Lesbian Houston Mayor Helps the Abortion Industry
Let's get these videos to go viral. Douglas Karpen is Houston's' Kermit Gosnell. Karpen kills babies who survive abortion by wringing their necks or snipping their spinal columns with scissors. He is no less a monster than Gosnell. And yet, Karpen and Planned Parenthood of Houston are being protected and enabled by Houston police and elected officials like lesbian Houston mayor Annise Parker. Justice is being obstructed in Houston the same way justice was obstructed in Kansas by Governor Kathleen Sebelius who protected late-term abortionist George Tiller. Abortionists make beaucoup bucks and they are happy to invest some of them buying the support of local politicians.
Pass these to all your social media links. Karpen is committing acts that violate Texas law. Murdering already born babies is illegal. That isn't abortion; it's infanticide and we haven't made that legal....yet!

Do Your Kids Belong to the State? They Do Under Common Core!
Better read up on this. Every tyrannical government goes after the kids. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. Both parties have been involved in usurping parents' role as primary educators. You parents, after all, are too dumb to know what to do. So the professionals and the government bureaucrats at the Department of Education will do it for you. Note that CC dumbs down education. According to a math expert involved in developing CC who refused to sign off on the finished product, by 8th grade, children will be about two years behind their peers in other countries in math skills. CC also allows the Department of education to share your children's private and identifiable information (including health information and disciplinary histories) with whomever they deem appropriate -- one more assault on privacy.
Here are some links to get started learning about Common Core and why it's dangerous for your kids. If you want them to be dumbed down government robots just climb on board with Common Core. If you want children who can think for themselves rationally instead of emotionally, fight CC!

Have You Heard of Common Core?
That's the latest indoctrination program for kids in the public schools. Take a look at this "writing" program for early elementary used in Utah public schools. Note one of the goals is "changing attitudes." Is that what writing programs are all about. Wake up, parents!
Teaching children manipulative techniques fits very well with the manipulative techniques of community organizing groups. Shall we teach our children to convince people by using "emotional words" or do we want to teach them logic and critical thinking? I know how I would answer that question. How about you?.

Mass in Front Royal on St. Cyril's Feast Day
Being St. Cyril's feast day, Father's homily focused on the Council of Ephesus which declared Mary the Mother of God (Theotokos). Early Church councils always addressed heresies and the Council of Ephesus was no exception. The Bishop Nestorius of Constantinople, a major see in the Church, was teaching that Jesus was two persons, one divine and one human. Mary, he said, was mother only of the human Jesus, not the divine. Of course, this heresy flew in the face of both Church doctrine and common sense, making Jesus the ultimate schizophrenic with His body separate from his spirit. St. Cyril, a doctor of the Church, opposed Nestorius and it is to him we owe the second half of the Hail Mary which declares her "Holy Mary, Mother of God."

Supreme Court Does it Again: Shades of Roe v. Wade
Well, folks, it's two more 5-4 travesties at the Supreme Court, rulings consistent with the past. Five oligarchs in black have struck down DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) and ruled California's Proposition 8 unconstitutional. The DOMA ruling gives "married" homosexuals the same rights to federal benefits as real married couples. That will have major financial implications since homosexuals playing house now have their fingers in the taxpayers' pockets. Benefits originally established to protect spouses and children will go to supplement the incomes of same-sex couples many of whom already have dual professional incomes. It's a bonanza with taxpayers footing the bill.
Poisoning marriage makes perfect sense from the justices' perspective. After all, they killed the fruit of marriage in 1973 with abortion-on-demand. Killing marriage itself makes perfect sense.
And, once again, it was Catholics leading the pack to affirm a grave moral evil. (Harry Blackmun who wrote the majority opinion in Roe v. Wade, while himself not Catholic, was deeply influenced by Catholic justice William Brennan, the author of Griswold v. Connecticut, the precursor of Roe.) And yes, Catholic Anthony Kennedy wrote the decision overturning DOMA and Catholic John Roberts wrote the Proposition 8 decision declining to rule which leaves the ban on Proposition 8 intact. It's a non-ruling that, in fact, is a ruling. The only good news is that it was based on the standing of the appellants who appealed when the state of California would not.
With the highest court in the land supporting the legislative assault on marriage, the states are the only bastion left and they are falling fast. Twelve currently allow same-sex marriage. In the light of the Supreme Court's decisions the dominoes are in place and it seems same-sex marriage on demand is inevitable. Can anyone be confident that, had California's governor appealed the ban on implementing Proposition 8, the Supreme Court would have upheld it? Seems unlikely. The sad truth is that the division in the country just widened in magnitude exponentially between the sheep who follow the Lord and the goats who follow immoral desires. Serious prayer and fasting is in order.
What happened today makes November's election in Virginia even more important. The patriots of Virginia were beacons of light to the colonies of 1776. The moral evils they opposed were trivial compared to the moral evils facing us today, one of which is the unrestricted power of a Leviathan central government . States certainly cannot undo the evils at the federal level, but a state can still speak truth to power and we have a team of men who are not afraid to do that. I hope you will financially support our pro-life candidates, Ken Cuccinelli, E.W. Jackson, and Mark Obenshain. They are men of whom the founders would be proud!
And now as individuals - how should serious Catholics respond to this blow to the heart? If you're married, love and respect your spouse and reaffirm your promises. Much of the disintegration of marriage is directly related to the infidelity and moral lapses of married Christians who have abandoned their vows. We need to exchange the mantra, "I have the right to be happy!" for the biblical admonition, "Take up your cross and follow me." Love your children and raise them in the faith. Witness to God's goodness through the way you live your life. And don't forget to fast and pray. Did you hear that? Don't forget to fast and pray. Remember, some demons are only driven out through serious spiritual warfare.
Above all, we must never despair despite the storm of evil descending on us. God never deserts His people. And the only thing that ultimately matters is to know, love, and serve God so we can be happy with Him in heaven. We live in martyr-making times and that's not all bad.

