Can You Hear What I Hear?
My question is: Does nature require that we are a witness to carry out what it was designed to do? The answer is absolutely not.

Baltimore Catechism,
Lesson 5: 48-49, p 31
48. What is man?
Man is a creature composed of body and soul, and made in the image and likeness of God.
49. Is this likeness to God in the body or in the soul?
This likeness to God is chiefly in the soul [spirit-mind-will]. The likeness to the Blessed Trinity is found chiefly in man's soul, but there is a resemblance in the body too - not however in the body of one man alone, but in man and woman united in marriage and the child which is the normal fruit of the marriage.
Comments:
Therefore, since only Man-Woman-Child (in marriage) is the image and likeness of God in man's body, homosexuality - man/man or woman/woman - is a mortal sin and will never be recognized by God as being 1) a marriage, 2) a family, 3) good or 4) holy
I don't care what Bergoglio says.
I don't care what Bergoglio says.
THE FAMILY is a reflection of the image and likeness of God as the earthly trinity.
THE HOLY FAMILY is the epitome of the earthly trinity.
In this painting we see the DOUBLE TRINITY. The first Trinity is GOD - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
The second Trinity is the FAMILY - man/woman/child. Here the Family is represented by its epitome - The Holy Family - Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Therefore, same-sex "marriage" is NOT the image and likeness of God. It is the image and likeness of the devil therefore a mortal sin.

Pope's Song for 2020: Give Me that New Age Religion!
Ready to sing "Give me that new age religion!" |
Did you hear about the Christmas concert at the Vatican where they once again honored Pachamama? Really -- they even urged the folks in the audience to cross their arms over their hearts so they could feeeeeel the heartbeat of Mother Earth.
You can't make this stuff up!
Do you think they had special hymns for Pachamama? She definitely needs a new age religion to update her pagan religion.
As Janet Baker at Restore D.C. Catholicism wrote, proselytizing for paganism is A-okay in Rome. It's just those pesky rigid Catholics who cling to the faith of our Fathers who may not proselytize. Shamans and witch doctors? They get the green light.
So....here's the old version of the song with the new Vatican lyrics beneath. Let's all learn to sing it to purge our rigid adherence to the truth as taught by Jesus Christ and get with the modern world. To limber up and shake off our rigidity we should first do the Hokey-Pokey.

Did You Hear about the "Great Christmas Blizzard?" Chicken Little Attributes it to Global Warming!
The "Great Blizzard of 1888" ground traffic to a standstill in NYC. |
Yeah, right!
The unexpected blizzard of the headline happened after Christmas. It was an "extratropical cyclone blizzard winter story" and piled on a record snowfall in the northeast. New York City saw over 26 inches of snow in fewer than 24 hours when the white stuff fell at a rate of three inches an hour. Seventy-seven people died, public transportation ground to a stop. Buses and cars were abandoned in the streets making them nearly impassable for emergency vehicles. Telephone and electric service was spotty due to downed power and phone lines.

On the Feast of St. Stephen, Be Brave! Make a Decision to be a Warrior against the Culture of Death.
But be prepared for the persecution! You may lose your job; you probably won't lose your life. Be a man like the seven sons in Maccabees and a woman like their courageous mother. Let us fight for the faith and for the culture, walking in the footsteps of St. Stephen!
Fr. Tom Collins sent me this email the other day:
The video link below dramatically shows how courageously confronting the secularist “social justice” agenda can be quite effective. Sadly, this agenda still guides many powerful officials in the Vatican and the USCCB, as they become incrementally more adept at adapting to and adopting the secularist Culture of Desecration of Death.

Sunday Meditation: Blogging Takes a Back Seat to Family!
Busy time of the year, eh? Did you miss our posts the past few days? Maybe you were too busy to notice. I get it!
My husband and I just returned from four days visiting one of our children in Pittsburgh so we could go to the Kreitzer annual Christmas party in Wheeling, Larry's hometown. Since his parents died almost 20 years ago, we don't get back to Wheeling nearly as much as we used to. Parents are the magnets that pull you all together. Now that we are the patriarchal generation, getting together with other extended family just doesn't happen as much as it used to, sad to say.
What a blessing it was to see most of Larry's eight siblings, their spouses, the nieces and nephews, the grand nieces and nephews....whew! I had to have a cheat sheet to keep all the names straight. The children have changed so much since our last visit.

