I received a letter yesterday from a very unusual priest, Fr. Gordon MacRae. I call him unusual because I doubt many priests would do what he did. Falsely accused of molesting a minor, the victim of trumped up "evidence" by a corrupt "justice" system in New Hampshire, he refused to be bribed by a plea deal. He could have been out of jail in one or two years if he took the plea. He refused because he was innocent. And now he is on the cusp of "celebrating" thirty years in prison.

The story is horrifying but no surprise. In 2024 we have daily proof of our corrupt "justice" system. Consider the January 6ers many of whom are still in jail without trial after two years. Some who were released knew they weren't guilty, but also knew the administration, using the corrupt FBI and DOJ, was determined to punish them. After all, they wanted proof for their bogus "insurrection." Jailing innocent citizens mattered little if it advanced the evil goal.
Pro-lifers have felt that poisonous sting for decades. Ask Joan Andrews Bell who spent years in jail for trying to protect little ones in the womb through peaceful direct action. See how the government is using the FACE Act today to manufacture stiff sentences against peaceful Red Rose witnesses demanding decades in jail for offering women help and roses in abortion center waiting rooms.
I don't fault the January 6ers who accepted the bribes in order to get a short sentence despite the fact it enabled the government to play hero. "See....these monsters really did plan an insurrection." But what a difference we see in Fr. MacRae who stood up to Leviathan and entered the gulag, not to "rot in prison" but to continue to serve with courage and fidelity. His passion has brought life to many especially a former cell mate named Pornchai Maximilian Moontri. Wherever an apostle of God resides, in exile or in freedom, he can do God's work.
Meet Fr. MacRae in the video below. Listen to his story, a sickening relation of corruption and deceit! Then pray for him that justice be done in his case. In the meantime, please pray for the good he has done and will continue to do behind bars. No evil doer can prevent the work of God who ordains all things, both good and evil. He never desires sin and malice but can use the sin and malice of others to perform His holy will.
Fr. MacRae has been in my daily prayers for many years. He is a Dry Martyr!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I was dropped from your mailing list. I had assumed you had quit. Now, another minor miracle from Fr. Gordon McRae (Oddly, too, I never associated his name with that of the famous actor Gordon McRae whose works I've been long familiar with.) Thanks for coninuing to post. I shall endeavor, with the limited time I have left on this earth--to catch up! And also to thank almighty God the Holy Trinity for giving us the witness of so many mighty saints including candidates like today's Fr. Gordon McRae. Another vocation is credited to his suffering, are there more?

Hi Mike, Thanks for coming back and for your kind words. Blogger changed their policy and stopped sending updates when new posts are added. I'm too tech challenged to change to a new server. I add a new post most days. I'll probably keep it up until I die or am too senile to know my own name. All in God's hands!
ReplyDeleteI've been following Father MacRae's plight for about a year now, and have been saddened and outraged about his plight every day since then; I pray for him daily. I would love to attend the first Mass he celebrates on the outside. I just learned of your efforts on his behalf. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI've followed Fr. G's unjust situation for a few years because it was mentioned by the Catholic League. Truly eye opening and I pray for Fr. G and Pornchai Moontri' as well. I pray that people like Mary Ann Kreitzer will be able to win Fr. G's release and for all unjustly accused priests. We need good priests and I'm thankful for Fr. G's good works. What an example for all of us.

ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks for this innocent priest with every new post from his excellent blog “Beyond these Stone Walls”.
The mere fact that he is able to offer such edifying content from within such a restrictive environment is a testament to a degree of courage, Faith, and acceptance of God’s often inscrutable Will that is a almost impossible to find in today’s world.
My prayers are with him in the hope that our Lord brings some occasional comfort to sustain him until he’s granted release from the injustice he has suffered for over 30 years.
Yet even from prison, Fr.Gordon has been a far greater witness to Christ's Gospel than most manage to be in all the “freedom” they’re granted.
I include myself among the many he puts to shame through the use of his gifts, under far more trying circumstances than most could ever imagine. I hope to do better because of his example.
