The USCCB seems to have lost the faith decades ago, not to mention their minds! I offer the letter below as exhibit A. Why would any right-minded bishop continue to belong to this Good Old Boys Club of Nonsense? In the name of ecumenism we are told that all faiths are paths to God including paganism. And now we have a Jewish woman, Amy-Jill Levine elected as head of the "Catholic" Biblical Association who wants to rewrite the Bible because the pharisees were misunderstood. It reminds me of the song Officer Krupke from West Side Story.
Really! Our bishops want us to believe that after two thousand years of mistakes, our modern hierarchy is finally getting it right. All those old fuddy duddies from the past didn't know what they were about. And really, that Great Commission, when Jesus sent his disciples out to convert the whole world and baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit?, He didn't really mean it. He really commissioned them to go out and embrace all religions in the name of ecumenism. And God forbid that anyone should "proselytize" or work to convert the Jews. Why bother? Everyone goes to heaven anyway.
I can't help but laugh at the ludicrous assertion that the SSPX are out of the Church and every other religion, including paganism, is a pathway to God. Read this letter and weep for poor Holy Mother Church. And pray for the demise of the USCCB.
When was it though? I remember in the early 2000s reading the notes in the NABRE. They daid Matthew didn't write Matthew and Peter didn't write 2nd Peter.

You could say you are only praying for the demise of the organization, but that is the same thing, and there is no way to dress it up any differently.

Wow! What a rash judgment! You obviously know very little about the USCCB. The organization actually waters down the authority of the bishops and, in fact, has been used to manipulate them and imply they approve of things they don't. Opposing them actually upholds the authority of the individual bishops.

What it has become is a bureaucracy that uses its charity, the CCHD, to fund organizations that promote contraception and abortion and elect anti-Catholic liberals to Congress. The saintly Bishop Gracida of Corpus Christi stopped attending their meetings. Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz called them "this hapless bench of bishops" at the Dallas general meeting that absolved themselves from accountability for the sex abuse crisis.
Women religious have a parallel organization, the LCWR, Leadership Conference of Women Religious that became dominated by pro-abortion feminist nuns. The faithful women religious left the organization in 1992 to found the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious. I would like to see the faithful bishops imitate the faithful Catholic Religious Women and found a new organization not dominated by liberal bishops who have made the organization an arm of the Democrat party.
