Why the Love Affair with this Radical Marxist?

Winnie & Nelson Mandela & Joe Slovo give Commie salute
We live in the "1984" dystopia where history is continually re-written and reality is dropped down the memory hole. That is certainly happening with the idolatry of Nelson Mandela, a radical Marxist Communist and terrorist who was on the U.S. terrorist list up until 2008. He killed thousands of people through ordered bombings including at the Johannesburg Railway Station. He signed off on the execution of scores of innocent people and continued ordering violent murders from behind bars.

During his 27 years in prison in South Africa he was never tortured and was treated well, unlike the way he treated farmers and South African whites thousands of whom were murdered and continued to be murdered after apartheid ended. Even Amnesty International would not get involved to free Mandela because they recognized he was NOT a political prisoner but justly convicted of treason for admitted crimes of terrorism and sabotage. Had he been convicted in England or the U.S. he probably would have been executed. He certainly was no "prisoner of conscience."

Mandela favored and signed laws advancing abortion-on-demand, pornography, homosexuality, and even had the rights of perversion written into the constitution. He was a cheerleader for violent dictatorships. He wrote a book, How to be a Good Communist while claiming for years that he wasn't one. He described the work as a "rhetorical exercise." However, proof exists that puts that claim to the lie. During his trial for sabotage and terrorism he denied being a communist, a politically expedient move, since being a member of the Communist party was illegal in South Africa. But he was, in fact, a member of the party.

Many people have bought into the Nelson Mandela myth advanced by Clint Eastwood's film Invictus. The fact is, however, that the movie, like those glorifying sexual predators Harvey Milk and Alfred Kinsey, undermined the truth with pro-Mandela propaganda based on lies and distortions. Mandela was a secular humanist who openly admitted using violence or non-violence as tactics in the struggle to reach his goals. Like the Alinsky rules, he believed the end justifies the means, no matter how violent, an immoral proposition that allowed him to kill many innocent people in his crusade to end apartheid. It was especially disturbing to see Pope Francis join the chorus praising Mandela for "promoting the human dignity of all the nation’s citizens and in forging a new South Africa built on the firm foundations of non-violence, reconciliation and truth." In view of the millions of babies murdered by his abortion policies, Mandela was hardly a champion of "all the nation's citizens."

Pray for Nelson Mandela's soul, but don't join the lying rhapsody for this man who dedicated his life to the lie. It does him no good and turns truth on its head. Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.

  1. I agree that his communist background is ignored by the press.

However, it was mainly due to Mandela (and DeKlerk) that South Africa had a democratic transition without a civil war between the races, government confiscation of business and white owned farms, the genocidal cleansing of whites, or violence against minority black tribes, as happened in Zimbabwe.

And for this he deserves credit.

Of course, the danger is now that Mandela is dead, Zuma will decide to copy Mugabe...

  2. Thanks for your comment, Christina. You make a valid point.

On the other hand, during the decade that included Mandela's presidency thousands of South African white farmers were murdered. And he signed the most permissive abortion law in the world. Hundreds of thousands of babies have died due to his actions. So, on the one hand I suppose you can give him credit for preventing even greater bloodshed, a tactic that ensured his embrace by the liberals of the world, but you can't erase the fact he is knee-deep in blood, much of it his own people's. I cannot be a Mandela cheerleader.

Currently South Africa is a country steeped in problems. Two decades after the end of apartheid one would have hoped for a better outcome.

You can also read about the current state of genocide risk in South Africa in Genocide Watch's 2012 annual report. The situation there is troubling to say the least.