Hunker Down and Keep the Faith
The dear priest who witnessed our marriage was a benedictine monk who suffered greatly for his orthodoxy. As a matter of fact, the monks were happy to have him teach chemistry at the University of Maryland so they didn't have to deal with his faith. He told us once when we were lamenting the state of the Church that the laity always bring her back. I thought of Father when I listened to Michael Voris' message today. Keep the faith and pass it on to your children and grandchildren.

John Kerry is Soooo Worried about American Lives
John Kerry: 'People may die' because of Edward Snowden
John Kerry's concern for American lives is touching. And Edward Snowden is a monster who has threatened the country because "terrorists may now know how to protect themselves in some way or another that they didn't know before." (Is he serious? Are terrorists so stupid they didn't expect the government to be listening in on their social networking. Snowden only exposed how broad the government dragnet is, i.e., it's targeting every one of us! I sure wasn't surprised to have my suspicions confirmed! And, as other whistleblowers have said, you don't need to eavesdrop on the entire population to catch terrorists! That, my friends, is all about having the ability to target political enemies including "domestic terrorists" like Catholics and pro-lifers!)
"But who is the real danger to the American people? I submit that it's Kerry and his liberal cohorts. Their actions mean not that people "may" die, but people "do" die, and in massive numbers. John Kerry and his ilk have enabled the murder of millions of little U.S. citizens who were never allowed to see the light of day. Their murders have had tremendous implications for the country both moral and economic. The demographic winter around the world is no joke and it is directly related to the murder of the world's children. Much of that murder, especially in the third world, can be traced directly back to the U.S. and liberal lawmakers who tie abortion and contraception strings to foreign aid packages. The minute Obama took office in 2009, he ended the ban on foreign aid abortion funding instituted by Bush. He did it quietly and without fanfare. After all, we wouldn't want those ubermenchen in the third world getting the idea that the U.S. wants to exterminate them. If you read the history of the abortion movement, it's clear that it was tied to eugenics and population control from the beginning. Concern for women and all their other slogans are nothing but smoke screens to hide their real motivation which is to elevate the "superior" people (like them) and have a bunch of serfs (like those other people) to serve them. Scratch a pro-abortion person and you will find an elitist, a male chauvinist pig, a selfish hedonist, or a poor frightened and coerced mom being pushed into abortion. There's one other category: those who have embraced the politically correct mantra and have never done any homework to discover how evil abortion is. Pray for them all. There are a lot of dead babies (and wounded mothers) to answer for!

