"You can never vote for someone who favors absolutely what's called the right to choice of a woman to destroy human life in her womb.... This is the most fundamental and critical area, the protection of innocent and defenseless human life. But you could never justify voting for a candidate who not only does not want to limit abortion, but thinks it should be available to everyone."

ReplyDeleteThe problem is that there are so few truly pro-life politicians. So if I agree with everything else about someone, but not that... and disagree with everything else about the opposing candidate but he/she is "pro-life," (though often supporting the death penalty) it is a difficult decision.
ReplyDeleteI agree about their being few "truly pro-life politicians." Bart Stupak is a good example. It's easy to pay lip service to pro-life and play Judas to mollify the party elite.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine that a politician who is truly pro-life won't offer many areas of agreement.
But in any event, being pro-abortion is a disqualifier. For example, would you vote for David Duke under any circumstances? Or Adolf Hitler or Mao? Many liberals would. One of Obama's czarinas talked about her great admiration for Mao. Hard to imagine admiring for Mao, a man who murdered millions of his own people!
If you vote pro-life, pro-family you can hardly go wrong.
