Church Militant: Sympathetic to Perverts!

Did you ever notice how fortune tellers fill their windows with religious objects as props? Does Church Militant do the same?

I have to shake my head over the hypocrisy of Church Militant. Let's go back once again to their April 20, 2020 hit piece on the SSPX. The title, as you may recall, was SSPX: Sympathetic to Perverts. The title appears to have come from a letter an SSPX parishioner wrote to Bishop Fellay about layman, James Simmerman, a convicted child abuser who spent four years in jail for molesting two young girls in the congregation. A wealthy man, Simmerman also settled a $3 million lawsuit with the families involved. CM quotes from the letter to Fellay including the "sympathetic to perverts" comment that became the title of their Spotlight:

Before we move on to the game of tetherball I'd like to address the (most recent) double standard practiced at Church Militant when they hosted a sedevacantist on their panel of 9 diocesan priests "who have been sidelined in varying capacities for being faithful". (Here)

One of those priests, Fr Stephen Lefort, after being dismissed by his bishop, became a sedevacantist and was conditionally re-ordained by a Thuc-line bishop.

What a double standard for Church Militant! Yet isn't this par for the course in Vorisland? Michael Voris and Christine Niles "constantly state that the SSPX are a bad group of untouchable schismatic victimizers, yet Fr Stephen Lefort, who has actually done schismatic acts and has put himself under a dubious bishop, is treated no differently than the good guys on the panel, nor are any of his schismatic acts disclosed by Church Militant."

Why would anyone believe the frenzied sensationalism and ranting screeds of Voris and Niles? We, as reasonable people, shouldn't believe them and the game of tetherball explains why. Tetherball is a game where two people strike a volleyball suspended from a stationary metal pole by a rope or tether. The pole is usually 10 feet high with the rope connecting the pole and tetherball being 8 feet long. The two players hit the ball clockwise or counterclockwise until one player manages to wind the ball all the way around the pole as far as it will go until it hits the pole. Of course the closer to the pole, the shorter the rope.

Michael Voris and Church Militant are like tetherball. The entity "Church Militant" and all its actions are the pole. Michael Voris is the ball, tethered to the pole. Connecting Church Militant (the pole) and Michael Voris (the ball) is the rope (MONEY).

UPDATE: The statement is now linked on the home page. Christine Niles has also released a video about her own resignation. Michael Voris' has released a video on X. In the midst of all this, Simon Rafe has sent out a message asking for...guess what...more money. As long as Simon, author of the Darknight game, is involved with CM, I'm outta there. Keep everyone in prayer, but spend your money wisely on apostolates that are really saving souls.

Church Militant's Hatred for the SSPX Explained: Part I

Looking at the past can often be the magnifying glass that explains the present. Since so many have wondered about the fanatical hatred Church Militant (CM) has for the SSPX, I decided to take a good hard look at the origins of Real Catholic TV/Church Militant/St. Michael's Media and their financial and personal connections to Opus Dei. What an eye-opening search. Michael Voris and his team have been liars from the very beginning, hiding their personal and financial connections to Opus Dei and others with a rabid hatred for the Society. The lying and hypocrisy are deep and wide.

Watching the boxing match between Michael Voris and Mike, the Marine, Parrott is like being at Madison Square Garden. Get your popcorn and beer and settle in for the show. And don't forget your boxing gloves in case you get dragged into the ring by Michael Voris. He just loves to take on all the rad trads, pedo enablers, and cult members out there.... If you disagree with anything he says, be sure you are one of them!

Unfortunately for schoolyard bully, Michael Voris, he's met his match in Mike the Marine who is not backing down from CM's lawsuit. Good for you, Mike. Stand up to the bullies at CM! They just love lawsuits and if it means violating the Scriptural admonition not to drag your brother into court, too bad:

UPDATE 7-25: Mike Voris comes back addressing the criticism leveled at Church Militant TV after running the initial report. I can't disagree with any of Mike Voris' comments and his conclusion that men with same-sex attraction SHOULD NOT BE IN THE SEMINARY. If men in towels are an occasion of sin to seminarians, those men SHOULD NOT BE IN THE SEMINARY! Check out Voris' response here.

UPDATE 7-22: And then again...maybe not. I received this email from a friend. Sometimes you aren't sure who to believe. But in view of Mike Voris' own words about the excellent teaching at the seminary...well...did his source have an ax to grind? Of course, the same thing was said about Michael Rose's sources for Good-Bye, Good Men. (Sigh.)