Is Bill Donohue Serious?
Bill Donohue of the Catholic League came out defending Obama's remarks in Belfast about Catholic schools claiming that anyone criticizing the president must not have read his speech. Oh...he also called their reaction "insane:"
Think about all this for a minute. Segregation in the United States was the forced separation of people by the color of their skin. Blacks could not attend white schools, sit at white only lunch counters, use white only restrooms and drinking fountains, etc. In every way whites were portrayed as superior to blacks including their privileged position at the front of the bus. It was a distinction based on how people look.
Faith schools, on the other hand, are based on what people believe and Catholics believe that all people are created in the image and likeness of God. The Catholic faith, properly taught, encourages respect, kindness, patience, charity, etc. Those virtues hardly "encourage division."
Now I'm not familiar enough with Irish schools to know whether Catholic and Protestant schools in Northern Ireland are open to children of other faiths. I suspect they are. However, if parents self select to send their children to schools that uphold and teach the faith they profess, that is a religious right that ought to be respected. Of course, we know from experience that Obama and his leftist cronies do not respect religious rights! And he carried that discrimination against religion into his Belfast speech. He condemned faith schools and blamed them, among other things, for the division and lack of peace in Northern Ireland.
No surprise there. Obama is an unregenerate liberal who would like nothing better than to force all children from the time they can toddle around the nursery into the failing public schools where they can be indoctrinated in leftist ideas and separated from the faith of the their fathers and mothers. He opposes parental choice in education and, I have no doubt, would eliminate home schooling if he could. He is the enemy of religion as his contraceptive mandate and forced abortion funding so strongly illustrate. His antagonism toward faith-based schools was definitely an attack that conservative critics recognized accurately!
I would never accuse Bill Donohue of being stupid, but his comments about Obama's speech were certainly naive in the extreme. Obama condemned not only Catholic schools, but Protestant schools as well. He essentially blamed the Christian faith for violence, a regular mantra of the left. While they declare Islam the "religion of peace," they blame Christianity for all the ills of the world...you know the drill....the crusades, the inquisition, the witch trials, yadda, yadda, yadda. It was a theme Obama continued in Belfast. How and why did Bill Donohue miss it? Beats me!
[T]he reaction on the part of conservatives, many of whom are Catholic, over his speech in Ireland, is simply insane.Well, I read the Obamas' speeches (Michelle introduced Barack) and I disagree with Bill Donohue. Obama equated faith schools, both Catholic and Protestant, to "segregation." Here's what he said (in context, Bill):
In today’s hyper-connected world, what happens here has an impact on lives far from these green shores. If you continue your courageous path toward a permanent peace, and all the social and economic benefits that have come with it, that won’t just be good for you, it will be good for this entire island. It will be good for the United Kingdom. It will be good for Europe. It will be good for the world.
We need you to get this right. And what’s more, you set an example for those who seek a peace of their own. Because beyond these shores, right now, in scattered corners of the world, there are people living in the grip of conflict -- ethnic conflict, religious conflict, tribal conflicts -- and they know something better is out there. And they’re groping to find a way to discover how to move beyond the heavy hand of history, to put aside the violence. They’re studying what you’re doing. And they’re wondering, perhaps if Northern Ireland can achieve peace, we can, too. You’re their blueprint to follow. You’re their proof of what is possible -- because hope is contagious. They’re watching to see what you do next.
Now, some of that is up to your leaders. As someone who knows firsthand how politics can encourage division and discourage cooperation, I admire the Northern Ireland Executive and the Northern Ireland Assembly all the more for making power-sharing work. That’s not easy to do. It requires compromise, and it requires absorbing some pain from your own side. I applaud them for taking responsibility for law enforcement and for justice, and I commend their effort to “Building a United Community” -- important next steps along your transformational journey.
Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity -- symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others -- these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it. If towns remain divided -- if Catholics have their schools and buildings, and Protestants have theirs -- if we can’t see ourselves in one another, if fear or resentment are allowed to harden, that encourages division. It discourages cooperation.Exactly what did the president say here? That having faith-based schools is segregation, that it is divisive, it causes fear and resentment, and encourages division. Interestingly, an organization in the U.K. agrees. The British Humanist Association (BHA) actively targets faith-based schools calling themselves "Britain’s only dedicated campaigner against ‘faith’ schools." Here's how they interpreted Obama's speech:
Ultimately, peace is just not about politics. It’s about attitudes; about a sense of empathy; about breaking down the divisions that we create for ourselves in our own minds and our own hearts that don’t exist in any objective reality, but that we carry with us generation after generation.
United States President Barack Obama has called for an end to faith-based schooling in Northern Ireland, criticising ‘segregated schools’ as ‘encouraging division’ and ‘discouraging cooperation’. The British Humanist Association (BHA) has welcomed the comments.Seems like the BHA understood Obama's speech better than Bill Donohue did!
Sunday Meditation: Home Alone
It is eerily quiet. Our five little peppers (an assortment of sweet, mild, and hot) are reunited with their mom and dad and just drove away with a honk and a wave. After a bustling and hopping week, it is strange indeed to return to the quiet of our "ordinary time."
It makes me think of the gospels. Jesus certainly had busy, noisy times surrounded by crowds that pressed in upon Him. He loved all those dear souls seeking His help and especially loved the children. How much He was like a grandparent in that way! But He also looked forward to getting away with his closest friends for a quiet time to teach and pray.
This evening quiet time is on our menu. We are out in the quiet desert (the air conditioner froze up so it is definitely turning to desert) away from the crowds calling for attention. ("Gramma, watch me....Gramma, I'm hungry....What's for dinner?....Paka, will you read us a book?....May we have a snack?....Will you help me (whatever)?... Is it time to swim yet?... May we watch a video?.... Where are the art supplies?....What are we doing today?"....and on and on. Ah, but what a fun time. We always love it when our grandchildren come, but we say good-bye with mixed feelings. A rest for two old folks after all that activity is welcome. But, really, peace and quiet isn't all it's cracked up to be -- especially when the alternative is pure joy!
Our last night before the exodus was a birthday celebration that included sending five colored paper lanterns up into the night sky. I picked them up six weeks ago when we went on a wine outing with our daughter and husband along Lake Erie. Camp Kreitzer was the perfect place for the launch and feeling them rise and watching them catch the breeze and float off above the trees was exhilerating and beautiful. It was the perfect way to finish a wonderful week with five precious girls. Thank you, dear Lord, for the gift of grandchildren and for the beauty of Your world. May we never take one precious minute for granted and may we never forget to say thank you!

Should Therapy be about Politically Correct Agendas?
...Or should individuals be able to make their own decisions about whether they want to try to diminish their same-sex attraction? Reparative therapy has helped many people. How dare legislators and courts deny those with same-sex attraction the freedom to choose? Remember those famous words? How come the only choices liberals are willing to allow are choices to kill others or yourself?
Watch the video and visit voices-of-change.org.The stories are truly inspiring and filled with hope. Pray for those afflicted with SSA. Many have been greatly sinned against. When you read and listen to their stories of sexual abuse, some from pre-school days, it breaks your heart. Remember little Jacinta of Fatima whose tender heart reached out to "poor sinners." And think of Jesus on the cross saying, "Father, forgive them; they know not what they do."

People Can Change; Can Gay People?
Exodus International is closing up shop saying, "Sorry, guys, we goofed. We know you gay guys can't change after all. Our mistake!"
Well, deep-seated disorders are certainly difficult to change. Ask anybody who is tempted to any disordered behavior. Does an alcoholic ever lose the desire to drink? Does an ex-addict never desire one more fix?
But, if you believe the testimony of men who claim to have changed...well, it is not impossible although the temptations may never disappear completely. After all, moral living happens one decision at a time, one overcome temptation at a time.
Check out the witness of men who say they left the gay lifestyle behind. The founder of Exodus International, Alan Medinger, who died in 2010 was one of them. I wonder what he thinks of the organization he founded caving in to the politically correct mantra that same-sex attracted people can never change.

