Really?

Sometimes I just shake my head and say, "Really? Really?" What are people thinking?

Sometimes I feel like I'm living in an X-rated Wonderland. Yesterday we went to the new bookstore in town. It's a cute little place. The message on the cashier's T-shirt wasn't so cute. "Trans rights are human rights." Well, I didn't get into it with her. I just walked out and said to my sister, "That's the first and last time I'll be in there." I'll pray for the little gal in the T-shirt. Maybe she's not transgender; maybe she just drank the Kool-aid. Trans folks don't want only the rights we all possess; they like to play the victim card and demand special rights. I wonder if the bookstore owner saw the shirt. If she did, she's foolish not to nix it. How many people like me will go into that shop and decide never to go in again? We were the only two customers in the shop. I didn't buy anything; my sister bought a bar of soap. How long will the bookstore last if many people feel the way I do?

The bakery across the street has a pride flag hanging outside. I've been there for coffee and a danish. But that was before they hung out the pride flag. A friend told me the shop is owned by two lesbians. I'm not interested enough to see if she's correct. But I will never go in there again. I plan to leave a St. Benedict medal on the property. The tattoo parlor also has the gay flag. No matter where you live, the deviant community has to be in your face.

Think I'll step down from my soapbox to spend some time with the Lord and decompress.

  1. Those bigots don't have Autobot and Decepticon as genders on that door. Time to sue!

  2. I'm with you on not patronizing those kinds of businesses. There's a garden shop I pass by and I thought some time I should stop in. Until they put up a sign in June "get your pride hanging baskets here". Like what's a pride basket? That was last year. They didn't do that this year but I'll never go there.

  3. In Vermillion, SD there’s a bookstore that I went into, and I like it and thought I would patronize it frequently. Then I came upon the section. Rainbow nonsense, and I found out that the owners had two, TWO transgender children. Recently, they closed the store to move out of South Dakota because we are “anti trans rights.” I hate to lose a bookstore, but good riddance.
