The Democrat Party is the party of death.  Pretty harsh words.  Words that would be vehemently denied by Democrats.  They are nonetheless  true. 

The number of quotes I could mention from prominent Democrats which reveal this is probably endless, but here are a few that come to mind.  The first is from Nancy Pelosi, an unapologetic dissenting Catholic who said,

“I think that, so many times, white — non-college-educated white males have voted Republican. They voted against their own economic interests because of guns, because of gays, and because of God, the three G’s, God being the woman’s right to choose."

Fr. Tom Laments the Pope's Penchant for Apology

I apologize for all that rigid doctrine you learned in seminary.

It is sad that Pope Francis seems to be apologizing to all sorts of heretics and perverts for the Church’s past “sins" of warning them of the dangers of sin and calling them to repentance. But sadly, it seems that no similar apology is to be given to the Eucharistic Christ for the many unrepented sins of sacrilege, blasphemy and indifference, which are compounded so often by those who insist that they have a “right” to receive Him in Holy Communion in a state of objectively grave sin.

I wonder whether the apologies will be expanded to those who “sincerely” and prophetically” wanted to help initiate children into the joys of sexual intimacy.

Our family recently returned from 10 days in Ecuador, a beautiful, clean and safe country. Round trip air fare directly from Ft Lauderdale to Quito is $338.00. Ecuador uses the Dollar so there is no monetary exchange, but the Dollar goes farther in Ecuador than in the US. Voltage is the same so one can charge cell phones and cameras, and use of laptops and IPads is convenient in all of Ecuador with their country wide free Wi-Fi.

That Ecuador is 85% Catholic is obvious. Catholic churches are everywhere (more about those in a few days), rosaries hang from taxi rear view mirrors with Divine Mercy stickers on windshields. Public busses likewise bear testimony to the Catholic Faith with Jesus painted on one side of the front of the bus, the Blessed Mother on the other. However the strongest example of Catholic visibility is the enormous amount of large families, children, pregnant mothers and young couples.

Leaving on Retreat Today: Life is Hard, Treat it with Prayer

My annual five-day silent Ignatian retreat using the Spiritual Exercises begins this evening so I will be pulling the plug on all my gadgets: no phone, no computer, no TV, no social media -- just five blissful days with the Lord and St. Ignatius. It's a great week to go since we celebrate the feasts of St. Peter and Paul and St. Irenaeus, one of the Fathers of the Church. I will be in their spiritual company.

I watched the news last night as the votes came in across Great Britain. By 11 PM I realized that in England most people were asleep and had gone to bed not knowing the outcome of this world changing referendum. Many who wanted to stay in the socialist EU woke up SHOCKED this morning. They had fooled themselves into believing they could demonize people and shame them into taking a position contrary to what they truly believe. Polls on election day indicated that the REMAIN contingent would win but, what the polls didn't take into account was the fact people were intent on following their heartfelt convictions even if they were "politically incorrect."

The new world order globalists are wringing their hands today over Britain leaving the European Union. Maybe nothing will really change, but the vote means government is back in the hands of the people. Let's hope they deserve it.

The vote accords with Catholic teaching on subsidiarity. Should decisions about what happens in Britain be decided by a global elite in Brussels or by the people most impacted by decisions?

The vote also illustrates what's at stake in the upcoming presidential election. I respect many of the people who say they will NEVER vote for Trump, but I strongly disagree with them. The next president will likely name several justices to the Supreme Court as well as dozens or even hundreds to the federal system.

Let's see if I've got this right. Pope Francis said the other day during a Q & A session that the "great part of our sacramental marriages are null.”  On the other hand, he declared himself "sure that cohabitating couples are in a true marriage having the grace of marriage.”

So...to sum up...most of those who marry in the Church aren't really married after all; but those who live together without benefit of marriage are the one's who are really married. Huh? All I can say, is that sure sounds like a modernist Jesuit -- one who is busy as a termite undermining the faith.

The Old Testament is filled with stories of the collective punishment of God's people for the collective sins of the nation. Moses and his band were condemned to wander in the desert for 40 years because of the people's muttering and complaining. Those who were faithful suffered along with the guilty.