Why Faithful Catholics MUST Criticize and Expose their Shepherds!
I've been chided on many occasions for "criticizing priests." Usually my personal critic quotes from the Pieta Prayer Book which is filled with errors. But this article illustrates exactly why we MUST speak out against unfaithful shepherds who mislead the flock with their heretical positions. Pray for the wolves in sheep's clothing, but listen to them at your peril. They are helping Satan gobble up souls. You don't want to be one of the lambs at the feast because you won't be AT the table but ON it!

Biggest Abortion Mill in Virginia Closes - Pray it's Permanent!
Another Virginia abortion mill bites the dust -- hopefully for good. Last year Operation Rescue reported a temporary closure after botched abortions. and complaints to the Virginia Health Department and Board of Physicians. The abortionist had her license suspended earlier after an abortion death and other botched abortion. Read more here. Women need to understand that abortionists are the bottom feeders of the medical field. Instead of "doing no harm" their intent is lethal harm to the baby and often unintended harm to the mother. Hire hit men lack integrity and their first priority is money, not concern for people.
And now the latest via e-mail:

Dear Friends,
Exciting news! We received word that NOVA Women’s Healthcare on 10400 Eaton Place is CLOSED. Building workers said they saw moving vans Tuesday this week, others came forward to tell Pro-lifers they were closed for business. We have no word they are opening up elsewhere and pray they are closed for good. If you call their office, they are directing women to Falls Church Healthcare and Alexandria Women’s Health – both abortion mills.
We invite you to join us in Final Closing Prayers on Saturday, June 29 at 10:00 am at 10400 Eaton Place! Hope to see you there!! We are also planning a Closing Celebration sometime next month and will let you know when we have the details worked out.
Thanks be to God! And thanks for your prayers!
God bless,
PS. This was the largest abortion mill in VA for years.....doing 3500 abortions in 2011 and 3000 in 2012!Pray this baby/woman butcher isn't opening at a new location!

If You Wanna Be Happy for the Rest of Your Life...
Costly weddings could be crippling for new marriages
The Marriage Foundation is focusing its mission on educating couples about the benefits of getting married and having children, and helping them to realize they can have a wedding reception focused on what’s important, rather than on extravagant spending.Really -- do you need a $5000 dollar engagement ring and an $800 dollar dress? Do you need a fancy "venue" with a price tag to match? Will you be less married if you opt for simple homemade wedding cake instead of a gourmet, white chocolate, raspberry filled whatever? And do you really need a $500 limo for the thirty minutes you spend riding from home to the church and the church to the reception?
I love blogger Melissa Naasko's advice “never ever, ever buy a bridal magazine...because they’re all geared just to sell stuff.” Yup...and the bigger and fancier the better...for the wedding industry that is.
Too many couples focus on all the wedding hoopla and think the marriage will take care of itself. But the wedding is just one day and only about 1/4 of a day at that. Focusing on the marriage makes a lot more sense and focusing on the people coming to the wedding rather than the hoopla makes even better sense. If you don't have a big back yard, how about renting a pavilion at a local park?
Everyone has talented family and friends who can help out as well. Wouldn't that be a great and more personal wedding gift than a blender? I hope backyard wedding receptions will become the rage. I've been to a few and they were no less enjoyable (in some cases more so) than the extravaganzas at the hotels which, come to think about it, are more like cookie-cutter events. If you're planning a wedding, think simple. The money you save is better spent saving toward your first home. Invest in marriage, not in the wedding day festivities.

Rush Tells It Like It Is on Abortion!
Limbaugh: Abortion at Root of Much of America's Ills
There's something a little strange when a secular voice speaks moral truth loud and clear while many religious voices are silent or dead wrong. Rush Limbaugh, in fact, speaks up more frequently and more clearly than many U.S. bishops and religious. When have we heard the nuns on the bus say, abortion "is at the root of our cultural rot and decay?" Never! Sr. Simone Campbell is more likely to say our problems are due to not enough immigration or global warming.

Remember the Village that Raises the Children?
It's Gramma's house! Today we enjoyed the company of seven little girls from two families. Five belong to our oldest daughter from Pennsylvania and range in age from 18 down to five. They are staying with us for the week while their parents enjoy a holiday. The other two, almost five and almost two, belong to our youngest daughter who lives locally. What a great time all these happy little sisters and cousins had today. We took the five to Mass then came home and weeded in the garden for half an hour, got good and hot, then changed into swim suits for a leisurely day in the pool. Cousins arrived in time for lunch and joined the fun. When all the girls had finally had enough swimming they moved on to the dress up box and the art supplies. And then it was time to help set the table for dinner, eat, and clean up. Everyone worked and everyone played, just the way families should be.
As I blog, the girls are donning pj's for a pajama party with a movie and popcorn. The only one not staying is the baby who's not quite ready for a sleepover even with her big sister. And, of course, there will be stories read by "Paka" and evening prayers by candlelight.
I call this a good summer day and we have lots of plans for the rest of the week as we celebrate the joys of grandchildren: the potato chip factory, hiking, wading in a feeder stream of the Shenandoah River, thrift store shopping, and, of course, morning Mass. This week of family fun is why we settled at "Camp Kreitzer" instead of buying a retirement cottage, and we are never happier than when it is filled up and bustling with musical little voices. If you could hear our "Chirpita" and her sisters describing all the fun of their day, you would understand exactly what I'm talking about.
How can anyone ever think there can be too many little ones? No wonder Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Do not hinder them. The kingdom of God belongs to such as these." We had a foretaste of His kingdom today and it filled our hearts with joy!

