They're afraid of that, too.
ReplyDeleteI find that the essential thing is to recognize whether something is good or bad. If someone commits a terrible crime that people cannot imagine doing themselves, well, good, they shouldn't imagine that. There is no reason to psych oneself into trying to be "empathetic". Only the person who did it knows why. What ends up happening is that men will sociologize it as something that "just happens" according to social conditions and women will work themselves up to sympathizing with the perpetrator. Neither is good.

Why is everyone ignoring the ssris that were stacked on top of Lindsay and which did the actual work of murder?

DeleteI would add to the ignored topics that of the missing "village" for new mothers. When women flooded the labor marketplace, not only did men's wages plummet, but neighborhoods emptied, leaving new mothers without a support network!
DeletePerhaps the purveyors of ssris, now that these potions have been established not to work but to harm, might take a break from the work force and try their hands at stay at home, rather than stay away, motherhood. They might help people in their own community taper off safely.

Hugh O"Flaherty visited the war criminal Herbert Kappler, German head of the SS in Rome, every month for ten years, He baptized him into the Catholic faith. No sin is too big for God.
DeleteMy local news in the morning (no I don't live in the northeast either) took a few minutes every day last week to cover this case. From what I can tell Clancy planned the details beforehand.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is she should have gotten some jail time. Had Clancy received jail time i think she probably would have served it in a women's minimum security area since she's a quadriplegic. I was surprised she wasn't found guilty.
Was she practicing Yoga? Perhaps she was possessed.

She put a band around her childrens necks and squeezed until the eyes that trusted Mom bulged out and went blind before death overtook them. There is no excuse possible and she must face justice these babies deserve it. ReplyDeleteI agree. And there is some question as to whether she really wanted to kill herself. It looks like she didn't jump out of the window but hanged on the window ledge and dropped. And it all brings to mind the woman, Susan Smith, who pushed her car into the lake with her little ones strapped in their car seats because the man she was dating didn't want the kids. She received a life sentence with parole possible after 30 years. Sounds like an outcome appropriate for Lindsay Clancy.

The feminists first choose the devil's intervention to unsex themselves and destroy their natural feminine nature and then embody the child killing nature of Medea. And the men who support their killing are illustrated by Goya's painting, Saturn eating his children.