Dear Colleagues, Before I address Michael Voris' scurrilous account of a house meeting which I conducted in the fall of the 2014-2015 school year, I would like to pose a question. Should we be surprised that as we (Dr. Smith, et al) host a conference on the whole issue of SSA that the enemy would fire broadsides at us? Let's pray to St, Michael and St. Benedict for our protection, also, let us pray for the courage to resist an evil report. First, the statement attributed to a faculty member was a misquote of a statement I made to the Theology House.

I can't say I was especially surprised by the revelation that Michael Voris' past sins involved living an active homosexual lifestyle. He's candid about being a terrible sinner before he reverted to the faith, and that, had he died during that period of his life, he would have spent eternity in hell. He's also expressed great love and appreciation for his mother and her willingness, like Our Blessed Mother, to suffer anything to rescue her sinful children. Like Mary, Michael's mom was willing to experience her own personal crucifixion for the salvation of one specific beloved sinner.

In one sense, this revelation is just. Michael dishes it out and those who hate him, his "tone", and his targeting of higher-ups in the Church are probably chortling. They obviously want to discredit him as a liar and hypocrite. But this doesn't do it. I myself have many sins of my youth. Like Michael, I repented and perhaps those sins made me "love much" more than I would have if I'd never strayed from God's laws.

Joke of the day? The only media you can trust is Church Militant! Hahahahahaha!

Michael Voris is at it again -- reporting from Baltimore about the massive crowd (Really...1500?) coming to his rally tomorrow. As usual Voris preens and postures as he promotes Church Militant (CM) as the only courageous team willing to take on the evil bishops, every one of whom should immediately resign. (Yes, he said that in another Vortex episode since the bishops are all homosexuals, homosexual enablers, or cowards, not to mention "Johns" paying their whores in the media to pick on poor CM. Yup, he called and/or implied that the bishops as a group are cruising "Johns" looking for their latest hooker pickup. (Obviously Voris knows a lot about cruising for pickups. As my mom always said, "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.")

My husband and I once told one of our teenage children whom we caught in a serious lie, that the worst thing about it was the loss of trust. We had never known that child to lie to us. It also put the child and a friend in an extremely dangerous situation. "Your word is who you are," we said, "How can we trust you now?"

The last gospel of the traditional Latin Mass says, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Our word is our sacred bond. And when we lie, we break that bond and can no longer be trusted.

Which brings me to the liars at Church Militant.

Who Sounds More Like a Faithful Catholic? Michael Matt or Michael Voris?

Once there were two Michaels. Both were named after the warrior archangel and both used the media to promote their message. Both Michaels made videos and wrote articles to get their messages out and raise a Catholic army to fight for the faith. One Michael’s banner bore the cross of Christ the King and, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather (who founded the oldest Catholic newspaper in the county, The Wanderer), this Michael defended the faith of our fathers. He called on  his army to pick up their rosaries and rally round Scripture, Church doctrine, and Holy Tradition. He urged faithful Catholics to resist to the face the pope and those bishops undermining 2000 years of Church teaching and tradition.

The other Michael began well. He also urged his followers to fight for the faith. Many didn’t like his tone, but, frustrated with the infidelity of wolves in Roman collars, appreciated his spunk. His voice often spoke for them. But then something happened to this Michael. What exactly? Pride? Vanity? Too much love for the limelight? Desire for clicks by reporting ever more scandalous stories? Money interests?

Duh! Because they want your money, of course.

I Didn't Think Church Militant Could Go Any Lower -- And Then They Attacked the Pro-Life Movement!

Church Militant reached a new low when they let two sanctimonious, self-righteous boys (Dave Gordon and Joe Gallagher) do a Resistance podcast titled, Why the Pro-Life Movement is so Pathetic. They illustrated pathetic all right -- just how pathetic Church Militant (CM) and their phony "resistance" movement is. They proceeded to trash the pro-life movement as a whole, with particular vitriol leveled at the March for Life (MfL)!

A lot of people really have a hate-on for Michael Voris. But it takes courage to go out and actually enter the belly of the beast and talk to folks who vehemently disagree with you. Like the sidewalk counselors at abortion mills who try to save lives and souls from the abortionist/gods of human sacrifice, men (and I do mean men) like Michael Voris have the courage and love of souls to speak the truth in charity.

If you go to a doctor to treat an illness, you want him to respect you enough to give you the hard truth. You want to know how to fight the disease aggressively.

If you have a disease of the soul you need a spiritual doctor who will tell you the hard truth and help you cut out the spiritual cancer that's killing your soul. Parents who affirm their children in sin because they don't want to face their wrath or rejection DO NOT LOVE THEIR CHILDREN.  They love themselves -- so much so that they would rather see their children in hell than feel their rage.