Happy Father's Day
For dinner at our house today we honored four fathers. My husband and three sons-in-law who among them fathered a combined total of sixteen children. What a delightful evening! One granddaughter made homemade cards (printed in vibrant colors at Staples) that depicted a game she and her sisters have played with their grandfather since they were tiny. It's called "Katie the Lion" and consists of Larry the gorilla chasing Katie the lion, Jenny the giraffe, and several other assorted critters whose names I've forgotten. Another grandchild came running into the house asking Paka for a game of pai gow (double handed poker0. The baby of the group who is 22 months old toddled into the house calling "Paka" and saying "na na na nyow!", her interpretation of her grandad's noise when he pulls back the swing and sends her flying.

Ah California, the Land of Limitless Legislator Loonies...
...has just passed another stunning bill, AB1266. The public schools are now required to allow boys and girls to share facilities, i.e., bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers irrespective of their differing body parts. This takes show-and-tell to a radical new level. It also lets boys who feel like girls compete against girls on athletic teams giving them an unfair advantage and limiting girls' opportunities.
Here's the wording of the bill that mandates this insanity:
A pupil shall be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records.Take a look at some of the legislators supporting the bill.
According to the LGBTQXYZ lobby this is all about protecting transgender kids. Nobody worries about protecting normal, healthy Christian kids these days. The whole world has to join a psychotic game where there is no reality outside an individual's own feelings. Parents who still have the brains to recognize this "emperor has no clothes" scenario need to pull their kids out of California's public schools. Children are no longer spiritually safe in an environment where they are being trained to call good evil and evil good. That is a surefire training ground to lead the young straight to hell. Whether these irresponsible adults are sincere or not, the truth is not in them. And those with moral sense will flee!

How Come the Sequester Never Stops a Presidential Boondoggle?
Congress authorizes spending. Why does the president seem to have unlimited access to the taxpayers' pockets? A hundred thousand a year for the family dog handler? Why should the taxpayers pay ANYTHING for the first family's pet? Something is certainly rotten in the state of Denmark on the Potomac!

Pro-Lifers Said Mass Euthanasia was Next. We were Right!
The Belgian Parliament is about to pass a new law to let children ask for death. Have you ever heard your little son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter say, "I wish I was dead!" Well, if you live in Belgium don't let them say it in the doctor's office, because they might just get what they wish for and parents will be out of the decision-making loop.
Belgian Parliament Posed To Approve Child Euthanasia Law
Mike Adams, the Health Ranger and editor of Natural News, is up in arms as all people of good will should be. He expressed his outrage in an article, Euthanasia for children nears approval by Belgian Parliament; doctors to mass euthanize children and Alzheimers patients.
Since when is killing people health care? Oops, I forgot, killing unborn children has been health care since 1973 in every state in the U.S. So I guess this next step of killing born children is the natural next step. Why not? Killing the elderly, handicapped, and debilitated has been going on under the radar screen (and sometimes very much on it - like Hugh Finn and Terry Schiavo) for years.
Which brings me to the Groningen Protocol

Late Term Abortionists Not So Rare After All
If you thought Kermit Gosnell was a rarity, think again. According to data extrapolated from a 2005 study by the Guttmacher Institute (Planned Parenthood's research arm), three hundred abortionist kill babies at 20-24 weeks.
Most abortion proponents claim that abortionists only kill babies at this late stage because they are sick or handicapped, as if murder is a treatment for illness or disability. But the reality is that most late-term abortions kill perfectly healthy babies whose mothers are seeking abortions for non-medical reasons. Even the abortionists admit it. They are nothing but hired hit men whose victims happen to be very small.
Abortion kills babies, hurts women, and hardens the consciences of all involved. It does not solve problems, but creates a whole host of new ones. As for the society that allows it, well, what do barbarians look like?
Pope Francis Talks to Children
A few days ago, Pope Francis met with a group of children. He pitched his 5-page prepared speech, gave a brief summary, and then answered questions. One was on politics. Now, frankly, I hate politics, but I'm involved because if Christians aren't who does that leave? I'm not super involved, but I do more than vote. I actively support pro-life candidates. I used to be a precinct chairman, but I don't much walk the precincts these days. I write letters to the editor, collect signatures to get the good guys on the ballot, etc. I was interested to read what Pope Francis' said to the children and their parents about politics:
Getting involved in politics is a Christian duty. We Christians cannot be like Pilate and wash our hands clean of things. We need to get involved in politics because it’s one of the highest expressions of charity. It takes the common into consideration. Lay Christians must work in politics. That’s no easy task you might say. But it isn’t an easy task becoming a priest either! Politics is dirty but the reason it has become dirty is that Christians didn’t get deeply enough involved in the evangelical spirit. It’s easy to find excuses for this… but what do I do? Working for the common good is a Christian duty.He had a lot of other great things to say as well which you can read about here.
The pope has asked us to pray three Hail Marys a day for him. Will you say yes? The three Hail Mary's devotion is also a practice that can inoculate souls against mortal sin. If you stay close to the Mother of God, you will be close to Jesus. She is so entwined with her Son that you cannot love one without loving the other.
Mary, Mother of our Savior, pray for us and for our Holy Father, Pope Francis.
A Few Good Reasons Not to Support Catholic Charities
There are plenty of truly Catholic organizations that serve the poor without getting mixed up in these disgraceful and scandalous situations! I wouldn't give one red cent to Catholic Charities since it often isn't Catholic or even charitable.

