The Negative Power of Silence! "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is Still the Unwritten Seminary Rule!

I recently read Cardinal Sarah's book, The Power of Silence. I took it with me on my annual 5-day silent retreat where it became my go-to spiritual reading between meditations on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. What a powerful companion on the journey! Silence with the Lord nurtures rich spiritual fruit.

But there's another side to silence.

Today, I read an article about that flip side. Think of St. Thomas More and his silence about Henry's "marriage" to Ann Boleyn. In A Man for All Seasons, Cranmer accuses More of a silence that speaks treason against the king. The saint responds vigorously with the legal principle that silence implies consent. On the other hand, some legal scholars say that silence means consent only when the person involved has an obligation to speak. Since More had relinquished his role as chancellor, he had no obligation to embrace martyrdom by publicly denouncing the king's marriage. Only when circumstances forced him (the devil always demands approval for evil) did More speak.

Topsy and Tuptim Discuss the Synod's "New Signs" and "New Flesh" over Lunch

Tuptim: What a great idea to stop at the Wood Grill before going home from your eye exam.

They sit down and order their drinks then go to the various food stations.

Topsy: I enjoy this place a lot. Most buffets are low quality but everything here is so fresh. I always have a hard time choosing from the wide variety.

Tuptim: (Laughing...) Yeah, it makes me think of "diversity," another one of those buzz words. I wonder if they practice integral ecology where they grow all the veggies. And we can celebrate all the cultures here because they have Mexican food, American, Chinese, Greek, Thai, you name it!

Fr. Tom Collins: Bishops provided a "safe environment" for sexual predators!

Msgr. Rossi, protege of Cardinal Wuerl
Editor's comment: I doubt if we've seen the end of the sex scandals. Msgr. Walter Rossi, rector of the Basilica Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, is likely to be among the next group of outed homosexuals keeping their boyfriends in comfort using the assets donated for the care of the Church. Check out the American Spectator here, here, and here.

Abuse of minors is horrendous, but pederasty isn't the only problem. Homosexual priests engaging in "age appropriate" sodomy often, like Bransfield, consider the assets of the Church their personal property and help themselves to the proceeds to fund their extravagant lifestyles. The next big scandal as the Bransfield financial raping of West Virginia indicates, will likely be all about money. Stay tuned and pray hard.

Topsy and Tuptim Start Part 3 of the Synod Working Document at the Opthalmologist's Office

Topsy and Tuptim sit in the opthalmologist's waiting room.

Topsy: Thanks for driving me. I have a terrible time seeing when they dilate my pupils. All this studying the document has done a number on my eyes. Last night while I was reading Part 3 everything went blurry. Thank God I was almost finished. I just needed to review a few footnotes from the last chapter. But the page looked like the Russian alphabet. I think I probably need a stronger prescription.

Tuptim: (Sarcastically...) Gosh, do you think the Russians are colluding in the synod and conspired to make your eyesight deteriorate so we couldn't finish critiquing the working doc?

Topsy: (Laughing...) No... it was the Germans in collusion with the South American liberation theology gurus.

It's "High Noon." Will You Stand to Protect Our Beloved Church against the Synod from Hell?

The prophet Zachariah was
stoned for condemning the
 king and the people's
rebellion against God.
Sometimes it's helpful to have a list of resources together in one place. So I've listed a number of articles on the upcoming synod from hell. I've linked to many of the articles below in the Topsy and Tuptim posts about the Pan-Amazon synod, but some are new.

As we face this latest tsunami barelling down on the Church during the October hurricane season, we need soldiers of Christ committed to the truth to stand up to the liars and Church wreckers. Many wear roman collars, but their hearts wear pagan new age amulets and their minds are steeped in pagan liberation theology. (I deleted the word "pagan" because many pagan's were godly people who valued truth and goodness and lived virtuous lives, like Socrates. It's an insult to pagans to lump them in with these liars and Church wreckers.)

