I like to start my day by making coffee and then taking it outside to sit on the front porch.
I look to the East where the sun is rising and adore, praise, and thank God for another day. Then I make my Morning Offering giving everything to Him as a sacrifice. The day can only bring blessings if I try to conform myself to His will. Sometimes I sing a praise song to help lift my mind and heart to Abba Who loves us so much. It's a good thing to remember every morning. Nothing that happens today can disturb me if I'm resting in the hollow of God's hand. Shall we all meet virtually on my front porch to pray together?
What a lovely spot! I am sure that is a bit humid - I remember that from when we lived in Arlington, VA. Blessings on your day!

Every morning, after the Angelus, I light a tea candle in front of a small crucifix in the kitchen. Today’s (as every Thursday) intention is for the fortification of priests, to grant us many holy priests and many religious vocations.
ReplyDeleteIn the living room, as I light the tea candle in front of a medium statue of Our Lady holding a rosary, blessed by one of Padre Pio’s monks from the monastery, I pray "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."
Last candle (large) I light in front of beautiful alabaster ‘Pieta’, that I have found in a trash room of a thrift shop, the intention in the morning, is in thanksgiving, and for increase of faith.
On Friday’s, I light the candles for all sinners, especially of those of my own family, all wayward Catholics, and those that will die this day, I end it with; 'Lord, may You appease Your enemies, for many are perishing!'
As I drink herbal tea, usually I begin with ‘Divine Intimacy’, or ‘Divine Office’, the wisdom of the Psalms puts me in a place, for I know who I’m not, and who I ought to be…..Ave Maria!
……then I open the Internet, and that is usually when I must conquer my temptations, to stay calm……
IN HEAVEN WE’LL UNDERSTAND
Not now, but in the coming years,
It may be in the Heavenly Land,
We’ll read the meaning of our tears;
Someday, in Heaven, we’ll understand.
We’ll know why the clouds instead of sun
Were over many a cherished plan;
Why smiles have ceased when just begun;’
Someday, in Heaven, we’ll understand.
Then trust in God through all your days;
Fear not, for He doth hold your hand;
But, while you live, still sing and praise,
Someday in Heaven, we’ll understand.
I enjoy morning prayer much more than in the evening when I tired. (But I still do pray in the evening.)