Surprised? Pope Confirms to CLAR that a "Gay Lobby" Exists within Vatican
In a private meeting with religious from the Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of Religious, Pope Francis lamented the "gay lobby" at the Vatican. The statement was quoted in a summary document from the meeting produced by a number of attendees who apologized to the pope that it was made public. Read more here and here. And read the CLAR statement (translated) at Rorate Caeli.
Is anybody surprised by the existence of a gay lobby at the Vatican? How else to explain the negligence associated with the sex abuse crisis. The CDF had to know about much of what happened because groups in the U.S. were reporting it. The only thing stunning about this is the admission, even if it was private. How could the pope not expect it to come out. And was he disappointed when it did?

Tim Tebow Joins the Patriots
I had to smile when I read that Tim Tebow was joining "The Patriots." That is, indeed, an appropriate team name for this young man who puts me in mind of our godly founders. They weren't afraid to stand up for what they believed with courage and without apology.
God bless you, Tim! May you be a real inspiration to millions of young kids who can look up to you as a role model.

Hero Edward Snowden Warns: Government is Spying on Americans!

Meet the NSA Whistleblower
Edward Snowden, 29-year-old employee of Booz Allen who released records showing the illegal surveillance of millions of Americans.
Will NSA Whistleblower be Disappeared?
Intelligence officials overheard joking about how NSA leaker should be 'disappeared' after handing classified documents to press
Intelligence officials at Dulles Airport were overheard joking that UK Guardian reporter Glenn Greenwald and NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden should be "disappeared" (secretly murdered). Is that really a joke? Airport security doesn't think joking about bombs is funny, and I don't think much of joking about killing off political enemies -- not with a president who's given himself the authority to target "terrorists" for assassination. Hey, somebody who gives away administration secrets could easily be defined as a "domestic terrorist" and they sure didn't want anyone to know about their illegal surveillance.

Cover up, cover up, cover up -- that's the mantra of this administration! And using the jackboots on whistleblowers is the strategy to scare anyone considering exposure of wrongdoing. (No wonder the NSA wihistleblower left the country.) Hey, you want a career...you shut your mouth and carry water for the power brokers! See more here. It's good to FINALLY see one of the major networks covering the Obama administration's corruption. Let's hope they keep pounding on it until we get the full monty! First it was IRS Luxury Conferences; Now it's EPA "Man Caves"
One thing about Obama -- he's given an example of opulent government living that seems to be having a trickle down effect. We've heard about the IRS lavish conferences ($49 millions worth from 2010-2012) that included luxury hotel suites, employee gifts, $17,000 for ONE speaker, free food and booze paid for with government credit cards, etc. ad nauseum. (Read more here including the IRS audit.)
Well, that was just a crazy aberration right? Wrong! Now we're hearing about an EPA contractor maintaining secret "man caves." (Hey, why shouldn't the contractors get to share in the taxpayers' largesse just like the bureaucrats?) Here's just a paragraph from the EPA Inspector General's report documenting the lack of oversight by EPA at a Landover, MD warehouse:
The warehouse contained multiple unauthorized and hidden personal spaces created by and for the workers that included televisions, refrigerators, radios, microwaves, chairs and couches. These spaces contained personal items, including photos, pin ups, calendars, clothing, books, magazines and videos. The unauthorized personal spaces were arranged so that they were out of sight of security cameras through the use of screens, partitions and piled-up boxes.Since 2007, EPA has pumped over $5 million into maintaining this ONE warehouse. But, sheesh, how can anyone blame them? They were very, very, very busy, after all, measuring the influence of cow flatulence on the ozone layer.
One thing is pretty darn clear: nobody is minding the store! The executive branch is out of control and has been for decades. And it's only getting worse with the spender-in-chief at the help! It's time to eliminate a bunch of these federal agencies. Read the Constitution! Give the responsibilities back to the states where they belong!
The Obama at Columbia Story is Starting to Unravel
Obama's classmates don't remember him at Columbia and neither does a professor whose classes he would have had to take there. Let's face it. It's highly unlikely that Obama ever went to Columbia unless it was an out-of-body experience. That's the only thing that can explain the invisible man.
How much of the rest of Obama's background is a fairy tale? What do you think...will the mainstream media pick up on the Columbia professor's statement? Or will the fantasy writers at the New York Times and the dream spinners at MSNBC and the major networks continue to play Sargeant Schultz of "I know nothing" fame. Why is there such a mantle of silence surrounding Obama? Where are the fellow classmates, the extra curricular buddies, the old girlfriends, etc. talking about their experiences with little Barry? It's a little more than bizarre! It's just plain hard to believe.