As one writer said, we are facing "High Noon" in the Church. In the film the sheriff, played by Gary Cooper, meets an incoming train arriving at noon filled with a gang of outlaws planning to take over the town. The other townsmen run for cover refusing to stand with the sheriff to protect their loved ones and their community. So Cooper faces them alone. Sound familiar? How few men in miters stand against the outlaws attacking our beloved Church and gobbling up the faith of the sheep? How few are willing to imitate Jesus or even the Old Testament prophets who chose God's law over man's lawlessness. May God have mercy on them come Judgment Day!

Topsy and Tuptim Discuss the Synod Doc as a Propaganda Piece Outside the Washington Post

Washington Post building on K Street
Tuptim: It's kind of appropriate that we're sitting at an outside cafe near the Washington Post building. I always call it Pravda East! Did you know that K St. is a big center for lobbyists?

Topsy: Really?

Tuptim: Yup! When Mitt Romney was running for president, he called K Street the center of "influence peddling." What better place to talk about the Amazon synod. Influence peddling... that's what it's all about -- peddling the influence of the (making quote sign with her fingers) "progressive" wing of the Church.

Topsy: (Rollling her eyes...) Hmm...You mean the heretic wing!

Why I'm Not Contributing to the Topsy and Tuptim Posts: the Instrumentum Laboris Has Driven Me Crazy

Going indigenous means no tan lines.
FYI - Mary Ann is Topsy and I'm Tuptim (T&T) and it used to be that I'd contribute a bit in writing the T&T posts. I had spoken to Mary Ann and we agreed that I'd also read the Pan-Amazon Synod Instrumentum Laboris and send her my remarks however it didn't turn out that way. As I finished Part I, Chapter 2, she was far ahead with Chapter 4 already posted. I just couldn't keep up with her.

But another thing happened - a very weird thing where I couldn't control my mind. Instead of being upset at what the document was telling me, my mind kept showing me hilarious images of what was leaping from the page into it, preparing me to "go indigenous". Cast off all the shackles and "go native", free at last. Playalinda Beach here I come!

Have Hope: There is a Jesuit Who STILL BELIEVES the Teachings of the Church!

Fr. Isaac Jogues worked among the Hurons. He and St.
Jean de Brebeuf were captured in an Iriquois raid
and martyred. Fr. Jean was brutally tortured.
There don't seem to be many Jesuits who still embrace the faith judging from Jesuit colleges with their pride events, V-monologues, censored crucifixes, etc. Happily, I seem to have found the proverbial needle in the haystack (Yes, he's sharp!) with Fr Robert McTeigue. If you can take his writing as a guide, he is, indeed, a truth teller amongst liars. He promotes confession, pro-life work, modesty, etc.

But it's his recent article at Catholic World Report on the Amazon synod that caught my eye. After referencing the story about the mission that celebrates not baptizing a single soul in over 50 years, he talks about missionary martyrs of the past. St. Francis Xavier, St. Isaac Jogues, St. Jean de Brebeuf... they all devoted themselves to bringing the good news to those living (literally) in physical and spiritual darkness. When one compares those Jesuits' zeal and willingness to give their lives for the ransom of many, one can only mourn at the collapse of faith among some modern so-called missionaries.

Guest Post - Handing on the Faith to a New Generation: You Can't Give What You Haven't Got!

We can only bring others to Jesus
if we have a personal relationship
with Him ourselves.
HANDING ON TO A NEW GENERATION

by James M. Thunder*

Last month I listened to a parish Director of Youth Ministry describe a sociological study documenting how so many young Catholics think of our Faith as a set of propositions without a personal relationship with God Who is the subject of the propositions. Then I watched World Over Live broadcast a videoclip of Bishop Robert J. Baker of Birmingham at the June meeting of the American bishops (the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), request that the words, the Name, Jesus Christ, appear at least once in one of the USCCB documents that was then under review.

