It's Time for Businesses to Just Do Business and Stop Bullying Employees!

Does your workplace look like this?
Are you sick of getting woke politics at work or play? Do you resent paying $100+ for
concert tickets and getting a lecture from the "entertainers?" That's what happened to my daughter and granddaughter at a Dixie Chicks conference. They walked out! Entertainers who blindside their audiences by injecting their personal political views are arrogant and insulting. If you're a political comedian go for it. If you're a singer or actor, shut up and entertain!

On to the workplace.

Does your company expect you to adopt gender ideology or embrace child-killing or the border invasion to be the right kind of employee? Do they expect you to use woke pronouns at work or talk about "pregnant people" like USA Today who demoted David Mastion after he tweeted: "People who are pregnant are also women?" He quit!

Is your job security tenuous if you aren't pushing insane liberal ideas like men can be women and women can be men and baby killing is a civil right? Do your liberal office mates grab their teddy bears and run to human services to complain when they see you coming because of your politics?

Well, I'm happy to say that some CEOs have had it and are calling a halt. According to an article in the Epoch Times (June 22), "Last week Kraken CEO Jesse Powell became the latest executive to say he has had enough. He invited employees who felt 'triggered' by controversial ideas to accept a severance package and leave the company." Kraken has a new missions statement that I find refreshing and most welcome! Here's a portion of it. You can read the entire mission statement here.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Sound Money

We will never ask that our employees adopt any specific political ideology as a requirement for our workplace. That said, we ask that our employees respect the individual rights, privacy, and freedoms of others. Crypto is a freedom movement, and Kraken will remain a freedom company.
Differences of Opinion

If nobody is ever offended, we either don’t have enough diversity of thought or we don’t have enough transparency in communication. We recognize that hurt feelings are inevitable in a global organization that is optimizing for team outcomes above individual sentiment. The ideal Krakenite is thick-skinned and well intentioned.
In commitment to these values, we also expanded our permanent benefits program to make moving on a bit easier for anyone who feels it’s time for the next chapter in their career.

Whether they feel they cannot align with our culture and values, or for other reasons, we want everyone to be happy in their work. The transition program will always be available, and will allow people to have the time and resources needed to pursue the next chapter of their career.

Other CEO's are fed up as well. Elon Musk's SpaceX company fired two employees for political activism in the work place after they intimidated workers who didn't want to sign on to a letter protesting Musk's intention to take over Twitter. Entertainment giant, Netflix, told employees in May they would no longer allow staff to attempt to censor content they find objectionable. The controversy was over Dave Chappelle's comedy show, The Closer. Chappelle is a comedian whose politics play a role in his shtick. Netflix obviously is trying to protect its customer base after losing 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter with a projection of losing 2 million more in the second quarter.

I'm no fan of Netflix and I'm perfectly happy as a consumer to protest companies. We quit Netflix three years ago over their suicide promotion program, 13 Reasons Why, which caused a dramatic spike in suicides. We will never re-subscribe! But an entertainment company is better off letting viewers make those decisions, not create animosity among their employees. I wouldn't work for Netflix or plenty of other companies promoting evil, but employees have a right to be unmolested by fellow employees because of their views.

And it's common sense that alienating workers and consumers is bad for business. The Epoch Times reported that:

Companies are learning that they are often hurting their own brands and losing customers by taking up highly controversial political positions. And...many CEOs are finding themselves unprepared for the harsh world of social justice politics.

Think of companies like Starbucks, Disney, Coca Cola, Ben and Jerry's and others jumping on the woke bandwagon. I'm just one consumer, but I won't buy anything from those companies and many others that want me to swallow evil along with their products. No thanks!

As for employees...well...just do your job and practice politics on your own time.

  1. Went thru this at a previous company. When St Floyd died, we got emails from the CEO lamenting the evil white people and calling on us to "do something". This company likely never sold much to the black community. One IT guy became "Loretta" and he had a prominent place on the company website for his "bravery". I kid you not. One on line training we had was directing us to not show a coworkers gay porn videos to other coworkers as that person might be embarrassed. As if I'd even know where to find gay porn let alone watch at my work desk. It was hard. Got rif'd after 21 years and shortly before vaxx was mandated there.

Anwyay... I found another job at a start up. Under 25 people. No masks no vaxx no HR Karens. I make alot less but no woke stuff. At 62 yo now, not sure I would take it anymore anyway.

  2. There's a difference between LGBT and Confederate apologetics. Note that Dixie chicks dropped the "Dixie" a while back and now call themselves just "chicks"

  3. I feel your pain,newguy40. I had to change jobs at 65, took big pay cut, was overqualified (BSN RN, wound certified, 40+ yrs experience infection control, Director of nursing, Educator, staff nurse) but was grateful to finally be hired for a weekend nite shift supervisor nursing home job that became 2 jobs with Covid, when I was made staff nurse covering 2 wings (approx.40people) and still responsible for supervising. Made it through 2 yrs and retired when I was told I'd be fired if I didn't submit to the deathjab. It was horrible. No masks for months, just homemade cloth jobs that didn't fit a popped off, I had to do laundry at night so we had gowns, and none of the Covid measures made a bit of sense, including admitting Covid infected people into nursing homes. Healthcare is gone. Giving providers and drug companies liability immunity is a license to kill. And the management suits do not want medical staff who are competent, they want dumb ones who will do as they are told. Not a lot of woke opportunity for them there, but the Covid crap was sickening and relentless.