Yesterday was the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary: Love & Honor the Queen of Heaven
Did you talk to her at all yesterday on her feast? Not to worry, speak to her now.
Mary is not only the Mother of our Savior, but our mother as well. If Jesus is our brother, Mary must be our mother. I don't understand non-Catholic Christians dissing Mary. (For Catholics to do it is utterly shameful!) Jesus is the Word. He speaks the commandment, "Honor your father and your mother so you will have a long life on the land." Is it reasonable to think Jesus ignored His own commandment? Would He dishonor His own mother or wish her to be overlooked and forgotten? That thought is incomprehensible!
Catholics honor Mary because she is Christ's mother, and He gave her to us when He told John the apostle, "Son, behold your mother."
She is the ark of the covenant who carried the Word made flesh in her body. If non-Catholic Christians love the Word, isn't it natural to love the vessel that carried that word? Aren't the covers of bibles often made of leather and beautifully embossed in gold even though they aren't the word of scripture, but simply enclose it?
Honoring Mary is the most natural thing in the world. To ignore her or actively dishonor her is an inexcusable neglect that cannot possibly be desired by her Son.
Let us pray today that all Catholics will grow in their love for our mother Mary. And let us pray that our Protestant brothers and sisters will come to see how precious she is in the sight of her Son, and how much He desires her to be honored and respected.
In His humility, Jesus came into the earthly world through a woman. Doesn't it make perfect sense that He calls us to come into the heavenly world through the same narrow gate of His mother, the gate through which He Himself passed? Little children play the game, follow the leader. If we follow our leader, the Good Shepherd, we will seek Him always through His mother.
All for Jesus through Mary! Amen.

Scope of Phone Records Grab Goes Beyond Verizon
This is chilling. The technology exists to keep track of everything we do and say, where we are at every minute of the day, etc. You may say, "I have nothing to hide," but that begs the question. Biola University: Hiding the Truth of Abortion
Diana Jiminez is a recently graduated nursing student from nationally ranked Biola University in Southern California. Shortly before graduation she disobeyed a school rule that forbids showing pictures of aborted babies on campus. (See video below.) It is hard to imagine a truly Christian University banning students from telling the truth about one of the most serious moral issues of our age. The hypocrisy stunning!
Please send an email to the president of Biola University, Dr. Barry Corey, through his assistant, Michele Hughes, at michele.hughes@biola.edu. And pray for Diana Jiminez whose career as a nurse is being jeopardized by the draconian order that none of her professors may write her a letter of recommendation. God help us when this is the "Christian" face shown to the world. It is certainly NOT the face of Christ.

We Can Expect More Anglicans to Cross the Tiber
Church of England Drops Opposition to Gay Marriage Bill
God writes straight with crooked lines. He allows evil for the good that may come from it. And one thing that's been clear as a bell in the last few years is that the insanity in the Anglican/Episcopal Church is driving orthodox Christians from that denomination straight into the arms of Holy Mother Church. Certainly the latest politically correct decision to drop opposition to "gay marriage" legislation will be another nail in the coffin for the Church of England. The bishops may not be championing the legislation, but, like the bishops who "dropped opposition" to Henry VIII's invalid marriage to Ann Boleyn and his declaration that he was head of the church in England, they have bowed to a political god. And once again they point to the reality that the only true Church founded by Jesus Christ is the one whose doctrine stands firm. Catholic leaders may waver, but the doctrine founded on the rock of Peter is unchanging.

Pope Francis and the Eucharistic Miracle
Today is the Feast of the Sacred Heart. Over the millenia the Church has documented many Eucharistic miracles. But the one described below is particularly significant because our current Holy Father Pope Francis oversaw the investigation himself. This miracle converted the cardiologist who examined the heart tissue and made the report. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us. O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine.

A Bishop with Backbone: Thomas Paprocki Debates Dissident Nun

A Walk Down Memory Lane: The Golden Years at St. Louis in Alexandria
Lately I've had a few visitors here who claim to know me from my former parish, St. Louis in Alexandria. How many memories they have stirred up! St. Louis is engraved on my heart.
My husband and I worshiped there for about 28 years. We raised our children a mile from the church, sent all our children to the parish school for at least a time and the three oldest graduated from eighth grade there. We were active in the PTO for years and I was one of the "hot dog and playground ladies" for more seasons than I can remember. Our children received all their sacraments there and I even taught fourth grade for a year before I began homeschooling the two youngest. I served as the pro-life chairman for six or seven years and Larry and I opened the church for Monday night novena. We also prayed at the Poor Clare Monastery within our parish boundaries and I often went there for morning Mass.
We lived in a dead-ended neighborhood three houses from the entrance to the community pool. Our two oldest girls loved the swim team and participated until they aged out at 18, and all five kids played community soccer. How many weekends we went from game to game cheering them on as they graduated from the "herd formation" to a real understanding of the game.
We had many favorite spots. Many times we stood at the window outside Krispy Kreme and watched the donuts as they rode up and down the racks before falling into the oil "river," passed through the flipper, then reached the conveyor belt that took them under the icing falls and up the ramp to the employee who boxed them. How we loved to see that "hot doughnuts" sign lit up. During the last few years we were there I often took our oldest grandchild to Mass with the whispered admonition, "If you are doughnut good we'll go to Krispy Kreme." What a wonderful training ground that was for a little one! She loved to sit in the front pew, but if she was "distracting" to other worshipers we moved back the next Mass and then worked our way back to the front. I always rewarded her with lighting a candle, but Krispy Kreme was saved for those special days. And there were man sitting at the counter with hot chocolate and a hot doughnut.
Then there was Huntley Meadows, the nature center nearby with a boardwalk through the wetlands where beavers built dams and lodges, the redwinged blackbirds perched on the cattails, ducks and turtles swam through the pond, and the great blue heron feasted on fish and frogs. My youngest and I spent several wonderful homeschooling years running the Nature Detectives program for pre-schoolers which led to one of our creepier experiences, with a "pet" corn snake. How I hated feeding time with those poor little "pinkies."
Leaving St. Louis was one of the hardest things we ever did and the parish still holds a special place in our hearts. Thinking of the parish and all the dear ones we left behind reminds me of the song in the round. "Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver and the other is gold." Some of those golden friends are gone now, but I continue to depend on them to pray for me.
I have to confess that my anonymous St. Louis acquaintances posting here are not admirers by any stretch of the imagination. It's a humbling reminder that no matter how hard we struggle to do God's will, we cannot please everyone and some will remember us with hostility and even animosity. It's certainly painful, but an opportunity to unite little sufferings to Christ on the cross, a sort of crucifixion by thumbtack as my sister often says.
But even though painful memories weave like black threads among the vibrant colors of a tapestry, I would not trade my years at St. Louis for anything. I still pray for the many pastors and associates who gave us Christ's Body and Blood and served us as spiritual fathers -- yes, both the faithful priests and the unfaithful. I remember with gratitude the school principals and teachers who helped form our children and the long list of good friends: my Cursillo group reunions, the pro-life committee, the school volunteers and office staff, my CCD classes, the other home schooling parents. Those wonderful years at St. Louis were a little microcosm of life where our family learned so much.
May all the dear ones still there and those who have moved on be blessed. They truly are golden!
A Modern Martyr: Soon to be Beatified Odoardo Focherini
Church to Beatify Father of Seven
What an inspiration! This father of seven died at 37 in a Nazi concentration camp. He teaches us that some things are worth dying for, especially love of neighbor. He is credited with saving 100 Jews from the Nazi killing machine. He makes me think of all the pro-lifers trying to save babies from the Planned Parenthood killing machine -- especially the sidewalk warriors.
Odoardo, please pray for us.