These two events prompted me to think of the time I heard a priest say that St. Paul had such a deep relationship with Jesus that there are passages in his epistles where he uses the Name over and over again. When his letters are read at Mass, I’ll sit up and notice, for example, that St. Paul writes the Name five times in the opening eight verses of his Letter to the Romans, and eight times in the opening 10 verses in his First Letter to the Corinthians.

Being Indigenous in the Lost Church of Z

Vatican Religious Articles Store
"Ancestral medicine"? My mother would be happy to know that Pope Francis' Synod on the Amazon will focus on that. When I'd visit when the children were mere infants and they would not sleep my mother would "fix" a bottle for them with a drop or two of moonshine (no, really...this was the mountains in NC). It worked. So happy to know this "ancestral tradition" will be approved and I'll be able to pass it on to future generations. Gotta crank that still up! Thanx PF!

"Neo-colonialism" in the present is being done by Islam, especially in Europe. While the synod frowns on "colonialism of the past and neo-colonialism of the present", Pope Francis approves colonization by Islam into Christendom, heartily encouraging more and more Muslim immigration into Europe. Therefore it's clear that he thinks the only bad type of colonialism is that which was done by the Church in the past. What must he think of Our Lady of Guadalupe?

Topsy and Tuptim Slog Through Part 2 of the Amazon Document with its Community Organizing Focus

Topsy and Tuptim meet at the Christmas in July 5K and Fun Run to support their children and grandchildren who are participating. They stage their chairs near the finish line then get iced coffee and muffins at the snack bar.

Good News: Fr. Duesterhaus Cleared. (About time!) Please keep praying for Fr. Ron Escalante!

Editor's Note: Releasing a brief press notice announcing the exoneration is easier to do than to restore the good name of a priest held up to public contempt for month. Accused priests are treated as guilty until proven innocent. How many Catholics know about the accusations? How many fewer know about the exoneration. How will you restore Father's reputation, Bishop Burbidge?

Diocesan Review Board concludes Father Michael Duesterhaus
not credibly accused of child sexual abuse

July 24, 2019

Since March 14, 2018, the Diocese of Arlington has provided announcements and updates regarding allegations of child sexual abuse and other inappropriate conduct against Father Michael Duesterhaus. Father Duesterhaus was placed on administrative leave pending investigations conducted by local law enforcement agencies and the Diocese of Arlington.

Taking Sides, The Duty We Cannot Avoid

“Refusing to take sides on great moral issues is itself a decision.  It is a silent acquiescence to evil.  The tragedy of our time is that those who still believe in honesty lack fire and conviction, while those who believe in dishonesty are full of passionate conviction.”

Venerable Fulton J. Sheen

What are the “great moral issues” we face today?

Phil Lawler Asks: Why Bishop Mark Brennan to Replace Bransfield?

In West Virginia, another bewildering Vatican appointment

Here's Lawler's recap from the article. I highlighted some things I thought were especially a propos and added some comments of my own:
So to recap:

Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers? Never! Can Vinegar Pass Muster as Honey?

I love Mr. Rogers. He was the real deal, a joyful culture warrior who used his show to bring up issues not normally discussed with children: death, racism, assassination, divorce. He loved and respected the little ones and they knew it. But not only children... every person he met felt valued in his presence.

His messages, no matter how serious, were never heavy handed. When debates occurred over integrating swimming pools, he did a show where he shared a wading pool and a towel with the black police officer in the neighborhood. When one of the actors on the show was found visiting a gay hangout, he let him know he couldn't do that and continue to be part of the neighborhood, but didn't fire him in outrage. The actor later said Fred Rogers felt like the dad he never had growing up. Did he change his behavior? I don't know, but I'm sure Rogers prayed for him.

Extra! Extra! New Bishop for West Virginia: Most Rev. Mark E. Brennan

Baltimore Auxiliary Bishop Mark E. Brennan has been named by Pope Francis to head up the
Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. Can anything good come out of Baltimore? Let's hope so. Let's pray so.

