I'm always amused by accusations that orthodox Catholics who uphold the teachings of the Church are filled with fear, hatred, homophobia, anger, and are bullies, raging maniacs...well, you get the picture. James Martin, also known as "Father," a Jesuit sadly reflective of the state to which that order has fallen, recently had another talk cancelled. It was due to the "haters" who run nasty, evil, vilifying...well you get the picture... websites and blogs that (sniff, sniff) result in the "censorship" of "progressives" like the good Fr. Martin who is compassionate, kind, sweet, loving...well you get the picture, upholder of all things perverse.

Catholic Judases Essentially Vote to Continue Killing Babies After 20 Weeks!

Yesterday the Senate shut down a vote on the bill to ban murdering babies after 20 weeks (Pain-capable Unborn Child Protection Act). Fourteen Catholic senators who voted to keep the filibuster going were enough to crush the vote. Think of it, those fourteen Catholics had the power to protect babies or keep the holocaust on full throttle, and they used their power to do the devil's work. Most of the Senate was in favor of voting on the bill, but they needed 60 senators to stop the filibuster. Those fourteen Judas Catholics tipped the balance. Now, unless Republican leadership resorts to the "nuclear option," the bill is essentially dead.

And so are babies like this little 20-week-old baby boy if their moms decide they don't want them.

Wanderer reporter, Dexter Duggan, a real journalist, contacted me last week asking for comments on the March for Life. He included some of them in his article. Go here to see what Dexter wrote and please commit to praying for abortion workers. Many of them just need a job and don't really understand the evil reality of abortion and its sordid history. Others are "true believers" in the liberal agenda believing the lies that freedom is in the license to do whatever you please. Actually, the queen of murder, founder of Planned Parenthood Margaret Sanger (Slee), used to say as she aged (ungracefully), "I will do exactly as I please." She was a sad woman indeed who ended her life drug-addicted and nasty as a wet cat. Check out her call for legislation to ban babies. What a woman!

I have just returned from a 12 day road trip with a friend who needed a companion along for the ride to Texas where she had the task of preparing her parent’s home to be sold.  It was also her goal to retrieve some precious treasures still in the house which were too large to be carried on a plane.  One such jewel was a cradle her father had made for his own children, including my friend, and which has now been slept in by most of his grandchildren.  

As we drove along, I read aloud from a tote bag full of books I had selected for the purpose of sharing specific chapters with my friend, a like minded Catholic, thoughtful, very smart, and leaps and bounds ahead of me, a convert, in knowledge of Church history and doctrine. 

Our trip each way took three days in the car so we had a LOT of time to read and discuss and read and discuss.  It was a kind of “retreat from the world” which whizzed by us, as we rolled along from one state to the next, and an opportunity to step outside our daily routines and spend the kind of time you generally only WISH you had with a good friend.

Is it because trouble follows me everywhere or because I make trouble wherever I go? Is it because people are liberal and I am not, therefore when I speak they’re automatically offended? Maybe it’s because grocery store managers tell checkout cashiers to make friendly conversation with customers about the food they’re buying. I don’t know, but it all went terribly wrong tonight, not so much for me – I rather enjoyed the “conversation” – but for the cashier, whom I suppose was just trying to be friendly while making comments about my food.

Now I feel badly! Maybe he wasn’t bragging after all! Maybe he was just following orders: “Be friendly. Talk about the food customers are purchasing. If you like something they’re buying, tell them so. Tell them about your life and places you’ve been where you tasted food like the food they’re buying. Make their shopping experience here at our store memorable.”

Console Your Mother's Heart on the Bloodiest Anniversary in History

Today is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that overthrew EVERY law protecting unborn babies and, in fact, legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy in every state in the union.

In our country alone, clinic abortions have massacred 60 million babies who should be in the safest place on earth, their mommies' wombs. And that doesn't include the babies killed by abortifacients mislabeled as "contraception." The numbers worldwide are staggering. And the problems related to abortion are legion!

In the past 45 years, abortion has devalued the lives of every human person to the point that all the vulnerable are at risk. The abortion lobby promised that out of wedlock births, child abuse, and unwanted pregnancies would be reduced by abortion. The opposite happened. In fact, all those problems increased. Why wouldn't they? If you can kill a child up to birth, why wouldn't you slap around your sassy two-year-old. He's your property after all. Roe v. Wade said so! Studies show that most abused children were "wanted" by their parents.

Pray the rosary today to console the hearts of Jesus and Mary and for the conversion of those committed to the murder of the innocent.

In the Shadow of the Battle Between Life and Death, It is Good to Meditate on Hell

On Friday, the defenders of the most defenseless took to the streets of Washington to witness and give a voice to the babies. "Love Saves Lives!" was their theme and those who spoke illustrated it.

Yesterday, in contrast, the servants of hell in their vagina hats with their pro-abortion signs and their lewd messages took to the streets to champion the mortal sins of murder and lust.