"Woe to Those Who Call Good Evil and Evil Good!" Isaiah 5:20
I've been reading Cardinal Sarah's book, God or Nothing. And as I read the excerpt below I couldn't help but think of the quote from Isaiah because we are living it! Perversion of language is all around us being used to advance evils almost beyond imagining. Sin is first conceived in the mind and social engineering begins with verbal engineering. If you can convince someone that an evil is good, something that frees and ennobles one, getting them to embrace that evil becomes relatively easy.

As a Trinity Survivor, I'm Warning Parents! Be Careful of So-Called "Catholic" Colleges!
....and Catholic schools at ALL LEVELS that scandalize your children.
I graduated from Trinity in 1968 and walked out the church door a few months later. Fortunately, my insanity didn't last long. (I credit my youthful devotion to Our Lady and my good Catholic upbringing for that!) When I got engaged in 1969, my future husband and I faced the serious question of how to raise our childen. Obviously, we couldn't do that on our own, sinful humans as we are. We knew our limits! So we went to confession, back to church, and embraced the faith with gusto with all its difficult and challenging truths!

It's Miscellaneous Monday Musings: On "Cultural Appropriation"
Hey Hillary, is wearing a kimono style coat cultural appropriation? |
Wait a minute!
Do liberals even eat at Chinese restaurants? Isn't eating Chinese food (or Mexican or Thai or Italian or French, etc.) cultural appropriation unless you happen to come from that particular cultural background? Shouldn't Americans be restricted to eating American food and maybe the food of their cultural heritage?
Is it okay to drink French wines? Or Australian if you aren't French or Australian? (Thank God Virginia makes good wines!)
Since I come from a primarily German and Irish background is it okay for me to eat sauerbraten and shepherds pie and drink German beer and Irish coffee, but tacos and enchiladas and margaritas along with moo goo gai pan, chop suey, and rice wine are off the menu?

Sunday Meditation: Guest Post -- Watch Your Language! Words Mean Something!
Fr. Tom Collins hits one out of the ball park again! Words are important. Be careful how you use them!
Specifically, many Church leaders have embraced the premises contained in secularist language to pollute even the sanctuary of the Church. For example, many seem to agree that the Eucharistic Christ is either not a person or a transgendered person by routinely referring to Him as “it”. Note how, even in the officially approved translation of the commingling prayer before the Agnus Dei, the Eucharistic Christ is referred to as “it’, not as “Him”. And the laity routinely and without correction refer to Him as “it”, just as they glibly and without correction refer to His Precious Blood as “wine”.

Insanity at the Vatican: Will It Ever End?
Big papal smile for Greta; nothing but frowns and scolds for "proselytizing" faithful. |
One can only sigh and think of Job. "What did we do to deserve this, Lord?" And then remember our sins and recall that suffering can sanctify. "Offer it up for the poor souls in Purgatory!" as my mom regularly advised us to do while my nine siblings and I were growing up. It remains good advice.
Suffering is good for the soul. Remember the spiritual work of mercy, to bear wrongs patiently...and, of course, to unite them to the cross of Christ.
But please, Pope Francis, -- praising Greta for being TIME's "person of the year?" And saying she is a "great witness" to Church teaching on the environment? This all sounds like an article from the Babylon Bee satire site!
Vatican calls Greta Thunberg ‘great witness’ of Church’s environmental teaching

American Pet Parenting vs the Dogs of Ecuador
Definitely not Ecuador. |
Whatever.
A major difference between a pro-life culture and a culture that is not is the way people treat their animals, dogs in particular. Ecuador is 95% Catholic so people living there have BABIES. Real human ones, not "fur babies". Children are everywhere in Ecuador. Here in America how many of us know people who, not wanting children, fill the void in their lives by "parenting" 3 or 4 dogs?

