Who Described the Communist Tyrant Fidel Castro in These Glowing Terms?

After the death of Fidel Castro, a famous person made the statement belowabout the tyrant who killed tens of thousands of his own people in a decades-long reign of terror where "justice" was dispensed by firing squad. So who do you think gave this deceptive picture of a "free and independent Cuba" ruled by the "inspiring example" of Fidel?

And without knowing who said it, what conclusions can you draw about the speaker? Is he honest? Would you buy a used car from him? Read the first half of the quote and make your guess because the second part of his statement on the next page is a give-away.

"I express to you and to all the Cuban people our deepest condolences over the death of the revolutionary leader, your brother Fidel Castro. The name of this outstanding statesman is considered to be a symbol of an entire era in the modern history of the world. A free and independent Cuba built by him and his colleagues became an influential member of the international community and has served as an inspiring example for many countries and peoples...."

Make your guess and then read more...

"This strong and wise man always looked to the future with confidence. He personified the high ideals of a politician, citizen and patriot, sincerely believing in the righteousness of what he did and to which he devoted his entire life. His memory will forever remain within the hearts of Russian citizens," (Source)

So, what do you think? Was Castro a man of "righteousness" who had "high ideals" and built a "free and independent Cuba?" Or was he a violent and brutal Commie thug?

And what do you make of Vladimir Putin's eulogy to the Communist dictator who made the blood of prisoners about to be executed the fifth highest export commodity for the country?

  1. I consider this to be further proof that the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, according to the specific instructions of Our Lady of Fatima, has not yet occurred. We pray that will happen on this 100th anniversary of the last apparition.

  2. Yes, the Consecration of Russia has not been done. We need to pray a constant vigilance of prayer for the Consecration of Russia, and we need to pray that people will learn to see who their enemies really are.

    Fr. Gruner, pray for us.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

  3. Thanks for posting this Maryanne !
I just stopped by your blog again tonight to press the point that Communism is NOT dead in Russia as another poster had expressed and give the example of the news clips showing tons of flowers and memorials left in Moscow at the Cuban embassy to memorialize Castro's life from the alleged "non communist" citizens of Russia.
It is alive and well in Communist China and other countries as well
including the USA !There are plenty of Americans who belong to CPUSA.
The Dems who supported Bernie should google their website to learn what socialism really is .......one slippery rock above Communism.

  4. I urge any Catholic who is sitting on the fence concerning their opinion of Vlad Putin to really take a look at what happened to anyone who opposes him.
Do we kill those who oppose our Presidents here ? If we did our population would certainly have gone down dramatically !
