More Nonsense from Pope Francis Who Equates the Religion of War with Individual Sin

This is how we'll remodel St. Peters into a mosque
like we did to Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.

Here are pickup quotes from the full press conference on the papal plane (My comments in red.):
Question: ...why do you, when you speak of these violent events, always speak of terrorists, but never of Islam, never use the word Islam? And then, aside from prayer and dialogue, which are obviously essential, what concrete initiatives can you advise or suggest in order to counteract Islamic violence? Thank you, Holiness.
Pope Francis: I don’t like to speak of Islamic violence, because every day, when I browse the newspapers, I see violence, here in Italy… this one who has murdered his girlfriend, another who has murdered the mother-in-law… and these are baptized Catholics! (Apples and oranges: This equates random killings in the name of Islam which targets all infidels with individual specific acts committed out of passion, revenge, or personal interest.) There are violent Catholics! If I speak of Islamic violence, I must speak of Catholic violence . . . (Because so many Catholics are blowing themselves up, flying airplanes into skyscrapers, and beheading their neighbors? Really?) and no, not all Muslims are violent, not all Catholics are violent. It is like a fruit salad; there’s everything. There are violent persons of this religion… this is true: (Yes, and Muslims are spurred on by the tenets of that religion and are actually instructed by imams on means to kill as many people as possible with the least effort.) I believe that in pretty much every religion there is always a small group (A small group...Is this a joke?) of fundamentalists. Fundamentalists. We have them. When fundamentalism comes to kill, it can kill with the language (Language is equal to cutting throats and beheading people because they are Christian?) -- the Apostle James says this, not me -- and even with a knife, no? I do not believe it is right to identify Islam with violence. (Why not? The religion identifies itself with violent jihad in the name of Allah.) This is not right or true. I had a long conversation with the imam, the Grand Imam of the Al-Azhar University, and I know how they think (Is the pope serious here? He knows how they think? The Koran teaches that Muslims can lie to non-Muslims. How can any non-Muslim know how they think?) . . . They seek peace, encounter . . . The nuncio to an African country told me that the capital where he is there is a trail of people, always full, at the Jubilee Holy Door. And some approach the confessionals -- Catholics -- others to the benches to pray, but the majority go forward, to pray at the altar of Our Lady... these are Muslims, who want to make the Jubilee. (Yes, they -- at least some -- honor Our Lady, but they still are willing to close their eyes to the aspects of their faith that endorse killing their neighbors.) They are brothers, they live… When I was in Central Africa, I went to them, and even the imam came up on the Popemobile (So what's the point?)… We can coexist well (Tell that to the non-Muslims living in no-go zones.) … But there are fundamentalist groups, and even I ask… there is a question… How many young people, how many young people of our Europe, whom we have left empty of ideals, who do not have work… they take drugs, alcohol, or go there to enlist in fundamentalist groups. One can say that the so-called ISIS, but it is an Islamic State which presents itself as violent . . . because when they show us their identity cards, they show us how on the Libyan coast how they slit the Egyptians’ throats or other things… But this is a fundamentalist group which is called ISIS… but you cannot say, I do not believe, that it is true or right that Islam is terrorist. (Of course it is, Holy Father! As Congressman Tom McClintock has said, "Although Islam is a religion, it is often accompanied by a poisonous political ideology that is antithetical to everything our country stands for. That ideology now poses a direct threat to the liberty and safety of our people, and we have every right to defend ourselves against it." Thomas Aquinas would agree since he recognized the violence of Mohammed and his followers. It's truly ironic when a Congressman in the U.S. makes more sense than the pope.)

Oh, and here's what St. Thomas says about immigration.

And then this:
Question: Your concrete initiatives to counteract terrorism, violence?

Pope Francis: Terrorism is everywhere. You think of the tribal terrorism of some African countries. It is terrorism and also . . . But I don’t know if I say it because it is a little dangerous… Terrorism grows when there are no other options, and when the center of the global economy is the god of money and not the person -- men and women -- this is already the first terrorism! You have cast out the wonder of creation -- man and woman -- and you have put money in its place. This is a basic terrorism against all of humanity! Think about it! (Love of money is, indeed, the root of all evils; however, the pope's words imply that if we just equalize things -- i.e. become socialist, evil will disappear. Is the terrorism of Islam really related to money? Nations exporting it are among the richest in the world. No, it isn't money that causes Muslims to demand Sharia Law and the subjugation of non-Muslims. It's the religious politics of Islam!)
Read the Quran's violent verses and then see if you can describe it as a "religion of peace".

