The Church As Asylum...Insane Asylum?

As I wrote the title of this post I wished I were talking about the Church being an asylum in a world gone mad: a haven of peace in the storm, an oasis of truth in a world of lies. Sad to say, while the Church continues to be those things for those who embrace Sacred Tradition and keep the faith of the apostles, Holy Mother Church is looking more and more like an insane asylum under recent popes. Of course, the Church is indefectible but that doesn't mean she can't be in the grips of hirelings and false shepherds.

To keep your balance these days, you need to rewind past the lunacy and read the encyclicals and listen to the saintly popes of the past who taught unchanging doctrinal truth. The Judases treat the Church like a wild roller coaster ride and make everyone so dizzy they can't tell up from down, but no one is forced to get on board. "By their fruits [and nuts] you shall know them." And once you know them, their errors are easier to avoid.

Pope Leo continues the head-shaking policies of Francis and his appointments are as bad or worse than those during the previous pontificate. The latest head-shaking appointment goes to Father Mario León Dorado, a 52-year-old Spanish Oblate. Leo has named him coadjutor archbishop of Rabat, Morocco, shown in the photo below on the left.

Add this to all the other disastrous things bubbling up like a witch's brew from the Vatican.  

• praising and naming pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia members to Vatican dicasteries and papal academies
• blessing a block of ice and a pokemon card as well as same-sex relationships [Yes, Leo really did sign and bless a pokemon card.] 
• Giving more attention to the woke agenda than to intrinsic moral evils. Pope Francis spilled more ink on climate change, illegal immigration, and normalizing homosexuality than the assaults on life.
• naming pro-women's ordination and LGBTQ+ advocates as consulters to the curia [Source]
• Putting women in charge of important dicasteries including over religious institutes of male religious. Three of the sixteen dicasteries are now headed by women appointed by Francis and Leo. [Source]
• Advancing syncretism on many fronts: Assisi meetings, Abu Dhabi declaration, synodality scandals, etc. all attacking the dogma that outside the Church there is no salvation. In contrast we are now scandalized with the message that all religions (including paganism) are paths to God. Missionary activity is pointless if this is true.

I could continue, but you get the idea. How to manage in the age of insanity? Keep the faith as it was taught for 2000 years. Ignore the novelties.  Study encyclicals of holy popes. Pray for the pope and the bishops. Read good catechisms like Credo, the Catechism of the Council of Trent, and the Catechism of Pope Pius X. With all the changes to the CCC (Catechism of the Catholic Church) that undermine the faith, it now deserves to be dumped on the fire pit. The important thing is to keep the faith and act with charity. Those two things, faith and charity, are not negotiable. Only those with faith who practice charity will go to heaven. And isn't that where every sensible, sane person wants to go? Don't let the wolves within the Church preaching modernism rob you of your faith. That would truly be insane! Recognize the quacks from the true doctors of the Church. Pray and fast to drive out the demons.
