There is an inherent conflict of interest in government unions. Unions contribute to campaigns, then sit at the bargaining table with the officials they helped elect. It's a prescription for corruption and the rape of the taxpayers. Something's gotta give.

Money had nothing to do with it. Morality had everything to do with it. Right and wrong had everything to do with it. The unions lost their moral credibility when they started pushing such horros as abortion and same-sex marriage. Many of us were voting against our own self interest because of it. Many of us had to pay union dues with one hand while giving money to pro-life Republicans with the other. We became weary of such a split personality and just decided to "jump ship".
