Pope Leo is in the hospital receiving treatment for a lesion on his lungs. After surgery the doctors reported that they removed a portion of his lung and the tumor which was cancerous. Every faithful Catholic should be praying for him: for his physical healing and for his spiritual healing. As Fr. John Hardon, S.J. always said, the spiritual miracles are most important and, frankly, more miraculous than the physical ones. And wouldn't it be a miracle if Leo had a Damascus moment while he's recovering and decided to become a zealous defender of the faith like his predecessor, Leo XIII.
What would that look like?
- Cancel the upcoming synod?
- Defend and expand access to the Traditional Latin Mass?
- Recognize the SSPX and engage in discussing issues in Vatican II that need correction?
- Send Cardinal Fernandez to Timbuktu?
- Write an encyclical defending marriage, condemning same-sex unions and contraception, and calling for those in invalid marriages to sacrificial holiness?
- Clean out the dicasteries and pontifical academies of pro-death and modernist members?
- Defend the underground Church in China and condemn Communism and the organ harvesting industry that preys on the innocent?
So many things in the conciliar and synodal Church need correction. And even more does the way of holiness need expression and affirmation. How much we need a holy pope to lead us out of the sewer that modern life has become. What a blessing if Leo XIV truly imitated his holy predecessor.
I'm currently reading Pope Leo XIII's encyclical On Jesus Christ Our Redeemer. Here's one bit that contains wisdom often spoken by the priests of the SSPX:
The most important duty of the Church, and the one most particularly her own, is to defend and to propagate theoughout the world the kingdom of the Son of God, and to bring all men to salvation by communicating to them the divine benefits so much so that her power and authority are chifly exercixed in this one work. Towards this end we are conscious of having devoted our energies throughout our difficult and anxious pontificate even to the present day.
"Bring all men to salvation" -- that is the whole purpose of the faith and canon law pays tribute to that in the last canon recognizing that those following the law of the Church have:
...due regard for canonical equity and having before one's eyes the salvation of souls, which is always the supreme law of the Church.
The salvation of souls was the lifework of Archbishop Lefebvre and should be the life work of every priest on earth. Let us pray and sacrifice for priests who are under such attack by the prince of this world.
O Lord, give us priests.
O Lord, give us holy priests.
O Lord, give us many holy priests.
O Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for Pope Leo and all your spiritual sons that they will always conform themselves to the holy will of God.
Pope Leo XIII, pray for us and especially for Pope Leo XIV.

Years ago I met a guy from Timbuktu. Don't do that to his people.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh. Is there a See at the South Pole? Send Fernandez there. He can preach to the penguins.
DeleteIs the church really the Vatican or is it not actually the collection of monastic orders? So the mpnastic orders derive their validity from Rome? is it not actually the other way around?
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you read Ann Barnhardts story on Leo's health. Not very charitable but one thing about Ann, her facts are usually impeccable. https://www.barnhardt.biz/2026/10/14/antipope-pervost-has-vaids-turbo-cancer-satan-hates-his-lackeys-the-most-and-luxuriates-in-double-crossing-them-this-is-why-we-pray-in-the-matthew-1720-intention-for-the-repentance-and-reversion-t/ In many ways you reap what you sew. He and Francis pushed the jab on innocent Catholics who may well face this same or similar diseases. In my opinion that makes him no better than Anthony Fauci. That being said then Yes I am praying for his health, but more importantly his conversion to the Catholic faith before its too late for him. All his actions in his life in the clergy show no signs of it other than veneer window dressing.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of Ann Barnhardt and I don't read her much. We certainly disagree on the sedevacantist position. But I agree, that her facts are usually on target and certainly the data coming out more and more implicates the COVID vaccine in the explosion of cancer. Now, if the scientific community, instead of canceling those who disagree with their woke positions, would give the real scientists the respect they deserve to follow the science where it leads we might get some answers. Instead we now have the U.N. pushing fast-track vaccines and using the hobnailed boot against vaccine hesitancy. I think we can expect the neck created pandemic to involve draconian compulsion. Thank God the U.S. voted against the resolution. But if the Dems take the midterms it will be back to the horror show.
DeleteI agree on Ann, not one of my favorites but she digs up things most people skip over. I also don' t like her bashing of the SSPX. Since I joined one of their chapels 3 months ago I have both gained respect for them and honestly feel that is the only road for the church. I really think Sedevacantism is simply running away from the problem, nothing really constructive. On the other hand neither is the ICKSP who simply hide their heads in the sand. They think what they do not see or hear will not hurt them. SSPX is the balance, genuine doctrine and a fighting spirit remniscent of the crusaders. back to the vaccines. I talked to a client of mine yesterday discussing a project. During the conversation he told me he went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription. In the process the pharmacist started pushing various jabs, did you get your shingles vaccine? Did you get your flu shot? Did you get your covid shot? He found out that for each shot they "sold" the company got 100 bonus, its not about health, its about big money.
DeleteI agree re the money. And I have no objections to your posting link. That info about nicotine you described on another post is interesting.
