Obama should be impeached!

I had lunch today with two friends, a married couple. The husband, who is black, expressed his fury with Obama and his concern that he'd be reelected. We agreed that one benefit of a Herman Cain candidacy would be eliminating the race card. I could go for a Herman Cain/Michele Bachmann ticket. Wouldn't that be interesting? And thanks to Political Brambles for tipping me off to this video.

  1. That would be wonderful - if only the Republicans had control of the Senate. As it is, an impeachment attempt would be futile until the next election. Hopefully, the election itself will toss the Messiah Most Miserable out of the White House on his messianic rump.

  2. We can't wait till 2012 - the Obama/globalist machine has too many surprises to guarantee a 2012 victory (like alien voting). We were told to wait until 2010 to rollback Obama and look where that got us - the Republicrat morass. The only way to stop Obama is NOW.

I don't know who can lead us, though. Bachmann is good in many respects but has shown some crumbling under media pressure.

I think the person who leads and wins the impeachment proceedings is the one who deserves our vote in 2012.

  4. On what grounds should the president be impeached? Article 2 of the Constitution states:

"The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

The term "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" has been debated over the course of our country, but I still think that you would be hard pressed to legally impeach the President on these grounds.

Just not liking the President and his policies are not reason enough to impeach. People have been trying to get Obama out of office via the back door (birthers, etc.) ever since he was elected. Those methods are never going to work. The average small-town lawyer could get Obama off on an Impeachment charge.

If you have such great concerns, the best thing to do would be to try to find and viable candidate to replace him in 2012. However, the Republican party has broken with conservatives and therefore is unlikely to find such a candidate - one that would appeal to both conservatives, who are a vocal minority, and moderates, who are a fickle majority.

Things like this just further the divide.

  5. Let's see....He isn't eligible to be president in the first place. The long-form birth certificate appears to be an Adobe forgery. He's waged war without the consent of Congress, an act Joe Biden said in 2007 was an impeachable offense when he wanted to go after George Bush. Obama pledged $140 million to the IMF which he has NO CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY TO DO. The Congress appropriates money, not the executive branch.

But actually, this is all moot. The headline was introducing the video saying Obama should be impeached, it wasn't my recommendation. I agree with David Limbaugh that impeachment would likely backfire and a better strategy is beating him at the ballot box. But I agree with your assessment that the Republicans have broken with conservative. They are going the way of the Whigs.

  6. You had so much more credibility before you joined the crazies who believe the conspiracy-theory that Obama was not born in Hawaii. Now pretty much everything you say politically is suspect.

  7. The Founders definition of a Natural Born Citizen was one both of whose parents were citizens. The birth certificate is a forgery so one has no idea where Obama was born. He has yet to produce a valid birth certificate.

Name calling doesn't change the facts. He has been long on usurping powers that are not his to command through an exceptional use of Executive orders.

Whether these rise to the level of High Crimes etc. is for a jury to decide. Just because the Congress doesn't have enough spine to call him on his behavior doesn't mean that he's not guilty. But I do think that no one is going to call him on any of it.

If he was born in Hawaii (which is rather irrelevant) ... why does he have so much trouble producing a real birth certificate? I think that is troubling as is all the secrecy about nearly every aspect of his life. I can't imagine this going on like this were he a Republican. Only the collusion of the media and their daily spin machine lets him get away with this stuff.

  8. Here's a fact... I was born in HI in 1972 (both parents in the military). And my birth certificate looks just like the short copy of the President's. I've never gone to the trouble of requesting the long form because I haven't lived in HI since I was a year old. I grew up in a lot of places and foreign countries as an AF/Navy brat and every single government agency has accepted my good, old short Hawaiian birth certificate as valid.

How do you KNOW it is a fake? How do you explain the newspaper announcements? How about the people who were there? The man was born in Hawaii. His mother was a citizen. And by your definition, no child of immigrants could ever grow up to be President. I hardly believe that the founders had that in mind, since none of them had parents who were citizens!

It's difficult for those born befoer the digital age to provide a reproducible copy of your birth certificate. My brother's (from Ohio in '74) is on a crazy sheet of mud-brown paper that doesn't copy at all.

Use your energy to gainfully ELECT someone else if you are so fed up.

  9. I would vote for Herman Cain in a moment, but never that Bachmann woman. In fact, I am sick to death of these women in politics who, if possible, make even bigger fools of themselves than the men do.
