Oh, Say Can You See

Robbin Williams on Stage Speaking as the American Flag  Priceless!
A dear friend of ours sent along this link to a video of Robbin Williams on stage impersonating the American flag.  Not only is Williams forever funny, he reminds us of how lucky we are to be Americans, free to think and believe what we choose and not what we are told, and free to be different without coercion to conform.  We have this freedom because sacrifices have been made for us that preserve these concepts of freedom in spite of socialist efforts, which never cease, to try to take it all away from us.

Our friend is a Marine and like all his fellow Marines, he epitomizes the ideals on which our country was founded---a love of God, family, and country.
Ever Faithful to God and Country

When I see players of football choose to disrespect our flag, I don't like it, but the blame goes beyond them.  What were they taught as little kids about God and authority?  Where in their lives was the man who fathered them?  And what have they ever learned about America in all the years they were in publicly funded schools that would convince them this is the greatest nation on earth?  And where today is the leadership of their team owners who could be telling them that it is wrong to kneel?  It is easy to say, yes, but look at how rich they are, shouldn't THAT make them grateful?  There are a lot of things money can't replace or instill.  One is a respect for authority.  Another is a love of God and country.

People today say they are glad Harvey Weinstein has been exposed because it shines a light on a bigger problem.  This is probably true.  I'm suggesting that the same is possible when it comes to these players who express poorly what is most lacking in their lives.  There's nothing wrong with America, but there is a lot wrong with families and education in this country and football players acting badly are just the canary in the coal mine.  I would apply a favorite saying of mine to this situation, "if you want to fix the problem, you have to stop focusing on the problem and begin to imagine the solutions."
It's going to be all right.  I've got you.

I pray every day that with President Trump, we will make America great again and that such greatness will include God and fathers and patriotism.  When we have that back again, no one will consider disrespecting Old Glory, because it will be for them what it was for Robbin Williams, a symbol of the place they are proud to call home.

  1. Confession, I have only skimmed your article. However, I caught the phrase that I have been stating in comboxes ever since the knee taking began...it may be something I remember from a commercial when I was young: "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem."

We have a President who desires righting wrongs that have gone on for many years in our Country. If the players really believe they want to solve problems vs. grandstanding, they should approach President Trump with ideas that may indeed solve problems. He is a doer; however, their approach is wrong, and it appears they will not budge to actually solve problems.

    God bless you!
