National Sins Are Punished by National Chastisements

We hear a lot these days about “systemic racism.” If you’re white, you’re racist. That’s a given. If you say, “Gosh, I’m not a racist. I don’t discriminate against anybody. I treat everyone I meet with respect no matter what their race, religion, sex, or even their gender identity.” (After all, morally crazy people and sinners were made by God too.) “No, you’re a racist,” they say, “because you’re white and all white people are racists. Denying you’re a racist just proves you’re a racist in denial. I don’t care that you’re out at abortion businesses trying to save black and brown babies. You’re still a racist!”

Well...you get the idea. Systemic racism is the left’s club for beating up on the right. Personally, I think the mantra of “systemic racism” is a crock. Are their racists? Absolutely! Any person who hates another because of the color of a person’s skin, is a racist. There are white racists and there are black racists. But bigotry is not limited to race. Bigotry comes in many variations. For every person who hates someone for the color of skin, there is another, maybe the same person, who hates people for their religion. What else motivates the decapitation and destruction of statues of Christ, the Blessed Mother, and saints than hatred of Catholics and other Christians? Those who engage in sex trafficking hate their victims and see them as nothing but sale-able objects. Those who molest children, don’t love them no matter what the North American Man-Boy “Love” Association says. They hate children and enjoy destroying their innocence.

There is, indeed, a systemic problem in our culture, but it isn’t racism. It’s SIN, accompanied by a second systemic problem, indifference and tolerance of sin. I recently read a poll at PRRI.org showing the growing support for same sex marriage which found over 70% of Americans on board for this grievous sin. Some religious groups approach 80% support — even Catholics. The group showing the most resistance, ironically, was Republicans at only 59% approval. Think about that! Most Americans have no idea what marriage is. Even the pope came out recently for homosexual civil unions, aiding and abetting what can only be described as a satanic attack on the sacred institution of marriage. Can any Catholic who knows the faith really believe this is God’s will?

Bishop Athanasius Schneider warns Catholics about this grievous offense against God and urges us to pray for the conversion of Pope Francis. He says in part:
Every true Catholic, every true Catholic priest, every true Catholic bishop must with deep sorrow and a weeping heart regret and protest against the unheard fact, that Pope Francis, the Roman Pontiff, the successor of the apostle Peter, the Vicar of Christ on earth, uttered in the documentary film “Francesco” that premiered on October 21, 2020, as part of the Rome Film Festival, his support for civil same-sex unions. Such support of the pope means support for a structure of sin, for a lifestyle against the Sixth Commandment of the Decalogue, which was written with the fingers of God on stone tables on Sinai (see Ex. 31:18) and delivered by the hands of Angels to men (see Gal. 3:19). What God has written with His hand, even a pope cannot erase nor rewrite with his hand or with his tongue. [See LifeSiteNews for full commentary]

The pope’s statement affirms the systemic sin of same sex civil unions. There are many others: pornography, abortion, contraception, usury, greed. These systemic sins call down the wrath of God. The Old Testament gives many examples of God’s judgment coming on cultures embracing societal sin. Destroying Sodom and Gomorrah is just one example.

If Joe Biden wins the election on November 3rd by a legitimate vote of the majority of Americans, it will be a catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions. National sins must be punished by national chastisement. Whether he wins or not, our society is deeply immersed, and even revels, in serious sins. We must prepare to suffer and embrace God’s will in suffering by making it an offering on the altar of atonement. The little children of Fatima willingly took on suffering by their own choice. We may have no choice in the sufferings; we will have a choice in how we respond to them.

I grieve for the foolish people I know who hate Trump so much they are willing to sow the wind by supporting Joe Biden or refuse to support Trump Because they will bring on the whirlwind and both the guilty and the innocent will be caught up in that storm. I pray that we can avoid it by falling on our knees before God like the people of Nineveh. May God find the equivalent of the ten just men who would have saved Sodom and Gomorrah from destruction.

Our Lady, Queen of America, pray for us.

  1. Thank You. Very well said. I am so troubled by the Trump Psychosis that goes on by people who think Biden is better because he seems nicer, even though he supports mandatory Trans rights and the slaughter of babies. Trump may not be everyone's cup of tea, including mine, but he is by far the lesser of two evils, where Biden is outwardly evil by what he says.

  2. Thank you, Abp. Schneider. Very timely words, and fatherly advice. We are very far gone, even if Trump should win, please God.

  3. Just a reminder of what exactly the image of God is: We are body and soul. The image of God in each person's soul is spirit, mind, will. BUT - the image of God in our body is not found in one person alone but in MAN/WOMAN/CHILD - - - THE FAMILY.

Man/man or woman/woman, i.e., homosexual and lesbian relationships, in no way reflect the image of God. They are the opposite - they are the image of evil and Satan.

  4. How many Catholics who support sodomy (active homosexuality) were taught that sodomy is one of the four sins that cry to Heaven for vengeance? Do they know what happened to Sodom? Or were they told the lie that Sodom was destroyed because of its lack of hospitality?

  5. To support homosexual acts is heresy as is any abomination before God.
