My Favorite Politician: Bob Marshall, Virginia Delegate

Bob Marshall is a man of principle who will never sell out to the special interests. He calls for constitutional governance. "Authority comes from the people.... This fight [healthcare] is a fight over whether you are a citizen or you are a serf!"

Read the Constitution and ask politicians the hard questions and support Bob Marshall. He is currently introducing a personhood amendment in Richmond. See the text below the video and the list of members of the Courts of Justice Committee who will be reviewing the bill. If you live in Virginia, ask for their support and please pray for passage of this bill.

  1. What was the outcome of the bill on Monday? Thanks!

  2. You do know that he believes that disabled children are God's judgment on women who have had abortions, right? What a GREAT man of God he is. He needs to be recalled, posthaste.

  3. That's ridiculous! Bob has never said any such thing. First of all, disabled children are no punishment to anyone. Check out the video on this blog - God doesn't make mistakes. Every family I know with a disabled child considers that little one a great blessing, not a punishment. And the Marshalls have nothing but compassion for women who have had abortions. Your statements show nothing but your own ignorance and willingness to slander behind the coward's wall of anonymity.

  4. "The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children.

"In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There's a special punishment Christians would suggest." - Bob Marshall

No need to spin that quote. It gives me a clear view into his thinking on abortion and the lengths he'll go to fight it with or without facts.

  5. There's an old saying: "God always forgives, man sometimes forgives, Nature never forgives." The fact is that abortion, especially aborting a first pregnancy damages the cervix which causes a high increase in premature births, the greatest cause of mental and physical disabilities in newborns. That's a fact of nature.

As for the punishment, ask the women of Silent No More. I think they would agree that they have experienced that punishment inherent in their actions. The bible says the sins of the fathers are visited on the children. Does that mean God is an evil being who zaps kids for the adults' sins? No, it means children suffer from their parents sins. Ask the children of abusive alcoholics if that's a fact. Or children of drug or alcoholic moms born with fetal alcohol syndrome or hooked on cocaine. Bob's statement is one of fact. Christians also preach absolute forgiveness for the repentant sinner. That's true compassion and hope. Bob would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. And your interpretation of his quote is a distortion.

  6. Bob Marshall is being slandered because of the false reporting of a student who misquoted him saying that he said handicapped children were God's punishment for abortion. Never happened. Check out the post and video below. What I described in my comments is exactly the point Bob was making. Choices have consequences and sometimes they're bad ones.