Have you seen the bumper sticker, "America, Bless God?" It makes a lot more sense than "God Bless America." In fact, a people honoring and blessing God is often a prerequisite for receiving God's blessings. Read John's letters to the churches in Revelation. "I hold this against you, though: you have turned aside from your early love...I know the reputation you have of being alive, when in fact you are dead!....I know your deeds; I know you are neither hot nor cold." Would Jesus look upon us and praise us saying "I know you hold fast to my name and have not denied the faith you have in me?" as the spirit says about the church in Pergamum? Somehow I doubt it.

I missed this event when it happened in 2009, but it bears telling again. When I read the article it gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes for the loss of those precious innocent ones who remind me of my own grandbabies. Here are the facts from the article:

The crash involved two daughters of a prominent California abortion business owner, Irving "Bud" Feldkamp, and their families. Feldkamp owns the Family Planning Associates abortion business he purchased four years ago....his 17 FPA abortion centers do more abortions in the state of California than Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business. 

Their plane went down on Sunday killing daughters Vanessa and Amy, two of Feldkamp’s sons-in-law, five grandchildren, the pilot and four family friends.

A Poem for All My Little Bird Watchers

Cardinals and sparrows don't share well. 

I was cleaning off my desk today and came across a poem I obviously started when I was recovering from my rotator cuff surgery. How could I tell? Easy. I obviously wrote it with my left hand when I wasn't allowed to move my right arm -- at least the beginning. I apparently added some stanzas later after I could lift my arm and use my right hand again.

I truly enjoy writing little poems for my grandkids. This one is about the birds that come to my feeder. How I love them. We took the feeders down for the summer. We start to attract bears in the late spring and that means they have to go. We don't want any bears near our bee hives! Read more here...

Simple! Child Protective Services (CPS) or the Department of Human Resources (DHR) sees a vulnerable situation with dollar signs all over it. Most social workers have a liberal bias. Parents who are pro-life or home school or follow an alternate vaccination plan are immediately suspect in their eyes. In this case, they don't see a beautiful, brave teenager who chose life rather than abortion. Nope! They see a foolish young teen who is incompetent to care for a baby she should have aborted and for them it's an opportunity to fill the coffers of CPS. And, hey, maybe they can place a highly desired white baby in a same sex household. Dontcha know children are better off with homosexual parents than with their biological mothers and grandparents.

And calls the pope's comment about most sacramental marriages being null "very bad." He also says delaying the sacrament of Baptism is sometimes used by priests to assist the parents toward "improving their ecclesial situation" and that he's never known of a priest to deny the sacrament only because a mother was unwed. Our pope may talk about mercy but his unmerciful actions speak louder than his words.

Once again the pope, in an impromptu comment, throws the faithful for a loop with his confusion and ambiguity. Here's what he said yesterday during a Q & A session:

I heard a bishop say some months ago that he met a boy that had finished his university studies, and said ‘I want to become a priest, but only for 10 years.’ It’s the culture of the provisional. And this happens everywhere, also in priestly life, in religious life,” he said.

Bishop Robert Lynch blames Catholic for Orlando Massacre

Lynch is notorious for his homosexual proclivities, his enabling Terri Schiavo's murder, his suppression of Eucharistic Adoration in his diocese, and his steering millions in diocesan contracts to his buddies. And now he has the audacity to blame Catholics for a Muslim terrorist attack. The man has no shame!

That Lynch is retiring is a blessing, that he should have been removed as a wolf in sheep's clothing is obvious, that he will continue ministering in retirement is probable.

If I were in that diocese I would urge our adult children to keep our grandchildren as far away from him as possible. It appears to me that Lynch illustrates the same attitude toward people that Fields did when he said, "Never give a sucker an even break." To the Florida "shepherd," the people in the pews were just patsies providing him income to pay off lawsuits for homosexual predator priests whose activities he covered up and to keep him living in the style to which he'd become accustomed.

Good-bye, Bishop Lynch. Please have the decency to go quietly into the night where you might consider repenting of all the damage you've done to Holy Mother Church. You've embarrassed us long enough. (N.B. Apologies to W.C. Fields)

dozens were murdered by an Islamic gunman. We all grieve for the senseless killings. But who is grieving for the deliberate killings that go on every day in hospitals and medical centers. Among the worst are those that masquerade as compassion. Here's one case going on right now where a little two-year-old has been targeted for death. If they can't get her for her organs they'll make their diagnosis of brain "death" become a reality. God help us with health providers like these.

