May the Souls of the Faithful Departed, Through the Mercy of God, Rest in Peace.

My friend sent a final post today about his mother-in-law who died Monday morning. Her journey is over as it will be for all of us. Please, in your charity, pray for the repose of her soul.

Mom finally passed away Monday, we believe around 7:47 AM. I personally am very glad that God has given me these past 20 years to know her much better.

She was quiet, perhaps because she couldn't hear well or like, as she aged, hearing comprehension was very difficult, so Mom remained quiet to her immediate family.

Mom was a voracious reader and enjoyed mysteries. Mom was an Old School type lady whose worst words she'd say about someone was that they were "misbehaving".

I worked at home for all the time that Mom lived with me and her daughter. My wife worked up until the last decade of mom's life; so I had considerably time every morning to have get-to-know-mom talks. Mom had a full life growing up in Arlington VA, attending and graduating from Radford University and meeting her future husband Ed at a Radford University - Virginia Tech dance.
Mom got engaged two years later to Ed, a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. Ed used the GI Bill to go to Virginia Tech and graduated as an Industrial Engineer, eventually working for the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation.

Mom & Dad (my in law's) had 5 children (4 females & 1 male); all of their children graduated from college.

Mom had a long life and we were blessed to have her spend the last 2 decades with us.

Thank you Lord for the honor.

And thank you to my friend for sharing their personal stations of the cross. May the Divine Assistance be with us always and may the souls of the faithful departed, throught the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.
