Sunday Meditation: Are you praying for the Synod? Pray harder!

Remember St. Boniface? He was the 8th century saint who dealt with the Germanic pagans by cutting down their "sacred oak" dedicated to the god Thor. He took the wood of the tree to build a church. Many pagans converted because they saw the power of the Christian God to overthrow their false gods.

Too bad St. Boniface didn't attend the opening ceremony of the synod and cut down the tree being planted in the Vatican garden. With the sacred smoke being blown and the rattling going on....well....who exactly was that tree honoring? Was Gaia on the tribal minds? -- Mother Earth? Is the face of the Amazon really being shown? Some missionaries describe the major problem of pedophilia and child abuse which is completely lacking in the working document.

The world is sinking into paganism. Is it too much to ask to expect the pope and the magisterium not to honor pagan beliefs? But that's what happened at the opening ceremony for the Amazon synod. I wrote about it here. And others are blowing the trumpet about what's happening including canon lawyer Fr. Gerald Murray and a number of missionaries who have long experience in the Amazon. (Read this! And this.)

And watch this:

When you pray your rosary today, be sure to invoke St. Boniface and all those missionary saints who took the faith to the pagans. Pray for St. Michael to rebuke those pagans in clerical garb who are using the indigenous people of the Amazon as pawns in their "game" of Peter's throne.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Sweet Heart of Mary, pray for us.

St. Joseph, patron of the Universal Church, pray for us.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