Spiritual fathers (like many of our bishops) lack the courage to tell the truth. They would rather tickle ears to win praise and acceptance from the world rather than be ridiculed and condemned. Who do they love? Surely not the sheep. If they loved the sheep, they would defend them from the wolves. They love themselves.

Michael Voris is a modern-day prophet walking in the steps of those sent by God to warn the people of Israel to return to the way of the Lord, the way prepared by the precursor of Christ. As St. John the Baptist "crying in the wilderness" said, "Reform your lives! The reign of God is at hand." Not a single soul in unrepented mortal sin will enter heaven. Don't let yourself or your loved ones be in that unhappy company on Judgment Day.

Looking at pictures of cult leaders it seems that hair is a significant magnet to draw followers to a particular cult leader, and Michael Voris certainly has a lot of hair. 

In addition to hair, here's an interesting list of how to recognize a cult. Church Militant seems to fit every one of the following ten descriptions so are they a cult? My comments are in red.

Church Militant’s Hatred for the SSPX Explained: Part 3 - Do Opus Dei and Church Militant Share a Nest?

Birds of a feather flock together….and sometimes nest together as well!

For 25 years I have published a quarterly newsletter in the Diocese of Arlington. I use my personal home address for mailing rather than a P.O. Box. Anyone who noticed that the address for the newsletter and my home address are the same could reasonably conclude that I am deeply involved and committed to the work. In fact, it would be unreasonable to conclude that I had nothing to do with it. My name is actually on the newsletter, but let’s presume for my point, that I published anonymously. It wouldn’t take much of a Sherlock to figure out my connection. 

Which brings us back to the connections between Church Militant, Opus Dei, and Opus Dei supporters. 

Mike Voris: The Stoning of a Prophet

Mike Voris of Real Catholic TV is a prophet. Like John the Baptist he doesn't mince words about the crisis in the Church in America. And, like John, the powers that be are not too happy. Sooooo, what do pharisees do to prophets? They (take your pick) throw them in the well (try to get them out of sight and mind), stone them (with calumny and detraction), and kill them (eliminate their ministry). The Diocese of Scranton recently banned Voris from speaking although homosexual activists speaking at a local Catholic college are no problemo. Voris, on the other hand, is offensive to them. Where have we heard that before?

But according to an article by Matt Abbott at Renew America, the real Voris assassins are in the Diocese of Detroit where Real Catholic TV originates. Now I've been to Detroit and attended a Mass where the padre skipped the creed and took umbrage with me for saying something after Mass. (I was respectful and cheerful and began with a compliment.) In fact, according to my husband who witnessed it, the priest gave me the single digit salute as I walked away. (See article here.) A friend who attended another parish nearby for Mass the same day left when the priest changed the words of the Consecration. So let's just say, Detroit has a few problems.

The diocese over the years gave the Church a number of the worst heterodox bishops (Gumbleton and Untener among them) and was (is?) a hotbed of homosexuality. Call to Action had its origin in Detroit as well. But the Lord has a habit of raising up prophets in the very places they are most needed. So Real Catholic TV's presence there is no surprise. And neither is the attack on Voris' prophetic voice.

The new Archbishop (Vigneron) has a reputation for quietly working behind the scenes to restore the faith. I'm not sure the quiet approach can work very effectively in the Augean Stables. I think the archbishop may need to find a river to redirect through his filthy chancery. Let's hope he can turn things around before the faith disappears entirely in Detroit.

So pray for Michael Voris and all the pharisees in the U.S. Church who widen their phylactories and parade their pro-life credentials once a year when they attend the March for Life and then return home and fund every anti-life, pro-homosexual, democrat-supporting community organizing group they can find. There is, indeed, a schism in the U.S. Church, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It is better for evil to be out in the open. It's easier to fight when you can see the enemy.

God bless Mike Voris and all those in the Church today who are courageous enough to speak the truth. May they reap a prophet's reward.

To continue yesterday's story...

Augustine Inferrera, Church Militant's whistleblower, did experience two episodes where a monk supervising the building project, Brother Joseph, lost his temper with the young man and physically assaulted him. The brother was charged with simple assault and had to go to court where he pled guilty and expressed his regret. There were no injuries although Augustine reiterates over and over how "violent" Bother Joseph is (a regular Jack the Ripper) and essentially demanded his expulsion. Augustine claims there was no provocation, but we only hear his side of the story. Apparently there were witnesses. What did they say about the events? Did anyone have to physically pull the mad monk off Augustine?
