I have to laugh over the absolute mouth-foaming rhetoric coming out of some leftists about Donald Trump. Harry Potter author Rawlings called him "worse than Voldemart!" Ooooooo! That really makes me scared, but I'm just a dumb muggle after all. What do I know? Then there's actor Adam Baldwin tweeting that he's "Darth Trump." In fact that's become a standing joke. There's even a Star Wars video where they dub in Trump talking in place of Vader's lines. Sounds like free publicity to me. But are you hiding under the bed yet?

 Dave Griffey makes the case that Mark Shea is simply an internet version of Donald Trump, a man he routinely castigates. I don't usually point people to Patheos, but this article is so on target about Mark Shea, I had to link.

How can I be so heartless and judgmental to compare Mark to Trump? Or compare others on Social Media to Trump? Easy. I read. I listen to Trump and what people criticize him for, and then visit various Facebook pages, including Mark’s, and I see no difference. Trump, beyond the policies he advocates – when we can figure them out – is brash, crude, rude, vulgar, sinful, mean spirited, ill-informed and simply a lousy person because of how he interacts with others and treats others who dare disagree with him.

So how is that different than Mark, or even Mark’s own followers? Or the followers on any one of a million sites?

Do You Use Google as Your Search Engine? If You Love Truth, Switch!

I'm looking at search engines to see which I want to use as my default. I hate Google. Whenever I search I'm deluged with all the liberal outlets: NY Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, etc. If I want a conservative opinion, I often have to type in a specific outlet.  I decided to compare what I would get from various search engines if I typed in "election fraud." Here are the first six results from the five search engines I looked at: Google, Bing, Dogpile, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo. I looked at a lot more than the first six entries. As a result of this, my go-to search engines will be Dogpile and DuckDuckGo. Good-bye, Google and Yahoo. I was never a Bing user and I never will be after looking at their results.

Speak Now Or Deserve What You Get! Write to Donald Trump!

Politicians are as fickle as false lovers. They say whatever they think they need to say in order to win or stay in office. As Lord Acton said, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." And we've seen the corruption of good men over and over in politics.

I spent a number of years working for the Republican party in a somewhat lackluster way. Politics was never something I enjoyed. In the early days back in the 1970s and 80s, all the pro-life politicos told us to just shut up about abortion during campaigns because it only lost them votes.

The vote also illustrates what's at stake in the upcoming presidential election. I respect many of the people who say they will NEVER vote for Trump, but I strongly disagree with them. The next president will likely name several justices to the Supreme Court as well as dozens or even hundreds to the federal system.

Can the Trump Haters at Least Base Their Opinions on Something besides Feelings?

We live in a culture of feelings. Many people today replace thoughts with whatever visceral reaction they have at the moment. Perhaps they feel the way they do because they ate a piece of bad meat, as C.S. Lewis once observed, but don't disturb them with a request for facts. They know what they know because they feeeeel it's so. 

That was my reaction this morning when a friend sent me an article by Jason Taylor. I'm not familiar with him, in fact I never heard of him before, but he says he's pro-life and he sure hates Trump. He makes a few general statements like:

The news is abuzz with commentary over Obama's move to impose sanctions against Russia in response to its supposed cyber-attack in the 2016 election which marred Hillary's reputation and contributed greatly to Donald Trump's victory.

The problem is that Obama has not imposed any sanctions against Russia. It's a false flag. This is being done to solidify the fake news that Russia aided Trump's victory by "hacking" the DNC—something they never did—so that America will protest Trump's inauguration.

Trump has 10.7 million followers on Twitter, compared to 6.1 million followers for Hillary. According to the Washington Examiner, 41 percent of Hillary's twitter followers are not even real people. Trump averages 30,000 viewers per live stream, while Clinton averages 500 viewers per live stream. On Reddit Trump has 197,696 subscribers, while Hillary has only 24,429 subscribers. We can understand now why Hillary has been paying people to support her online, as was revealed by the DNC's leaked emails from Wikileaks.

When I mention "The Dark Side of the Moon" to most people younger than me they assume immediately I am referring to a rock band, but what I have in mind is far from entertainment of any kind.  It is the title of a book published in London in 1946, with a preface written by T.S. The General had collected many personal testimonies of Poles who had been subjected to the most unthinkable horrors at the hands of the Russians who took them captive and used them as slave labor and worse.  It is widely speculated that the crash was in fact not an accident, but rather an assassination.  As long as their beloved leader was alive, the hopes of the Polish army held captive by the Russians was also alive and well and the possibility of having them transfer this loyalty to the Russians against the Germans didn't stand a chance.  Without his inspiration and the dream of regaining their country, they would fight anyone, alongside anyone, simply to survive.

Yes, Catholics, You Can Morally Vote for Donald Trump!

You cannot morally vote for Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine and their pro-abort, pro-same-sex marriage mandates. (Mark Shea, you are dead wrong and will be held morally accountable for telling Catholics to vote for that evil duo!) Clinton's positions and the Democratic platform are so evil, she and her party are disqualified.

You do not HAVE to vote for Donald Trump. If you're conscience tells you not to support either candidate, that is a justifiable moral choice. I've been there myself at times in the voting booth.

But you MAY morally vote for Trump with the hope that he will limit the evils facing us and give us time, as John Vennari points out, to raise our children and grandchildren.

Chilton Williamason had an interesting editorial in the October issue of Chronicles titled Who's the Most Hateful of Them All? He, I believe accurately, lays the mounting hatred and divisions in our country at the feet of white liberals who created the "condemnatory category of 'dead white males'" and labeled the white race "the cancer of history."

Note that these statements are all made by celebrities whose positions essentially give them a bullhorn for advertising their hatred. 

Rachel Maddow did a show back in 2009 titled "A Disturbing Summary of the Death Threats against Obama and Other Democrats."

The difference between these two lists is that most of the threats listed by Maddow were individuals outside townhalls or making anonymous phone calls who had no platform to shout from the housetops. Only a handful of people (if that) were aware of their vitriol and hatred and could have been stirred up by it. Nobody was making rap videos or staging plays that urged the murder of Obama. These individuals didn't have audiences in the millions that they could stir up to violence. They also didn't have George Soros-backed organizations fomenting violence in the streets with paid thugs.
