Guest Post: A Paradoxical Reversal - The Crisis in the Church

by Edward Kryn

As a theologian Pope Benedict XVI looking at the fruits of the SSPX (Matt. 7:15-20) and bearing in mind his preoccupation with the concept of the BRIDE FALLING AWAY from the institutional church, felt the need to lift any possible excommunication of the four SSPX bishops once he realized the SSPX had saved the Traditional Latin Mass and therefore the BRIDE represented as the church during 50 years of experimentation in the church of Vatican II. All this remembering that other traditional orders like the FSSP, ICKSP and Priestly Union of Saint Jean-Marie Vianney, sprang from the SSPX saving the Traditional Latin Mass that was protected by Pope Pius V bull Quo Primum with incurring the wrath of Almighty God should anyone try to counter Pius V.
A recent article I had sent you enunciates Pope Benedict XVI interest in studying the bipartite body of the Church (where one part belongs to Christ and another part that belongs to the devil). Essentially “two buildings in the church, one built upon rock, another upon sand, so there are some who seem to be in the church but in reality are outside (in essence the good are mixed with the evil in the church up to the end of time). All of us are familiar when Jesus alludes to it in his preaching, the weeds and the wheat or the fish collected some good and some bad, or the 10 virgins some foolish and some wise, or the sheep and the goats.

An interesting observation of the crisis in the church with the historical and spiritual conflict outlined between the Lord’s body (the church) and the devil’s body (the anti-church because it masquerades as the church). This enemy body camouflages itself with the outward trappings of the Church (referenced as the “mystery of iniquity” and the "abomination of desolation”. The “apostasy will become evident or wholly laid bare and on full display as there are two parts in the church, one of the day and one of the night. So there is “false brethren” who appear to be part of the city of God BUT ACTUALLY belong to the devil. The church of the day will see the Bride of Christ PULLING AWAY from those within, in other words the true believers will “fall away”, will leave the evil within the Church.

This new Israel must depart on her new Exodus. The true Church herself will effect the great apostasy as a way of salvation from her enemies, in a real sense, the true Church will force the apostasy into the light, because the body of the devil present in the false ministers controlling the Church, is already and always has been apostate. The fact is merely concealed to our vision.

Apocalypse 18:4 can be understood to GO OUT FROM HER my people, so that you do not share in her sins and so that you are not stricken by her plagues. So the true Church EXTRICATES herself from the anti-church ("the mystery of iniquity”) so that the evil veiled within is exposed and subsequently defeated. The mystery of lawlessness will be enfleshed in the figure of the Antichrist which NOW is hidden in the church.

“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves”. Here the hypocrisy of the bishops is referenced in the “second beast” in Apocalypse 13:11 with two horns similar to those of a lamb who speaks as a snake. Pretending to speak for God, the wolf turns those seeking God away from the way of truth.

Once the apostasy has been enacted, the BRIDE of Christ (the true Church) will then be battling the false brethren and the heathen world. So the Church like the head that suffered, goes through its suffering to rise again like Christ.

On a practical level when it comes to the sacraments we can see how the Church has provisions for this “PULLING AWAY” as we can listen to the recent comment by the former head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith Cardinal Gerhard Muller: “Yes, the sacraments are valid even if they are administered by a schismatic or heretical bishop - but only if he only intends to do what the Church understands by these sacraments.” Cardinal Muller made these comments in reference to the schismatic/heretical recent acts of the German bishops.

As many of you know we have confirmation of the validity of SSPX sacraments as a Raleigh diocesan priest who grew up in the SSPX BEFORE Pope Benedict XVI lifted the excommunication of 4 of their bishops had all his sacraments conferred on him in the SSPX church and therefore were naturally fully recognized as authentic by the diocese upon his ordination.

  1. This is exactly how traditional Prots view the Reformation, i.e. Rome was antichrist and the body of Satan and they had to come out from among her. Now Catholics are applying this to Vatican II. How ironic.

  2. Why don't you elaborate. I found the post very interesting and a good explanation for the crisis in the Church. There are definitely two "camps" in the Church at present: one is based on Scripture and Tradition, the other is modernist bringing in all kinds of novelties like blessing same-sex unions, the push for women's ordination, Communion for those living in adultery, etc. Your statement without backing it up is unconvincing, at least to me. There was a Church before Vatican II although you'd never know it from the way some modernists talk.

    1. It’s deeper than “two camps” as that phraseology suggests each “camp” has good standing within the footprint of the Church. That the modernists are at one end of a spectrum but still on a legitimate spectrum with traditional Catholics at the other.

Go back to the article above: the other camp is the anti-church. Demonic, false prophets. Not legitimate.

Let’s see whether we can think of a character or two who match the prophecy of “This enemy body camouflages itself with the outward trappings of the Church”… let’s see.. maybe a man who wears white today as camouflage, who by all serious scholars was not canonically elected to anything… who then has spouted heresy after heresy and allowed heresy to flourish (see German synod)…

No- we need to open minds to the letter of the article and that the ENEMY is in front of us and has Jorge Bergolio as figurehead supported by the wicked St. Gallen mafia and God knows (literally) how many other sick twisted perverted prelates who should be bounced out of the Church if not repentant of their sins.

Back to the letter of the article: “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves”. Here the hypocrisy of the bishops is referenced in the “second beast” ”

It’s all right there people but until we stop the concession that there is a second camp and they just need to be corrected they will continue their march as the anti-church through our Church.

Starting with a vacated and currently empty See of Peter…

  4. First, the good Abp. Lefebvre wasn't the only bishop to preserve the Mass. He and other sede bishops consecrated other bishops and ordained priests. There was a very good reason Abp. Lefebvre consecrated 4 bishops. Without valid bishops, there are no valid priests. Something every Catholic should look into

Unfortunately, the SSPX in Germany allowed a NO "bishop" on Holy Thursday to bless the oils at the Chrism Mass which are used for Confirmation and Extreme Unction. The matter for these Sacraments in Germany will be invalid. All the info needed to see that NO bishops are invalid is readily available on the internet.

  5. Well, Debbie, then God has truly abandoned His people, since most Catholics IN THE WORLD have no Mass except the Novus Ordo.

Please don't start another back and forth. We will have to agree to disagree.

No analogy exists when it comes to the Protestant Reformation. The Reformation was a rupture on many levels. The SSPX pulling away was to PRESERVE the pristine LITURGY that existed from the time of Christ.

The posted article references the SSPX who recognize the Pope, not Sede bishops who believe the See is vacant.
The quote from Gerhard Ludwig Müller specifically speaks about today’s German speaking bishops, who are acting schismatically/heretically conferring valid sacraments if the INTENT is consistent with longstanding Church understanding.
