Shocking Murder in Indianapolis Brings Support for Mom & Unborn Babe

Nathan & Jennifer Trapuzanno on their wedding day last year
Over $100k raised for family of slain Catholic husband, father

The baby's name is Cecelia who is also the patron saint of music. And the outpouring of love following the senseless murder of Cecelia's daddy in Indianapolis must certainly bring music, even if sad, to the hearts of those who love him. Nathan Trapuzanno's suffering and that of his young wife and tiny infant daughter may very well save the souls of his murderers. Let us pray for that. And if you have the means, please donate to this lovely Catholic widow. It is inspirational to read that the night before their wedding they asked the priest witnessing their marriage to hear the Confessions of the wedding party. May the Divine Assistance be always with us and may the souls of the faithful departed, especially Nathan, rest in peace.

Sunday Meditation: Keep the Sabbath Holy

I often reflect on how to keep the Lord's Day? We generally don't shop, but will stop at Sheetz for gas and the paper. The mall is a big no-no, but we occasionally go to a restaurant. We avoid laundry and yard work except sometimes a little fun gardening which seems like a hobby to me and not work

In the old days of "Blue Laws" it was easy to keep the Lord's Day holy because everything was closed. If you didn't pick it up on Saturday, you did without until Monday.

But what exactly does it mean to avoid servile work in our modern day?

Go here to see what we did today on Sunday. What do you think? Is that servile work? And what activities do you avoid on Sunday? What activities do you try to foster?

How do you keep Sunday holy? What do you ordinarily do on your "day of rest."

If you want to be happy for the rest of your life....

Have babies! Got this off Fr. Z's blog and I absolutely love it! Baby is happy and so is Mom. And this, friends, is early home schooling!

Jim Moran Is In the News Again...

...whining that congressmen aren't paid enough. (Hear the fiddles?) Michelle Malkin gives us a flashback of this "corruptocrat's" political history here.

I know Jim well. He was my congressman when I lived in Alexandria and I picketed his events often, mostly over his pro-abortion positions. Once at the Torpedo Factory (now a pricey shoppers' venue) he went around to a back door to avoid us. Well, heck, why not? All those dangerous ladies in skirts out front with signs?  He loves women, can't have press photos with young women (I was one once.) opposing him. That was during the Clinton administration and a picketing friend and I were talking about his plan to resign his commission in the Navy (He was a Captain.) over Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

Another Victim of the Homo-Fascists

Omigosh, the CEO gave $1,000 to the initiative to defend traditional marriage. What a monster! And they call us intolerant? Talk about the "Inquisition" and the "Crusades" squared! The hypocrisy is breathtaking!

Another Good Bishop Supports Canon 915

Thank you, Bishop Paprocki, for supporting Canon 915 and the parish priest who implemented it against Sen. Dick Durbin. It's an act of charity to keep a person from compounding one mortal sin with regular mortal sins of sacrilege. Pray for Sen. Durbin's conversion. "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul in the process?" Politics is just not worth it!

The Muddled Thinking of Our Catholic School Students

It had to happen. The secular world feeds lies and distortions to our kids by the bucketful: films, videos, TV sitcoms, song lyrics, dirty dancing with the stars, violent and sexually depraved video games, easily available internet and print pornography. Good grief, you can't pass the check out at the grocery or pharmacy without blinders!

Are parents teaching their children the real faith?
So the situation in Charlotte over a nun discussing sexual issues including homosexuality has taken on a life of its own. (Perhaps nightmare would be more accurate.) The Charlotte Observer is covering the flap. So is LifeSiteNews (LSN). Here's the basic content of the student petition condemning the talk which is now closed. Interestingly, the petition can no longer even be read on the petition website. Here's what LSN reported as its content. I've highlighted several spots in red with my comments in blue:
“We the students of Charlotte Catholic High School would like to issue a formal complaint regarding Sr. Jane Dominic’s speech given on on [sic] Friday, March 21st,” the petition begins.

The Randy Weaver Case Revisited: Why Gerry Spence Defended Randy

I had a comment on a past blog post which included the government massacre at Ruby Ridge where Vicki Weaver was murdered by a sniper and the Weaver's young son, Sam (14), was shot in the back running back to the cabin after agents killed his dog. (Self defense, right?) While I was responding, I found a letter by the lawyer who defended Weaver at his trial written to a friend who objected to him taking the case. It makes for gripping reading.

The Weavers' racist views in some people's minds (My nasty anonymous writer for one.) seems to justify the cold-blooded murder carried out by the Federal Government. It's the same rationale that led to the mass murder of the Branch Davidians. Well folks, exactly what views do you hold that the government doesn't like? I know what mine are. I'm pro-life, I support the second amendment, I'm Christian. All these things make me dangerous to a godless, secular culture that has called me a "domestic terrorist" even though I have never committed a violent act in my life. (Well, in the interests of full disclosure and transparency, I did occasionally have hair pulling fights with my sisters when we were kids. I couldn't compete in the scratching matches, though, because I bit my fingernails.)

Read the excerpt that's linked below and weep for our lost freedoms. And pray for a return to the godly principles on which this country was founded.
