The regret (bigtime) is out there, but, like women who regret their abortions, it's not politically correct to talk about it. The paragraphs from the article (below) indicate the regret is there and why you aren't hearing about it. How would you like to be targeted by the gender Nazis when you are already suffering deeply over a bad decision?
Read the entire story for sad personal testimonies. Sounds like we need a Silent No More campaign for these poor souls:
Our culture seems pretty much “to each his own” when it comes to elective bodily mutilation and the regret thereof. And there’s a lot of regret out there. According to a British poll, a whopping 65 percent of those who’ve had various cosmetic surgeries regret it....Hollywood stars can speak openly about misgivings over their boob jobs and whatnot. Regarding her lip enhancement surgery, Courtney Love said: “I just want the mouth God gave me back.”And here's the comment I left (currently awaiting moderation) on the post at Cal Catholic:
But the difference between Love and the guy with phantom penis syndrome is that the guy isn’t allowed to talk about his regret. Not openly. The transgender lobby actively polices and suppresses discussion of sex-change regret, and claims it’s rare (no more than “5 percent.”) However, if you do decide to “de-transition” to once again identify with the sex in your DNA, talking about it will get you targeted by trans activists. So it’s a challenge to understand the scope of regret for sex change surgery. It’s out there, but…
Thank you for this important article. I’m going to link to it from my blog. Too many people today are living in a dream world where they can somehow create a “reality” that doesn’t exist. Sex is in the DNA and you can no more make a man into a woman than you can make the moon into green cheese. This post also illustrates the law of unintended consequences. These poor souls think they will be happy when they’re living in their dream world. For so many, it's a lie that wakes them up too late to reality. Let’s pray for all these so-called transgendered folks. I always think of poor Chastity Bono who was so scandalized from the time she was a toddler. May God poor out his graces of healing and transformation on them — and I sure don’t mean transformation into something they are not. You can’t fool Mother Nature. It’s in the DNA!So shall we say a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for these folks today? Especially the gender Nazis? Women can never undo their abortions but they can heal and be transformed in Christ. Those who self-mutilate may not be able to undo the physical damage they've inflicted on themselves, but they can be transformed in Christ and accept and offer up the consequences of their acts. God can bring good out of any sin and he makes sinners into saints if they let him. So let's pray that all of us can "Just Say Yes!" to Jesus Christ and become what He wants us to be. The possibilities are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHere is my post submitted a few minutes earlier; I have corrected a typo:
Thanks for calling this issue to our attention. It dawned on me recently that "transgender" or "trannie" was created to avoid the traditional term for men who are castrated: "eunuchs." It truly is sad and tragic that they are misled into believing such mutilation will make them women.
It's the same for women who have their breasts removed and undergo other surgeries to attempt to become men. But those who don't have regrets become vicious and sue when such facts are brought up. These people claim to want society to tolerate and accept them, but they are not able to tolerate and accept others with traditional views.
But that's because we are homophobic haters who want to drag them out and lynch them, doncha know?
ReplyDeleteIt's Saul Alinsky's rules at work added to Kirk and Madsen's (After the Ball) Freeze your opponent and/or ridicule or "jam" him. I.e., keep repeating that he is evil and hateful for holding the values he holds.
