Many governments are cracking down on Easter religious services in the name of the Chinese virus with tyrannical controls instituted by governments intent on crushing civil rights. Remember that all of this is being done in the name of a virus that 99.8% of people under 65 survive, many with few complications. Even people like me in the "vulnerable" category have an almost 95% survival rate.
The Chinese virus has been used to introduce some of the most draconian government actions ever: travel restrictions, businesses closed and shuttered. But the worst abuse of all is the crackdown on religion. Was this part of the plan all along? Many people will be forbidden to engage in live services today with only virtual streaming of the Easter celebration. This is especially terrible for Catholics who will be denied the reception of Christ in His real presence. This is all being done for the Great Reset where government takes more and more control and the people's rights are gutted. Pray and fight! Don't let this come to our beloved country! Make protection of our first amendment rights one of your top prayer intentions at Easter Mass. We are rapidly losing them!
Our Lady of America, pray for us.
Massive civil disobedience is necessary. Even if feckless bishops cower and submit to the state. The people must not. Liberty is hard won and so easily lost. If we are so weak as to submit to restrictions on our worship of God in this way we are too weak to be anything other than slaves.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The problem isn't just the bishops though. I can't tell you how many people in my parish went to the weekly on-line "rectory ramblings" and asked the priests to banish anyone who wouldn't wear a mask or receive Communion in the hand. The lack of charity was staggering. And the priests joined in piling on. In some parishes on Good Friday, people took down the ropes and filled in all the pews. Good for them. But how long before they send the government brown shirts in to order everyone to disperse or be arrested. How many would actually refuse to leave? As a pro-life rescuer I can testify to the fact that few are willing to risk arrest or suffer even a little to save a helpless baby from death. Will they stand up? Somehow I doubt it. Sad!
