Eucharistic Processions are often part of the celebration of the feast of Corpus Christi. Here's a video of Eucharistic Processions in 2022 on the feast. They represent countries all over the world.
To me, Jesus in the Eucharist is his real body at the second cell division. Most hosts have a cross which separates the host into four section This looks very much like the fertilized ovum which explodes into life. Jesus in the host has united Himself to the littlest and weakest of us, the babe in the womb. May we all love and honor Him!

Even if Opus Dei or Napa promoted this effort is not the procession in itself a good thing?

I'm presuming you are not Catholic, Milton. A Eucharistic Procession is to give praise and honor to God. Think of a ticker tape parade for a war hero or a parade honoring the leader of a country. Just as we honor men with parades, the Eucharistic Procession takes Jesus Christ, who is really present in the Holy Eucharist, into the public square acknowledging Him as the Lord of all creation and the King of Kings. He came for all of us and gave every drop of His blood to redeem us, but how many don't know Him?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a little girl, Eucharistic Processions were common. It is a powerful witness to take Jesus into the streets. He is not just for Catholics, but is for everyone and loves everyone, but how can people know Him if they never see Him?

If it was an Opus Dei march, it was a magnificent failure--I doubt anyone but Frank Walker has come up with that idea as the motive
