The Queering of America and What it Will Mean to Your Children?

Where the queering of America began
Visiting my doctor this morning, I spoke to a young millennial about the state of the world. She has a little girl and we talked about the impact children make on your outlook. It completely changes because they give you a stake in the future.

She and I (She said I sounded like her parents.) are both concerned about the future. What kind of America will our children and grandchildren grow up in? What impact will the gender idiocy have on their lives? Maybe the pertinent question is what impact is it having already?

For two 16-year-old girls in Illinois, it meant jail. What was their crime? They leafleted their high school parking lot with fliers depicting a photo of a male classmate kissing another boy. The flier apparently also had an unkind homosexual slur which the media didn't identify. The flier didn't threaten anyone with violence; at worst it was an unkind act. Nevertheless, the girls were incarcerated for 18 days in a juvenile detention center wearing shackles for their "hate" crime. They were then sentenced to a year's probation, 40 hours of community service, and had to write letters of apology to the arresting officer (for fleeing the scene) and the boy in the photograph.  And this was ten years ago in 2007! The gay agenda has made giant leaps in muzzling free speech since then.

California is currently considering a bill to criminalize the use of the wrong pronoun in a public health, housing, or retirement institution. Hey if Bill wants to be called Jill and be referred to as she, you'd better not disagree. If the law passes it carries a sentence of up to a year in jail and a $1000 fine for the "crime." One of the violations relates to room assignments in nursing homes:
Where rooms are assigned by gender, assigning, reassigning, or refusing to assign a room to a transgender resident other than in accordance with the transgender resident’s gender identity, unless at the transgender resident’s request.
What about the potential roommate's preference? Will a woman who refuses a transgender roommate be prosecuted as well? Or does she have no right to resist? And how will this bill be extended later to control the actions of others in public institutions: schools, hospitals, prisons, etc.

In 2009, Barack Obama welcomed 300 gay activists to join him in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots that ushered in the queering of America juggernaut. During his presentation to this perverse group, he chose one gay activist for special acclaim, Frank Kameny. Obama wanted this gay pioneer peddled to America's children. What did Kameny stand for? Here are a few quotes:

  • Let us have more and better enjoyment of more and better sexual perversions, by whatever definition, by more and more consenting adults
  • If bestiality with consenting animals [How exactly does an animal "consent?"] provides happiness to some people, let them pursue their happiness.
  • Let us have more and better enjoyment of more and better and harder-core pornography by those to whom such viewing provides happiness. (From the Introduction to A Queer Thing Happened to America by Michael Brown, 2011)
The fact that pornography use is linked to child sex abuse is completely ignored. So on the one hand, schools warn children about "bad touches" and at the same time glorify those who encourage the use of material that often results in predatory behavior. Talk about a schizophrenic culture!

It's common knowledge these days that children are being force-fed the queer agenda from the playpen. One of my own grandchildren was corrected in Kindergarten for telling a classmate who said she was going to marry her little female playmate that girls marry boys not girls. Pretty soon it won't just be a correction; it will be a scold and then a hate crime. We've got to indoctrinate these little ones early which is why the Boston Library System invited in the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to run story hour during gay pride week

The current trajectory is frightening. As Michael Brown points out in the final chapter of his extensively footnoted study:
Without the male-female order, there would be no human race (it still takes a sperm and an egg to produce a person), and the normalization and celebration of GLBT are a direct assault on the male-female order, leading to gender chaos, to the redefining of marriage, to the remaking of our educational system, to the rewriting of the Bible, to the enshrining of special gay rights even at the expense of religious rights and freedoms of conscience -- just  to name a few.
The picture painted in Brown's book is grim and many of us are seeing it lived out in our own communities. But he ends the book with hope and a call:
And all of us need to be a positive influence in society, giving attention to our own lives and marriages and families if they are out of order. (Fixing heterosexual marriage and sexuality is at the top of the list!) As for those of who claim to be followers of Jesus, we should understand the import of his words, "You are the salt of the earth....You are the light of the world" (see Matthew 5:13-16). Put another way by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., "The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of state, and never its tool." Now is the time to put this into practice.
We need to recover scriptural truth in our houses of worship and win the battle of semantics -- indded, the battle for sanity -- in the marketplace of ideas. And we need to do all this while walking in genuine love towards GLBT individuals, who will certainly view us as villains out to destroy their lives and steal their rights. Let us persevere throughthe inevitable vilification and misunderstanding that will be heaped upon us, and let us stand tall and unashamed.
As Catholics, we have the power to bring about the greatest change through the Eucharist, the rosary, and penance. One saint can change a country. So let's work toward removing the beams from our own eyes so we can help to remove the splinters from a culture blinded by sin. Go to confession, the best beginning for conversion and renewal. Our children are worth it!

Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us.