The Vortex: A Clear Explanation of What's Wrong with the BSA "Gay" Policy
Michael Voris is totally on target again! There is no way the BSA can be "neutral" on the gay question now that they have welcomed openly gay scouts into the fold. By so doing they have made it clear that those with same-sex attraction are no different than those whose attractions are ordered by the natural law. That is a lie and all the young men will be learning it either directly if the issue comes up during a meeting or indirectly. If any scout dares to say that gay activity is wrong, he will be seen as bullying.
Silence can be a sin of omission. Children will be learning that, in the face of evil, silence is good and "tolerance" is better. But "tolerance" is not a Christian virtue. More often, it leads to tolerance of evil. Look at our "tolerance" of abortion. How many millions of babies have died under that wicked banner! Send tolerance back to hell where it came from.
The real Christian virtue is hospitality which requires us to be kind, even to our enemies. In fact, the word hospitality has a connotation of a relationship with an enemy. Hospitality and hostile have the same root. Interesting isn't it? Chesterton gets into that very issue in The Ball and the Cross and a popular Chestertonian aphorism is "Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions." The next time someone calls you "intolerant" tell him he's absolutely right and then quote Chesterton to him. Some things are worth fighting over.
Catholic Scouts of St. George Will Be a Reality
If you want to see the progress being made on establishing the Catholic Scouts of St. George visit Taylor Marshall's website.
They've already tentatively picked a logo and a uniform shirt. They are busy working on a manual and they have nearly two thousand folks involved with the group including over 200 Eagle Scouts. But what I liked best reading about the vision was this lovely paragraph:

Please keep praying for the Scouts of Saint George. Just keep imagining the sight of forty boys sitting around the campfire praying the Rosary and singing Marian hymns. We will build this with God's grace. As The Christophers say, "It's better to light one candle than to curse the darkness. Light a prayer candle for the Catholic Scouts of St. George and remember them with Masses and rosaries. They hope to have hundreds of charter groups by September. Do you belong to a troop in a Catholic parish that might move out en masse? Wouldn't that be lovely?

Feast of Charles Lwanga and Companions
These martyrs are role models for all those same-sex attracted souls seeking to live a chaste life. St. Charles and companions, pray for them.
Surprise! Vatican II Was Deliberately Vague & Unclear
Too bad! so sad - only fifty years of deliberate confusion! Does anybody think the dismantlers of the faith didn't intend it and don't want it to continue today? Confusion is a mark of the evil one. Whenever you see it, sniff around for the sulfur.
Another Woman Dies from her "Safe, Legal Abortion"
And you believed Planned Parenthood's lies about Kermit Gosnell being an aberration!

Feast of Corpus Christi: "Unless you do eat the flesh of the Son of Man...
...and drink his blood, you have no life within you." John 6:53
What a great day to read and meditate on the gospel of St. John, chapter 6. Anyone who reads this chapter with prayerful attention can never again talk about he Eucharist as a "symbol." Jesus makes it very clear that He is talking about the bread of the Eucharist becoming His REAL flesh and blood. "For my flesh is real food and my blood real drink."
Some people accuse Catholics of cannibalism, but cannibals eat their own species and the flesh and blood they eat and drink becomes part of their bodies.
It is not so with the Eucharist.
At the direction of God Himself, we eat the Body and Blood of Christ. But unlike regular food which becomes part of our bodies, the Eucharist makes us part of His Body. The "Body of Christ," as the people of God, is never more graphically illustrated than at Mass after Communion. All of those partaking of the Eucharist are one in Christ's body. Our hearts beat as one and we worship as one in Christ. Which is why our Sunday obligation is so important. We cannot be "one body" in the Church if we do not become one in Christ through the unity of the Eucharist. Read about the history of the Feast of Corpus Christi here.
Anima ChristiSoul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Chirst, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from thee.
From the malicious enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me and bid me come unto thee,