Short bio of Bishop Brennan here.

Stay tuned.

UPDATE 7/23: I received this email today from a friend in West Virginia commenting on Bishop Brennan's background. What do you think?

ABOMINATION before the Lord

This is an ABOMINATION before the Lord.
A transgender man who was born a woman but identifies as a man, becomes pregnant, gives birth, and fights in the court system to be named as the child's father instead of mother on the birth certificate, is an ABOMINATION BEFORE THE LORD.

Only the most corrupt, evil and wicked God-hating atheists would champion this damnable situation born in hell from the mind of Satan.

Yet this demonic behavior - at the expense of an innocent child, to be raised by such foul degenerate parents thereby becoming corrupted itself - is considered normal behavior by the Left.

How long before the lord wipes out this abomination so He no longer has to look at such depraved behavior from those whom He created?

Reading Part 2 of the Amazon Doc: Topsy and Tuptim Bewail Bureaucrat Bishops who Act Like Politicians

The crypt church at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Topsy and Tuptim attend noon Mass in the crypt Church at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in D.C. It's the feast day of St. Mary Magdalene and after Mass they pray the rosary together asking St. Mary to intercede for the protection of Holy Mother Church. Finishing their prayers, they go out into the lower lobby and visit the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes to light candles, they continue conversing as they walk over to the shrine cafeteria, get lunch, and select a table.

Tuptim: Things are in such a mess. We sure need the help of Our Blessed Mother to clean things up and give us bishops who are real shepherds who will protect the family of the Church!

Sunday Meditation: In a world where many will not come to Christ, let us take Him to the world.

Come and kneel before Him now! May this idea grow and may Jesus be seen in all the plazas and marketplaces of the entire world! Holy God, we praise Thy Name!

Topsy and Tuptim Take Time Out to Examine the Amazon Synod Team and its Game Plan

Topsy and Tuptim meet in the bleachers at the local high school to watch Topsy's grandson try out for the football team.

Topsy: (Giving the football time out sign...) I think this is a good place to talk about the team planning the Amazon Synod. If you ask me, the synod was designed to be a game-changer and the players aren't even hiding it any more. Let's pause for some background. I've been thinking about the "coaches" on the synod and their "playbook." With my suspicious mind I'm going to make some observations.

Tuptim: I have some too. Why don't you start.

Apostolic Nuncio Releases Communique on Bransfield

Will predator Bishop Bransfield land on four feet like the proverbial cat with nine lives?

Well, the latest is out on former bishop Michael Bransfield. Will it mean anything?

Is Poland the Next Target?

Poland's 2017 rosary crusade, encircled the nation in prayer.
Our Lady of the Rosary, protect Poland from the prowling demons seeking to destroy her!

We watched the radical, death-dealing left  (along with many unfaithful, cowardly clergy) destroy Ireland.

Topsy and Tuptim Read Part 2 Chapter 1 of the Instrumentum Laboris and Plan to Send Pope Francis a Chicken Little Hat.

Add caption
The library meeting room has nothing scheduled so Topsy and Tuptim spread out and make themselves comfortable at the conference table. Tuptim disappears and comes back with two steaming cups of coffee.

Tuptim: I volunteer here so I have coffee privileges. The gal who does the coffee actually buys a good brand of Columbian dark roast. You'll like it.

Topsy: (smiling) Even if I do ruin it with cream?

Tuptim: (shrugs, sits, and turns to Part II of the document.) I had to shake my head when I looked at the Table of Contents for Part 2 and saw how long it is -- NINE CHAPTERS! That's more than twice as long as Part 1. And then there's Part 3. This thing isn't a sprint; it's a marathon!

