Before Our Lady visited Fatima, the Angel of Peace appeared three times to the little shepherd children: Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. On his second visit he chided the little ones, saying, “What are you doing? You must pray! Pray a lot! The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have merciful designs on you. You must constantly offer your prayers and sacrifices to GOD, the Most High."
A few of my readers are Johnny-one-notes attacking all things Trump with long dissertations that I no longer post. When someone uses disrespectful language and starts with, "I know you won't post this," I laugh and agree. "You're right, I won't post it."
Salvation is not in politics and Trump is no hero or even a man to emulate. He's a sinner like all of us. So how many have committed themselves to pray for him, his family and his administration. They, like us, need it. Let's go through a few of Trump's cabinet picks and point to some specifics we might include in our prayers.
Vice President J.D. Vance: He's a Catholic who endorses the intrinsic evil of in vitro fertilization. IVF is an abomination which leaves hundreds of thousands of babies orphaned in freezers, most of whom will end up dying - cold, unloved, and abandoned. It is a horror beyond measure that kills many more babies than die from abortion.
Head of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy: Another Catholic who cooperates in the murder of the unborn engaged in a long interview with Raymond Arroyo which illustrates his disagreement with intrinsic moral values. He grew up in a devout Catholic household and should know better. He, like Vance, desperately needs our prayers. Catholics will be held to a stricter accounting.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth: Information on the internet about his political views relative to moral issues that concern Catholics is sketchy. Married twice, he's the father of seven children by two wives and wrote a book, Battle for the American Mind endorsing classical Christian education. Sex abuse allegations against him never resulted in criminal charges; according to his lawyer he was cleared. Are the allegations true or another tactic by the left similar to charges against Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas?
Attorney General Pam Bondi: Bondi has a strong record defending the unborn and she is against legalization of drugs. She seems to be a good pick who is likely to work toward de-politicizing the Department of Justice. Let's boost her effectiveness with prayer.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard: Gabbard is a non-interventionist which hopefully will suppress some of the war mongering of recent years with the involvement of the CIA and other intelligence operations. May she also suppress the designation of traditional Catholics and pro-lifers as domestic terrorists.
I'm going to stop here and look at some more appointments another day. But the big question is: How much are we praying for Donald Trump and the incoming administration?
What are you doing? Are you just attacking him, calling him names, wringing your hands, and telling people what an evil man he is and how the country is going to the dogs? Maybe it is. But if, in fact, that's true maybe we're a big part of the problem. They say you get the leaders you deserve. Would Trump be converting to a fully pro-life position if we were fasting and praying for him?
What's wrong with the world and with the United States?
I am! You are!
So I'm posting this and then going for a rosary walk to pray for our poor country and for those who will be leading us. But I'm especially praying for those who need to stop working their mouths to gripe and condemn and begin moving their lips in prayer.
What would the Angel of the United States say to us if he appeared today?
May Jesus Christ be praised, now and forever.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
…….But the big question is: How much are we praying for Donald Trump and the incoming administration? ……
ReplyDeleteThe big question is: How much have you been praying for ‘Catholic’ Joe Biden and other Catholic politicians? Are we not called to pray for our neighbor? Who is our neighbor?, next to the family, are the baptized Catholics, especially, a great sinner. Catholic politicians are in desperate need of prayers from their fellow Catholics. They have been poorly catechized, especially, since the Second Vatican Council, where false ecumenism, and false love of neighbor has compromised sacred truths, to get along with the world, with the political system that does not serve Catholic God.
Wonder not, why this God given country has not been converted to the One Holy Apostolic Catholic Church, to whom much was given, for much will be accounted.
“Rome was not voted into a Christian Empire but converted into one,” says Charles Coulombe.
Couldn't agree more. Have prayed for Joe Biden and other Catholic scandals like Ted Kennedy for years. Have had Masses said for Nancy Pelosi who attended my alma mater, Trinity College and shares a birthday with me (although not a birth year). It's all part of the call to "Love your enemy and do good to those who hate you."
ReplyDeleteGood example is; how much mockery doing a debate in ‘2016 A.D., a Catholic candidate for the highest Office of the U.S., Marco Rubio, had to endure from not only the heretics, but by silence, or ignorance, from American Catholics.
ReplyDeleteI’ll try to make this very brief…..just to mention of Marco Rubio’s sincere profession of his Catholic faith when in one of the first debates, Marco was told that he has a reputation of being a ‘savior’ of the Republicans……did any of you sleep on your ears?……did you hear what his response was?…….he said; ‘the only savior that I know of is Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross for our sins! SIN is no longer used in the English vocabulary, especially by politicians.
……..how about, when Marco was interviewed by the hypocrite O’Riley, who was criticizing Marco for attacking Trump, and that many people were disappointed at him. Courageous Marco said……Yes, I understand, and I don’t want my children to be ashamed of their father, but above all I do not want to offend Jesus……..looking at O’Reiley he repeated……. Yes, I said I do not want to offend Jesus. How about when he was interviewed again, and asked what he will do if he does not win…….he said, ‘If it’s God’s Will, I will be the next President of United States, if not, I will go on with my life.’ At his last speech, closing his campaign, he said, between the lines…….’It was not God’s Will.’
Do I think that Marco was the best candidate. No, and I do not know one that is. But with God (faith) all things are possible, and that was to be to his advantage……but God Knows best, what and whom ‘we the people,’ deserve!
My point is, why none of the Catholics were impressed, and prayed for Marco? This only proves, that Catholics do not care……. Americanism above Catholicism.
Let us remember, patriotism is a virtue, but Americanism is a heresy.
Sadly, Marco Rubio of today, had to compromise to be in the ‘system’…..as every Catholic politician has done, before him. Ave Maria!
You're presuming that most Catholics saw those interviews. Personally, I did not so I've never heard Rubio's profession of faith. I never watched Bill O'Reilly and tend to limit my time on TV. I'm curious though. How did Rubio compromise since being named Secretary of State? Has he supported Trump's position on IVF, for example?
DeleteIsn’t amazing. American Catholics were not aware of a Catholic politician running for the Office. Doing the elections they didn’t listen or watch the debates?…scandalous, or simply put it, they have been guided blindly, for whom to vote by the Catholic bloggers & company! How in the world almost every Catholic house in ‘2016 was decorated with Trump flags? On what basis did they cast their vote? Was it based on Trump’s faith, his integrity, or because he was (is) a moral man, or because of his wisdom, and love of country…..etc.,? A divided ‘heart’ cannot serve two masters (two countries)!
ReplyDeleteDemons are united for our destruction, and Catholics in every election fail to be united to overthrow the powers that hoard the silver and gold…..not as eternal treasures, for sure.
Ave Maria!
Sen. Marco Rubio insisted IVF’s future was not under threat. Sen. Rick Scott of Florida, who is up for reelection in November, said on social media that he agreed with Trump’s position and that “any attempt to restrict IVF must be rejected.”
…….let us do our part to restore the faith, because when the faith has been restored, and uncompromised, abortion will end.
Following Marco Rubio's "journey in Faith" is like following a pin-ball machine.
ReplyDeleteYou speak of "divided hearts".
Rubio has been Catholic...then Mormon...then Evangelical Protestant...then back to Catholicism.
Has he finally picked a Lane?
The sad reality is that every politician regardless which party they claim to serve, at the end they all must serve the same 'Master'.
ReplyDeleteDivided heart cannot serve two masters (two nations)!
I think there are some notable exceptions. However, politics is a field loaded with temptations. As voters we have to do the best we can to choose candidates who will do the most good and the least harm. I don't think your comment meant to imply Christians should stay out of politics because there are no perfect choices.