My Catholic endocrinologist is giving me pills to turn me into a liberal!
Marty Feldman's bulging eyes were the result of Graves Disease. |
Graves Disease, named after Sir Robert Graves in the early 19th century, is a disease of the thyroid gland which in turn affects every cell in the body. Years ago at age 34 I got a raging case of Graves Disease which was diagnosed by a close friend who was a dermatologist and my "race track buddy". He sent me to the hospital for blood tests and neck X-rays where a doctor there commented that I was very very sick and that this was "not good for someone who is 34 years old." I burst into tears thinking I was going to die and leave my children orphans.
But then a week later with test results in hand my friend the dermatologist told me, "I have good news and bad news." I asked for the bad news first, then the good. He said, "The bad news is that you have a very severe, off the charts, case of Graves Disease. The good news is that you will be just fine. This is completely treatable." (This disease was a large factor in my conversion to the Catholic Church. Today I thank God for having loved me enough to send it as my Great Wake Up Call.)

Nancy Pelosi, I Know Who You Are and I Saw What You Did
Nancy Pelosi’s recent divergence from decorum opened a window exposing who she is and what she’s really like when she steps out of her scripted public persona. On the inside she’s a communist in conflict with her own self, who thinks she can profess something with her tongue that is contrary to the motives of her mind, formed and perfected after years of practice inside the Democrat Party, the party of lies.

Signs in the Heavens and Our Lady's Intercession
Mary will never abandon us! |
We live in a time that the blood of the innocent cries out to heaven! Come, Lord Jesus, save your little ones!
Once before Our Lady came to this continent and converted a people committed to pagan practices. We know about her apparitions to Juan Diego, but Mary was active in Mexico decades before that. She had to be! How could a few thousand Spaniards defeat an empire of tens of millions? I have no doubt Mary was interceding and urging her Son to give signs from heaven that convinced Montezuma his nation would crumble. How else could the small Spanish force, even if they were willing to "risk something for God," defeat the demonic empire of millions with many trained warriors?

Today's "Palliative Care" isn't what you think it is! Fight SB 2080
Vulnerable elderly need our vigilance! |
As I read the bill, it's about funding the education of "care teams" who are being trained in the new palliative approach that isn't about caring for patients, but caring for the bottom line. Palliative care today is more about saving money than caring for patients. Teams are trained to urge patients to refuse treatment.
Every time I go to a "care meeting" with my sister at her nursing home, the staff bring up "the form" again which is a subtle pressure to refuse end-of-life care and choose non-treatment. For example, one question is about refusing intubation. If I had encouraged my sister to do that she would likely be dead. During a bout with pneumonia last year she was on a ventilator in ICU for about 24 hours. She would probably have died without it.
Nancy Pelosi, Self-Proclaimed "Devout Catholic," Goes Ballistic When She's Asked if She "Hates" Trump
Of course she hates Trump! And everybody knows it!
All the abortion-loving Democrats hate Trump. Planned Parenthood hates Trump most of all, and, let's face it, most Democrats are in their blood-soaked pockets. But note how Pelosi flared up and immediately went to the podium and used children to launch a further attack on Trump. This is a typical Democrat strategy. Remember Waco? They killed the children because they cared about the children.

Guest Post: "We Must Risk Something for God." Hernando Cortez facing the Aztecs!
Human sacrifice at the Aztec temple
We live in an age every bit as bloody and diabolical as the Aztec Empire where tens of thousands of
captured enemies could be sacrificed to their demon-gods in one religious ceremony spanning a few days. Their pyramids, visible for miles, flowed with blood as they ripped the hearts out of their victims and rolled their bodies down the steep steps.
Are we more "civilized" than the Aztecs? Does the fact that we sacrifice smaller victims who are often hidden from view make our demonic blood-letting more acceptable?
NO!
In fact, it may make our killing worse. The Aztecs sacrificed prisoners taken in war. That doesn't justify their brutal murders, but they were combatants. The murder of a tiny baby ripped from his mother's womb and harvested for his heart and other organs is even more diabolical.

Today is the Day the Exorcists Call on Us to Fast and Pray...