Topsy and Tuptim Meet at Chik-Fil-A to "Dialogue" on Chapter 4's "New Paths to Dialogue"

Synod Dialogue!
Topsy and Tuptim meet in the Chik-Fil-A parking lot and walk toward the building together.

Tuptim: Wow! It's great to see you again, Topsy. I missed you. How was the reunion?

Topsy: (laughing) I was only gone five days. The reunion was great! I met some of my husband's relatives for the first time and what a testimony to family! There must have been 200 people there! We were celebrating the reconnection with a young man given up for adoption 53 years ago! It meant a lot to me because my own mom was adopted and we never knew anything about her family. Those were the days when adoptions were closed. Maybe someday one of these DNA ancestry groups will bring a re-connection to my mom's family of origin. That would be exciting!

(They enter the building.)

"Chucky Bebes Muertos" is my neighbor but needs to "get with the program"

"Chucky Bebes Muertos", most vicious MS-13
gang member, is my neighbor.

The following is my response to our deacon's Good Samaritan homily, June 14, 2019, Gospel of Luke 10:25-37.

Dear Deacon,

Yesterday I was face to face with a man looking very much as if he were a member of MS-13. He had tattoos all over his body, especially his neck, head and face. I had seen this man before and once jokingly asked a co-worker if she had asked him if he were a member of MS-13. Of course one would never ask such a thing for fear of being eliminated on the spot.

Since we're supposed to treat all people with respect I just did my daily duty. When I looked up and saw him standing there I thought...uh oh...then interacted with him as if he were sort of...er...normal. At least he was honest in PAYING for something, not stealing it...like they do in Miami, lifting up their shirt to show a gun in their belt when asked to see a receipt.

Soccer! Soccer!! Soccer!!!

Years ago when our son was about ten, he told me he was going to Doug’s to play.  I said, “OK.”  It wasn’t fifteen minutes later I found him sitting in our family room playing quietly by himself.  I said, “I thought you were going to Doug’s to play?”  He said, “I did, but all they want to do is play soccer, soccer, soccer, and I hate soccer!”  Well put by an avid baseball player who just didn’t get the fascination with a game that appears to be a lot of running around for nothing.

I must confess up front, I have zero aptitude for sports.  I absolutely hated physical education in school because I was so bad at EVERYTHING except for folk dancing which we devoted six weeks to in middle school.  I wasn’t even good at jumping rope.  I was always among the first to be eliminated in dodge ball.  Jacks and Chinese checkers are more my style.  Any ball bigger than that and I’m a complete failure.

Vatican City State: The Sanctuary City for Criminal Clerics

How many sexual predators rest safely
under the Pope Francis sanctuary umbrella?
You remember when Cardinal Law fled the states as things got hotter over the sex abuse scandal. He ended up as pastor of a Church in Rome where he died in 2017. The Vatican welcomes many scandal-ridden clerics, so much so that William Kilpatrick wrote this recently:
Thanks to Pope Francis, the Vatican now joins the growing list of the world’s sanctuary cities. If you’re a clergyman wanted by civil authorities or Church authorities in your native land, the Vatican will offer you a safe haven and, quite possibly, a cushy job. (See Corruption in the Church)
Some of those under the Francis umbrella of safety are serial sex predators. But not to worry. We know that Francis really, Really, REALLY cares about the victims of sex abuse.

Green Agenda - The Real Reason St Peter's Bones Were Given to the Eastern Orthodox

In her book RELICS Joan Carroll Cruz writes that the bones of St Peter, Prince of the Apostles, lie under the altar of St Peter's Basilica. In 1968 his bones "were examined geologically and anatomically and were found to have been the bones of a large man who lived in the first century." Additionally, St Peter's feet are missing. Since he was crucified upside down, the soldiers, to make it easier to remove the body from the cross, hacked off St Peter's feet instead of removing the nails.

Nine of St Peter's bones from his 2,000 year-old grave were put in a reliquary and kept in the Chapel of the Apostolic Palace. It was this reliquary, containing those nine bones, that Pope Francis took on June 29th, the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, and gave to Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople - or as it is called today by its Islamic name, Istanbul.

