When Will Fr. Pfleger Be Disciplined, Cardinal George?

  1. The German noun Pflege means rearing, tending, nurturing, fostering. Fr. Pfleger doesn't. The noun Pfleger is one who does the caring, etc - he doesn't do that either. Better he should change his name to Haßer (hater), Lüger (liar), or some such. God have mercy on him.

  2. Words are fascinating aren't they. And I'm always amused when someone's name is appropriate. What I see is P-Fleg. Looking up fleger, you find this most appropriate description:

noun: A manual threshing device consisting of a long wooden handle or staff and a shorter, free-swinging stick attached to its end.

transitive verb: To beat or strike with or as if with a flail: flailed our horses with the reins.

transitive verb: To wave or swing vigorously; thrash: flailed my arms to get their attention.

Now that sure sounds like Fr. Pfleger, doesn't it? The one thing he needs to flail is his breast with a penitent fist. God have mercy on him for his assault on the faith and his scandalizing of his flock. There is a millstone with his name on it if he doesn't repent.