Sorry, Chase, but this just makes you look stupid and ridiculous. Muslim countries execute homosexuals. Shooting up a gay club is completely consistent with their beliefs. Christians, on the other hand, follow Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. They "love their enemies and do good to those that hate" them. They also are tolerant except when the intolerant bent on forcing evil on everybody pass laws that target their beliefs. The only person a liberal will tolerate is someone who agrees with him. So keep up the blather because it just illustrates once more that liberals are intolerant nuts!

Collegial Papacy Undermining Primacy of Pope

In the wake of all the turmoil and confusion that has plagued the papacy since Benedict XVI resigned in February 2013, a Vatican Archbishop has inadvertently shed light on the situation, saying there was already a plan in the works to expand the Petrine ministry to something new.

In a revealing speech at a May 20 book launch in Rome, Archbishop Georg Gänswein who serves as prefect of the Pontifical Household reflected on what he saw as a new development of the papacy, and offered comments on Benedict’s resignation. "Before and after his resignation, Pope Benedict has viewed his task as participation in the papal ministry," Gänswein said.

News media quoted the archbishop as saying that Benedict never abandoned the Petrine ministry, but has now "built a personal office with a collegial and synodal dimension, almost a communal ministry." Gänswein explained the reformed papacy, saying there are "not two popes but de facto an expanded ministry, with an active member and a contemplative member."

I stumbled upon a video on YouTube yesterday about a rich Dutch carpenter, Johan Huiber,  who dreamed that Holland was inundated by a flood. It inspired him to build an ark almost single handedly. The first ark he made was a smaller replica, but then he decided to build another according to the biblical dimensions in Genesis. And the plan is to take it to Rio for the Olympics. Here's a video about the project which five men accomplished building it by hand.

A number of people commented on my post about Israel Stinson basically calling me an ignorant know-nothing who doesn't have a clue about the brain death diagnosis. Well, I'm not a doctor or scientist, but I've been present with three people as they were dying when they're hearts stopped, they stopped breathing, and became cold and white. I know what death looks like. More than that, I've lived long enough to see the disrespect for those who are "unwanted" or lack the "quality of life" someone else deems necessary for them to have value. So I wasn't too impressed with those commenting who claim to have the qualifications to know better than Dr. Paul Byrne and other physicians raising serious question about brain death criteria.

One of the issues raised on the post was the use of the apnea test which one man claimed was completely benign. Well, Dr. Byrne says not and so does Dr. John Shea, MD, FRCP who wrote Organ Donation: The Inconvenient Truth which includes this description of the apnea test:

Yet, even though the sex of a child is fixed at the instant of conception through the paired XY (male) or XX (female) twenty third chromosomes, New York City’s mayor Bill de Blasio is furthering the Communist Party's agenda of gender equality with his official recognition of 31 genders of people, 29 (because man and woman are already known genders since the Creation) of which believe they are not what they are at all but only something made up in their disordered minds.

Sunday Meditation: A Lament for Bubble Gum Homilies

One of my frequent laments is what I call bubble-gum homilies (or pabulum from the pulpit). They may appear to give you something to chew on but there's no nourishment and all that chewing is for naught. I thought of that today while I was reading an article in The Wanderer by Deacon James H. Toner on Rocky Homilies. Here's a bit:

Why the tribute to Pope John? Should his “aggiornamento” be rewarded this way?

The Gorilla in the Living Room: Modern Mengeles Advancing Brain Death and Organ Donation

The story about the gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo who aggressively dragged a toddler around his enclosure has inundated social media and the news for days. I can't say I'm surprised that many would have preferred letting the gorilla kill the child rather than allow the sharpshooters to kill the gorilla.

Why? Because there's a much bigger gorilla, King Kong in fact, killing countless helpless victims of all ages, and many of those who should protect the innocent victims are cheering for the gorilla. Two of his victims are toddlers like the little boy at the Cincinnati Zoo: Israel Stinson and Mirranda Lawson.