White Doves In the Most Special Places

I mentioned previously on this blog that there were three things that made strong and lasting impressions on me during our pilgrimage in May to Italy.  I have written about two of them in other posts.  The first was the answer to prayer after our group prayed an emergency novena to Our Lady when our bus was completely unable to proceed to our destination.  Secondly, I have written about the awesome experience of celebrating mass in front of the famous corporal stained with the blood of Christ which may in all likelihood have been the inspiration of the Feast of Corpus Christi we celebrate each year.

Wherein Topsy and Tuptim discuss Chapter 3 of the Synod Working Document and Expose the Dissenting Bishop Behind It

Bishop Erwin Kräutler, primary
author of synod working doc.
It's such a beautiful afternoon that Tupsy and Tuptim meet at the pool with some of their grandchildren and stake out a picnic table under the trees to study chapter 3 of  the Instrumentum Laboris for the Amazon synod. Topsy opens her cooler and takes out water bottles, a plastic container filled with apple slices, and a big bag of chips. She puts them them at the end of the table. And piles a stack of towels on the bench.

Topsy: The kids will be running back and forth for snacks. This will make it easy for them while we study the document. I decided not to bring any of the little ones so we wouldn't have to worry about doing lifeguard duty.

Tuptim: Great day to be outside. Not too hot and not too humid. (Looking up) Thanks, Lord!

Topsy: Amen to that! Oh...before we start I've been doing some research on the bishop behind the working document. It's always helpful to know the players. Do you remember the controversy over Always Our Children here in the U.S. about homosexuality?

Don't Defend Reality in Scotland Schools: Big Brother is the Principal!

Murray, a high school student in Scotland, was expelled for defending the biological, scientific reality that there are only two "genders" (The proper word is "sexes"), male and female. No diversity of thought in Scotland is allowed obviously if it disagrees with a politically correct fantasy. Murray is guilty of "crimethink" and must be punished. What's next? the face cage with the rats inside? Big Brother clearly runs the show in Scotland with the help of his minions like this teacher.

For an update, visit LifeSiteNews.

Pray for Murray and all the students in Scotland who are clearly prisoners in a reeducation camp intent on forcing them to embrace politically correct lies. This, friends, is the death of reason! "Whom the gods would destroy, they first make crazy."

Our Lady, help of Christians, pray for us.

Are Malaria-Carrying Mosquitoes Beautiful? Topsy and Tuptim Study Chapter 2 of the Instrumentum Laboris

The Congo peacock is nothing like its beautiful
cousins, the green and Indian peacocks.
Tuptim: (Knocks at Topsy's kitchen door and comes in). Hey, Topsy. (Holds up a bottle of merlot.) Since we're meeting in the afternoon I brought some red wine. I thought we could use something a little stronger than coffee to get through Chapter 2.

Topsy: (putting a plate of crackers and cream cheese covered with chutney on the table.) Good call! I'll get the glasses. (She reaches in the cupboard and brings out two wine glasses. One has a gold peacock on it and the other has a pink chateau.) I love to pick up a glass when we go to a vineyard. Individual glasses are better than wine charms. Here, you can be the peacock.

Tuptim: (admires her glass) Do you think they have peacocks in the Amazon?

"Life, Territory, Time and Dialogue": Topsy and Tuptim Discuss Chapter I of the Amazon Working Doc

The Amazon River Basin
Tuptim welcomes Topsy who settles in at the kitchen table with her notebook and highlighted copy of the working document. Tuptim sets a steaming cup of coffee in front of her friend with a little pitcher of cream.

Tuptim: I never understand why you want to ruin a good cup of coffee by putting in cream!

Topsy: (smiling) Hey, I like it that way. Different strokes for different folks. (Takes a sip.) Mmm, this is good.