Question for the Day: Why hasn't Bransfield been criminally charged for fraud and embezzlement?
He transferred millions from Wheeling Hospital into what was essentially a personal slush fund and used that and parishioner donations to line his own pockets, buy jewelry, eat at expensive restaurants, hire private jets, pay for his liquor bill not to mention spending hundreds of thousands to buy influence from other clerics. Read the Intelligencer's October 28th article with a barf bag in hand.
What makes all this even more disgusting is that last March the diocese found "no criminal activity" in their investigation of Bransfield. Who ran the investigation? Bransfield's gay amigos?
Read the definition of felony embezzlement. Isn't that what Bransfield did in moving millions from Wheeling Hospital to an account that he then used like a personal checking account? Keep praying that the boils on the body of Holy Mother Church are lanced and healed. It's time for Bransfield to face criminal charges! And when, for heaven's sake, will he be dismissed from the clerical state?

This is a MUST READ -- A Theological Review of the Amazon Synod by Dr. Peter Kwasniewski
Be honest, you pope worshipers out there -- WHAT HAPPENED AT THE SYNOD WAS IDOLATRY! Not only that, but, after reading this article, I can only say it was pagan worship on steroids!
I'm Sorry to Say this, but the Pope is a Mean Man!
Is this the face of the Francis Church? |
I missed this article in September, but, in view of the recent Amazon Synod, I think it's timely to share it. The pope smiles at shamans and witch doctors, but a woman who introduces her convert friends gets a nasty comment, the evil eye and public condemnation in the press!
From the article:
The Argentinian pontiff’s September 5 remarks were published yesterday in the Holy See’s news website Vatican News.
“Today I felt a certain bitterness after a meeting with young people,” Pope Francis told the assembled Jesuits.
“A woman approached me with a young man and a young woman. I was told they were part of a slightly fundamentalist movement,” he continued.
“She said to me in perfect Spanish: ‘Your Holiness, I am from South Africa. This boy was a Hindu and converted to Catholicism. This girl was Anglican and converted to Catholicism.’ But she told me in a triumphant way, as though she was showing off a hunting trophy. I felt uncomfortable and said to her, ‘Madam, evangelization yes, proselytism no.’”

Title of this post is: I TOLD YOU SO...but no one listened
Question: Why do Catholics continue to vote for this filth?
Answer: Because their priests and bishops vote for this filth.
Question: Why do Catholic priests and bishops vote for this filth?
Answer: Because the majority of Catholic priests and bishops are Leftists.
Leftists always vote for Democrats.
The Democratic Party has fallen into great evil.
Voting for evil makes a person acquiescent with filth.
Question: How can they be so ignorant?
Answer: Because most of them are homosexuals therefore do not know Christ.
And this is the evil organization the pope tells us to obey! NO WAY!
U.N. Pushing Anti-Life Agenda Again at Nairobi Summit
I'll summarize in case you don't want to read the entire article.
Pro-life activists say the summit (November 12-14) was "rigged to push through radical anti-life and anti-family language that threatens the lives of unborn babies, the dignity of the family, and their traditional culture."
Accelerating the promise? To kill babies in the Third World to save the planet from climate change? |

Sunday Meditation: What Will You do for Advent?
My parents' grave at the Naval Academy |
As November comes to a close, I'm thinking about how I want to keep Advent. Every month the Catholic calendar invites us to reflect on something special in the Christian life. For November, it was remembering the dead and I decided to go to a cemetery every day and pray the chaplet of the Sacred Heart. "O sweetest Heart of Jesus I implore that I may ever love Thee more and more." I only missed a few days and visiting cemeteries made me acutely aware of the shortness of life and the reality of death.
The longest life I found was a gentleman in a cemetery near my house who lived to the age of 110, but most in the graveyard lived far fewer years. Many died years before my current age. There were graves of young people in the prime of life. I wondered how they died. There were graves for babies who lived only a few days, and I thought of the grief of their parents as they laid their little ones in the cold ground and I prayed for their comfort. It was a month of mourning with plenty of tears -- for the loss of my own family and friends and for all the strangers many with names well-known in our little town.
