An Interesting Blog Post from an Ally in the Abortion Wars

An ally in the abortion wars, Fletcher Armstrong who directs the eastern arm of the Center for Bioethical Reform and runs the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) has a very interesting post based on the August 9th cover of Time Magazine. Here's what he says about the shocking photo:
In a surprising betrayal of left-wing kooks everywhere, Time Magazine has published (on its August 9, 2010 cover) a shocking and disturbing photo of 18-year-old Aisha, an Afghan woman who had her ears and nose cut off by the Taliban. Her crime? Trying to escape from abusive in-laws who beat her without mercy. She posed for the photo because she wants the world to see what a Taliban resurgence will do to the women of Afghanistan. Is the Taliban typical of Islam or an aberration? We've seen pictures from around the world of what is allowed under Sharia Law and in many democracies there are "no go zones" where local police take a hands off approach and allow another government within the government to operate. It's happening in the UK where Sharia courts are officially recognized. Sharia law favors the interests of men over women in some cases. Many courthouses in the U.S. show Lady Justice blindfolded. That's apparently an alien concept in Sharia. How should the U.S. respond to the demand that Muslims should have their own lawcourts operated according to Sharia? And if we allow that, should we also allow women to be stoned to death for adultery?

  1. That picture is enough to make a person sick, the treatment Aisha got is enough to make a person even sicker, and the "religion" that did that to her is enough to gag a maggot.

  2. PS - I posted the picture and the link on Facebook about ten hours ago. Not one comment. Are people indifferent, or so cowed by Political Correctness they don't dare say anything?

  3. Neither. Most of the women are at the new Twilight movie gushing over a teenage vampire and most of the men are watching baseball or golf on TV.