Tuptim: It's fair trade coffee from the Amazon basin of South America. I thought that would put us in the mood for talking about the synod document. (She sits at the table and flips over a page on her stapled copy of the document.) I got this off the Vatican website. I love having access to all encyclicals, exhortations, etc. (pauses) So... what did you think about chapter 1?

Topsy and Tuptim Read the Working Document for the Pan-Amazon Synod: Introduction

Yes, there really are purple frogs!
Topsy and Tuptim meet at a local vineyard with notebooks, highlighters, and pens at the ready to study the Instrumentum Laboris for the Pan-Amazon Synod. Topsy orders a bottle of merlot at the counter and a plate of cheese and crackers and carries them to the table.

Topsy: Since you're a red wine girl you should enjoy this merlot and aren't the glasses cute with the purple toad? I wonder if they have purple toads in the Amazon?

Tuptim: Funny you should say that. I've been studying up on the rain forest since I heard about the synod. They have all kinds of incredible species including poison dart frogs. I think the synod will bring its own version of poison to the faith and the poor people of the Amazon. (Rolling her eyes) After all, God wills different religions, even paganism presumably. But maybe I'm just being a pessimist. Let's take a look at the doc and see.

What's Really Going on with the Pan-Amazon Synod?

Bishop Overbeck
In view of the experience with previous synods under this papacy along with the documents released on the environment, marriage, and youth, it really isn't too hard to figure out what the Pan-Amazon synod is all about. Let me spell it out for you.

Pope Francis and his circle want to transform the Catholic faith by undermining her doctrine and changing the practice among the faithful to conform the Church to the world. Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck let the cat out of the bag at a private preparatory meeting when he said post synod we will have reached "a point of no return" after which "nothing will be the same as it was."

Really? The Judases in the Church are nothing if not arrogant. These little tinpot gods, like Herod, believe they can destroy the King.

Another Day, Another Synod, Another Opportunity to Attack the Faith of Our Fathers

Will the Pan-Amazon Synod October October  6-27 lead the Church to "a point of no return?"

I just started reading the working document for the latest synod. At 45,000 words it is not a job for
the timid. Frankly, I'd rather go to the dentist, but I think we all need to know what the pope and his minions are up to. The synods on youth and the family did not advance or defend the faith at all. Vatican correspondent Edward Pentin pointed out some "areas of concern" from the youth document including ambiguous language about homosexuality, the role of women in the Church, and the sex abuse crisis. The two synods on the family created more ambiguity and revealed, according to George Weigel:

From the GOOD GRIEF! Gay Food File

Deep six those oreos!
Too many bad connotations.
You know the old expression about ramming something down a person's throat? Well it's happening literally these days with some food companies who prefer to put their political agenda ahead of corporate well-being.

I could never eat any of these things listed below now that they've been associated with the homosexual agenda that includes all kinds of perverted practices. What would you be thinking as you eat that dark brown oreo or swallow that yellow beer?

Hmmm?

As for Fruit Loops? Well, they should add nuts to the recipe so the fruits and nuts can all be in the same place!

Here are some foods to skip next time you go to the grocery store.
Oreos and other Nabisco products -- Really? Oreos is pushing gender fluid pronouns by giving free cookies to teachers willing to brainwash kids? (I'm taking all Nabisco products off my list!)

This story from Andy Ngo is just one example of the tactics of Antifa. Consider how the media spun the Charlottesville debacle presenting these thugs as the good guys and how they attacked President Trump for saying both sides were responsible for the violence. Will Antifa be coming to a town near you condemning fascism with their chants of "No hate, no frear!" while they demonstrate fascist tactics on their opponents? Note the weapons they carry in the video. Ask yourself who's financing these anarchists? And what is the ultimate goal? The destruction of America! When this country collapses and the protection of true freedom disappears, where in the world will you hide? Keep in mind that the same thing happened in Portland that happened in Charlottesville. Police were ordered to "stand down" by a political liberal allowing the violence to escalate without hindrance. The mayor of Portland said he didn't tell police to stand down. The police association says he did. (Check here as well.) Whom do you believe? Isn't it time to hold these liberal liars (Sorry for being redundant) accountable?

