I don't think that 500+ year old history of Muscovy is a trick of perception employed by the media of countries that are not even half as old, Susan. I read your latest two comments, Johnson, and will not post them. Identifying Mary as "Theotokos" began as early as the year 250 as shown by an ancient Egyptian papyrus. You seem to see yourself as a great scholar, but I prefer to follow the saints.
ReplyDeleteTo deny Mary is Mother of God denies that Jesus is both God and Man in the hypostatic union. But He Himself emphasized many times that He and the Father are one. The Man Jesus is God, therefore, Mary is the Mother of God. It's simple logic.
I'm not posting any more of your comments about Mary. I honor her too much to let you continue reviling her in the role to which God called her. If you want to argue about Mary's role start your own blog. I'll offer reparation for you on First Saturday for insulting her. Jesus certainly honored His mother according to the commandments. He also went home from the temple with Mary and Joseph when He was twelve and was subject to them. Only faith-filled humble people will go to heaven. May we all become little enough in our own eyes to take the last place.

I have heard about polish jokes etc. Unfortunately, it seems to me both Ukrainians and Russians are slavic so not sure where you get the idea I am anti-slavic because I think it was wrong for Russia to invade Ukraine and that Russia should withdraw. Russia, it seems to me, like Germany, has always been seeking to conquer other nations. It is a judgment call Biden has made. He has bi-partisan support and European/NATO support as well. Trump was pursuing the same policy and before him, Obama. Even if they were all out to get the U.S., Putin is out to get the U.S. too. You seem to be rooting for the "East" (Putin/China) against the "West" so to me you are out to get the U.S. too (along w/E.M. Jones/Opus Dei the evil American Empire must fall so "Logos" can rise).

For question 4, I checked out your article which is published by "american conservative" and authored by anonymous. "Yevhen Herman; Yevhen Herman is the pseudonym of a journalist in Kyiv." It has no foot notes. Not sure what "american conservative" a creation of pat buchanan and some greek tycoon know about the issue. Per Wiki when they were against iraq war advocated everyone voting democrat. Anyhoo, troubles were brewing since 2014 when the russian allied church supported russia invading ukraine and started blessing the invaders. Anyone elected to defend Ukraine as a matter of national security needs to get rid of those working for Russia. U.S. was probably for them to get tougher long ago since all plans/troop movements are betrayed by these moles on the inside. It's like southerners were treated in the North or vice versa during Civil War. Again "schism" from the Russian patriarchy is biased nonsense.

Russia was provoked to invade Eastern Ukraine because Ukraine and the West did not implement the Minsk I and Minsk II Agreements. Look at it like this: if Ukraine had followed Minsk I, Lugansk and Donestk would still be part of Ukraine and there'd still be several hundred thousand Ukrainian men still alive, the current destroyed cities would be intact, Europe wouldn't be in a recession, Russia - because of the West's sanctions - would not have been driven into the arms of China and the world would be much safer.

Not to mention the Odessa murders with the burning alive of 44 Russians, killing 15,000 Russians in the Donbass in the 8 years leading up to the war. At every step of the way Ukraine has lied, broken protocol, and thoroughly provoked Russia.
As for the Nazi issue - Hitler died at the end of WWII but Nazism did not. The eastern part of Poland is infested with Nazis, especially the Lviv area which was Polish until 1946 when that section of Poland became part of the old Soviet Union. The far right nationalist Nazi Stepan Bandera (died in 1959) has a great following in Lviv, so much so that Lviv (called Banderastan by some) erected a 21 foot tall statue of Nazi Stepan Bandera in the city in 2007. The Azov soldiers in the Ukrainian army are Nazis. Do you mean to tell me that you haven't seen them with their Nazi tattoos and Nazi uniform paraphernalia? But of course if you listen to Ukrainian news, you wouldn't be allowed to know that.
The US has lied, the Biden White House has lied, the MIC has lied, and the EU and all nations (except Hungary) of the collective West have lied. The billions sent to Ukraine has been pilfered by Zelensky and Ukrainian government officials. Very little of it was used for what it was meant for.
I'm for the side that doesn't lie to me all day long. Ukraine has lied and lied. They say they did not blow up the Nord Stream pipeline, murder Daria Duggina, bomb the Kremlin (just last week), send unmanned naval drone boats to blow up the Russian boat protecting the Turkstream pipeline (the Russians blew the drones to smithereens). Ukraine blew up the Kerch bridge then lied that they didn't do it. Also, Zelensky is a puppet of the West...just like Biden is a puppet of the deep state.

Russia will soon have missiles in Belarus because the West is trying to overthrow Lukashenko ...another coup or color revolution to put a pro-NATO/pro-Western government in Belarus. With Russia "raised the bet" with the West by placing missiles in Belarus thereby making the West think twice before trying a coup in Minsk.
