Fr. Tom Collins: Bishops provided a "safe environment" for sexual predators!

Msgr. Rossi, protege of Cardinal Wuerl
Editor's comment: I doubt if we've seen the end of the sex scandals. Msgr. Walter Rossi, rector of the Basilica Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, is likely to be among the next group of outed homosexuals keeping their boyfriends in comfort using the assets donated for the care of the Church. Check out the American Spectator here, here, and here.

Abuse of minors is horrendous, but pederasty isn't the only problem. Homosexual priests engaging in "age appropriate" sodomy often, like Bransfield, consider the assets of the Church their personal property and help themselves to the proceeds to fund their extravagant lifestyles. The next big scandal as the Bransfield financial raping of West Virginia indicates, will likely be all about money. Stay tuned and pray hard.

It is ironic that those who worked frantically for decades to develop a “safe environment” for sexual predators among the clergy are now assuring us that they should be trusted to develop and implement new policies to ensure “safe environments” for children. Their sincerity and the integrity of their policies is rather questionable, in view of the fact that they allowed known predators like McCarrick and Bransfield to continue to sexually exploit and intimidate others long after their Dallas Charter was ratified.

Apparently the Dallas Charter has some canonical loopholes, which allowed for some high-ranking predators to be granted the ecclesiastical version of a privileged sanctuary. All of which indicated that the whole panorama of “safe environment” policies may have been primarily motivated by the fear of the lawsuit, rather than the fear of the Lord. Thus it seems that “Protect Our Children” is merely another proverbial “dog whistle” to the sexual predators still lurking among them for “Protect Our Assets.”

Note, for example, how their concern to promote the unrestricted infiltration by unvetted foreigners is helping to provide cover for “coyotes” trafficking children across our southern border. If one were disposed to be cynical, one could say that an appropriate logo for the USCCB could be, ”Providing protection for perverted predatory prelates for over half a century.”

May God grant us the grace of authentic repentance and reparation!

Fr. Tom

  2. Attention readers. The comment above is from the heretical group the Association of U.S.Catholic Priests. Interesting that they read my blog. But I'm posting the comment because it's always good to know what the heretics in the Church are up to. Pray for these men because the scandal they cause will earn them all millstones unless they repent.