Leftist Mob Attacked Me in Portland

I have been targeted by Antifa and its allies for my critical reporting of their violent extremism

By Andy Ngo    July 2, 2019 7:22 pm ET   The Wall Street Journal, at:  https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-leftist-mob-attacked-me-in-portland-11562109768

Quo Vadis? I Thought Headlines of Pope Francis Giving Away the Bones of St. Peter was a Satire Piece from the Babylon Bee...

...but it's all too real. Quo vadis, Kephas? To Constantinople to a Church not in union with Rome that rejects the papacy.

Think about it. Francis, the successor of St. Peter (If he is!), thinks so little of the papacy that he gives away precious relics of the first pope to the representatives of a Church that is in schism over the issue of papal authority.

Please tell me this is a nightmare. Pope Paul VI kept the relics in his private chapel to venerate St. Peter and perhaps to remind himself of what it means to give your life for the Church to the point of shedding your blood. LifeSiteNews reported:
The archbishop said that after the two prayed together at St. Peter’s tomb, the Pope told him he had a “gift for the Church of Constantinople.” The Pope invited the archbishop to accompany him to the Apostolic Palace. There, in the private chapel of the popes, Francis took the reliquary and gave it to Archbishop Job.

Guest Post: Be a Friend, Make a Friend, Bring a Friend to Christ

St. Andrew brings Peter to Jesus.
Ottavio Vannini, 17th c.
Editor's comment: The priest who prepared my husband and me for marriage and witnessed that blessed event used to tell us, "Be a friend, make a friend, bring a friend to Christ." All of us have many opportunities to witness to the "hope that is in us" through Christ Jesus. Sometimes that witness is verbal and sometimes it's silent. But our witness begins with drawing closer to the Lord. Can you meet Him today at daily Mass? Can you speak to His Mother Mary and honor her through praying the rosary? She faithfully brings every soul who desires it to meet her Son Jesus. No matter what has happened in your life or where you are today, you can "bring a friend to Christ" through your love, kindness, patience, understanding, etc.

Baker of Birmingham at the Junes meeting of the American bishops (the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), request that the words, the Name, Jesus Christ, appear at least once in one of the USCCB documents that was then under review.

Make the Bishops Choose: Would they Rather Fight with the Harpies or the Mother Bears?

If the shepherds won't defend the flock,
the laity must! Mamma bears rising!
How can you tell a good priest/bishop from a bad one? It's not really too complicated. Do they followJesus, His teachings and the teachings of the Church Jesus founded? Or are their beliefs more in line with the prince of this world, the father of lies?

Do they like to express their creativity by embracing every "progressive" and popular perversity inflicted on souls by the world, the flesh, and the devil? There are certainly many among the ranks of the clergy who do, sad to say.

Well, today I'm going to give you a heads up on how to recognize bad clerics.

Well, well, well. Wellwellwell, welllwellwell, well, well...

This is what it takes to make them listen.
And I'm tired of it.
...one small post and Fr Gerry Cunningham was silenced. A huge THANK YOU to our pastor who sent the deacon in to preach the homily. Thankfully, our pastor will return this week.

But why must the laity have to protect itself from such profane masses? Profane homilies? What did these men go to seminary for? Who's teaching them? What are they learning? Who ordains such men to the holy priesthood? And for what purpose?

As far as I can see, the purpose for their ordination is to keep Catholics on their toes making sure that Truth is preached, that Mass is holy - in other words, their purpose as clergy is for Catholics to become, not holy or better people, but to turn us into watchdogs, always on edge waiting for the latest fashionable new (or old) heresy to infect our souls.
