Well, hey, "retreats" held on cruise ships are a great way to meet new friends. Remember the sitcom called "The Love Boat?" Somehow, I don't think the "retreat" at sea is about love of God. More like love of pleasure. Presumably, Gary is an expert on that.

I take seriously the biblical admonition not to call your brother "raca." But, really, there are so many out there trolling the internet and enjoying the power of anonymous insults!

Sometimes I can't help uttering a guffaw when I get an email telling me about CM's latest comedy show and go to check it out. These days I rarely waste two seconds at CM in six months, but today I watched Simon Rafe's lecture to viewers (on the donation page, of course). His message? Pony up, you Catholic deadbeats!

 I hope this note finds you well. You’ve probably seen it already but if not, Frank Walker at Canon 212 has a red headline about the latest Christine Niles attack on the SSPX. I quickly glanced at it because I don’t want to be a metric in their favor. Long story short, the allegations in this article are WAY too graphic. I stand by my earlier opinion that CM is a porn site. At some point, I hope the SSPX will sue them.

Have you ever noticed that most of Church Militant's non-scandalous content is behind a pay wall for "premium subscribers." Their bread and butter and click bait is salacious scandal. Do great evils need to be exposed? Yes. But take a look at The Remnant, Catholic Family News, LifeSiteNews, and other mature Catholic media  and compare the difference in the way things are covered. Some Things are Worth Repeating: The SSPX Revisited

Editor's Note: I wrote this post in the midst of the lockdowns in 2020. In view of Church Militant engaging in their latest attack on the SSPX, I thought it was worth repeating. John Salvi, CM's "expert," is an apologist with absolutely no authority in the Church. Michael Voris, although he postures as an authority on just about everything, is a big-mouthed layman with a microphone and a green screen. He has absolutely no authority either. It's interesting that part of John Salvi's "expertise," discussed in this video, is his history as a 32nd degree Mason. He uses his wicked past as a credential. Voris rarely talks about his wicked past as an active homosexual and only revealed it when it was about to become public. Neither of these men, Voris or Salvi, are authorities and their statement that the SSPX is in schism is an opinion, nothing more. Voris has made attacking other Catholics a staple of his yellow journalism. Listening to him is like reading the tabloids at the grocery store checkout. Sensationalism unmasked! Augustine Inferrera, Church Militant's whistleblower, did experience two episodes where a monk supervising the building project, Brother Joseph, lost his temper with the young man and physically assaulted him. The brother was charged with simple assault and had to go to court where he pled guilty and expressed his regret. There were no injuries although Augustine reiterates over and over how "violent" Bother Joseph is (a regular Jack the Ripper) and essentially demanded his expulsion. Augustine claims there was no provocation, but we only hear his side of the story. Apparently there were witnesses. What did they say about the events? Did anyone have to physically pull the mad monk off Augustine?

Since the airing of these two hit pieces, push back is coming from former novices who, unlike CM's whistleblower, (He was at the monastery for LESS THAN A MONTH.) spent a combined total of over SEVEN YEARS with the monks some of it overlapping the whistleblower's time there. Going Out Like a Lion: The Predictable Repeated Attacks on the SSPX by Church Militant!

Surprise! Surprise! Church Militant is coming out with another hit piece on the SSPX. It's become their M.O. so no one should be surprised. I know nothing at this point about the piece except that I watched the promo. It's scheduled to air on March 31st and crackerjack investigator, Christine Niles, introduces it with the title "Black Trads Matter." Note the snide ridicule. Always, always, those of us devoted to the traditional Latin Mass are described and dismissed as "trads." That is a typical propaganda tool and one of Alinsky's rules for radicals. You freeze the opponent and then ridicule him. It's a tactic well known throughout history. Think of the terms kike, mackeral-eater, spic, cracker, nigger, gook, cockroach, etc. ad nauseum. CM is expert at that particular propaganda tool when it comes to labelling orthodox Catholics who attend the Latin Mass. Check out this brief description from Propaganda 101:

In my first post on the Resistance podcast by Dave Gordon and Joe Gallagher where they attacked the pro-life movement, I addressed their rabid vitriol against former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson. But condemning Abby was only the preamble to their misogynistic rant, one that reveals their lack of respect for women and our place in God's plan. [N.B. These two guys sound very much alike, so, in transcribing the podcast, I wasn't always certain who was speaking. Since their brains are cloned it probably doesn't matter, but I may have mis-labeled some of the conversation attributing it to the wrong speaker.]