This excerpt from the end of the article is telling:
The most prestigious Islamic university in the world today is Cairo's al-Azhar. While the university is very quick to condemn secular Muslims who critique the religion, it has never condemned ISIS as a group of infidels despite horrific carnage in the name of Allah. When asked why, the university's Grand Imam, Ahmed al-Tayeb explained: " Al Azhar cannot accuse any [Muslim] of being a kafir [infidel], as long as he believes in Allah and the Last Day—even if he commits every atrocity."
For their part, Western liberals would do well not to sacrifice critical thinking to the god of political correctness, or look for reasons to bring other religion down to the level of Islam merely to avoid the existential truth that this it is both different and dangerous.
There are just too many Muslims who take the Quran literally... and too many others who couldn't care less about the violence done in the name of Islam.
Will people wake up before Islam conquers the West? Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

  1. I must admit, Mary Ann. I was really confused by this press conference by PF.

How in the world can one compare (as you so adroitly show in this excellent post) Islamic fundamentalism with so-called Catholic "fundamentalism"?

    Everything he says here:

"I see violence, here in Italy… this one who has murdered his girlfriend, another who has murdered the mother-in-law… and these are baptized Catholics!"

There are Muslims who do these things, too. Yet maybe not necessarily in the name of their religion (as we know and see in... a few papers, anyway).

I have yet to see, as you so *correctly show*, any Catholic "fundamentalist" blow up, behead, drive over, rape, and fly planes into innocent people *in the name of* the Catholic Faith.

    Yes, apples and oranges.

  2. The pope doesn't read the news because MANY MANY MANY ISIS fighters, especially those from the UK, were born into affluent families and/or their parents had businesses, and so forth. They weren't merely sitting around on door stoops from lack of money nor were they doing drugs in back alleys because they had nothing else to do. They were well fed, intelligent, educated middle to upper class youths.

About Islam PF has no clue. None. Zip. Zero. Whereas when a protestant wants to learn about the Catholic Church the best place to find correct information and the truth is an orthodox Catholic. It's the opposite with Islam. The best place to find correct information and the truth about Islam is NOT from an "orthodox" Muslim. Al Azhar U is a hotbed of radicals, and anti-West Islamic professors. They teach nothing but radical Islam.

So, please, PF, don't expect us to believe anyone from Al Azhar and we're not impressed that an Imam joined you on the popemobile while in Africa. In fact, people were shocked about that - the two of you standing together both dressed in white robes! It seemed as if the subliminal message was that Christianity and Islam are equal...which would mean that you think good and evil are equal, you think that Jesus and Muhammad are equal, and you think that orthodox Catholics and "orthodox" Muslims are the same when in fact they are the exact opposite. You're retiring when?

  3. Somebody take the microphone away from this man....Someone don't allow him to write.....the pope is clueless. As I say, they may be 10%, but 10% of a billion is just under a third of the US population.

  4. These Papal comments do not make sense IF you assume the "West" and it's Judeo-Christian heritage, based on Augistinan principles of the City of God-City of Man coexisting, and built together on the foundation of Christ's eternal Kingdom ...... is worth saving.

If you do no;, if you do not believe in Christ; if you believe in "Man", and wish to build a new kind of kingdom built on the foundation of Man and the brotherhood of Man, uniting all world religions as various expressions of the "Brotherhood of Man", then his statements and activities make more sense.

Read "Lord of the World" by Msgr Hugh Benson. He predicted this, as did so many seers over the ages, as did Holy Scripture. If Pope Francis is leading us to One World Church, united under U.N. Auspices is of course conjecture. I believe that it is so. All signs point to a loss of faith in Christ, and an elevation of Man to God's rightful throne.

Lord Of The World predicted this, as I said, 100 years ago, with precision. Right down to the condition of two Popes reigning at the same time. One Pope was visible. The other was hidden. One was acclaimed by the world. The other prayed silently, invisibly, but oh, so powerfully, with God Almighty. The book describes a descent into contemplative union with God that stunned me in its beauty and power.

God still reigns. He may only be visible in unexpected, mquiet, hidden places. Remember Pope Benedict's prophecy. The Church may very well be burned to the ground. What remains at the end will be a much, much smaller Church; but a Church eminently more faithful and true. Purified.

Stand firm! Be alert! Do not be discouraged! Prayer and Penance! Prayer and Penance! Again and again!