#WhyWeMarch: Reflections on the March for Life 2018

I didn't go to the March for Life yesterday for several reasons, but I watched the rally program on EWTN and have been reviewing commentary and videos.

What an incredible event! And what an incredible crowd! 

For the first time a sitting President addressed the March live and in person even inviting a contingent to be there in the Rose Garden for the event. Surrounded by parents with smiling children and babes in arms, he gave an inspiring talk including saying he would sign the bill banning abortions for pain capable-infants in the womb when Congress puts it on his desk. It isn't enough, but it will save many. Let us all pray and fast that it happens!

Pro-Life Faculty at Notre Dame Address University President Fr. John Jenkins

It's good to know that there are at least a few faculty members at Notre Dame who are challenging the university's abortion/contraception health coverage. Please pray that Fr. Jenkins attendance at the March so touched his heart that he will rescind the evil policy that the administration has put in place that allows the murder of babies, the attack on innocence, and the violation of parental rights. Please, Notre Dame alumni, write to the school and object to their very anti-Catholic behavior. It's hard to understand an ordained priest shaking his fist at God. One wonders what the underlying motivation is: money? power? blackmail? There must be more to the story considering the damage to Notre Dame's reputation by fighting for the exemption as a conscience issue and then immediately doing a 180 and voluntarily instituting the mandate. Doctors urged Pam Tebow to abort her 5th child, Heisman Trophy winner Tim. She refused. Today she addresses the hundreds of thousands attending the March for Life. Tonight she addresses attendees at the Rose Dinner. Pray for her and her family and all those marching for life today. The pro-aborts would prefer that Tim never saw the light of day.

I've been reading the encyclicals of Pope Pius XI. He reigned from February 1922 to February 1939 between the two world wars. It was a time of both moral and political upheaval. In his book, Vicars of Christ, Charles Coulombe describes the problems faced by the new pope who was elected on the 14th ballot of the conclave:

[Pope Pius XI] faced a number of enormous problems brought about by the course of World War I; for the first time since Constantine, there were no Christian emperors -- indeed, there was no great power at all with a professedly Christian outlook. This is the same Fr. Jenkins who made a point of crucifying pro-lifers who protested Notre Dame honoring Obama.  And if that doesn't make his presence the hypocrisy of the year, he is also responsible for making sure that faculty and students can kill babies in the womb with abortifacient birth control provided in the school's health plan.

Do married priests include same-sex married men since same-sex marriage is now legal? In other words, how would they be able to say that the married priesthood is only for men married to women thereby discriminating against men married to men? Or, if women become priests, women married to women?

Pet Peeve for the Day: Political Correctness

I hate political correctness. I particularly hate political correctness when it invades the sanctuary. This morning at Mass my eyes kept going to the Mass booklets in the pew in front of me where they feature a large top headline IN SPANISH with the English underneath. Can English not even get top billing in our English-speaking country? Does anyone really think that if they have Mass booklets in Mexico (Anybody know?) they would list English first? Would they even include English? How many Americans are invading Mexico seeking sanctuary cities?

Then I came home and sat at my computer where I looked at the Catholic calendar distributed by the parish. You got it -- bilingual with all the months of the year and days of the week in Spanish first and all the feasts and solemnities, etc. in both languages each day in print so small it's unreadable. I took the calendar off the desk and threw it in the circular file. Then I looked through all the 2018 calendars I received in the mail and hung up one that has nice big blocks for writing my appointments and is all in English.

The list just goes on and on.

This is going to be interesting. President Donald Trump will announce his Fake News Awards to "the most corrupt and biased Mainstream Media losers" on January 17th!

This must mean that the losers will be added to the ranks of other Trump foes with monikers he has bestowed upon them including “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz, “Little Marco” Rubio, “Liddle” Bob Corker, “Low Energy Jeb” Bush and “Crooked Hillary” Clinton.

The latest on his list is "Sloppy Steve" Bannon, President Trump's former chief strategist dismissed in the wake of a disputed book about the Trump administration. Bannon also has been accused of being "responsible for the majority of the first-year leaks coming out of the Trump administration."

British Journalist Says "Paris Isn't Paris Anymore"

Are you going on a European vacation making the rounds to London, Paris and Rome? If so, think again about Paris. The last time I was in Paris it was PARIS with French language, French people, French food, French culture. But Paris isn't like that anymore. It's unsafe, filthy, dangerous and most people living there don't speak French.

My personal suggestion is this: don't go to Europe unless it's Poland, Hungary or Czechoslovakia - the three Eastern European countries not taking in migrants and as a result are therefore still safe. If you opt out of choosing Europe, go to Central or South America. Antigua, Guatemala and Quito, Ecuador are safe and economical with great food and friendly people. There are no terrorist attacks and no frightening mugging-type bracelet scams (shown in the video below). 

Be aware that Europe is changing into a third world continent. Do not assume that bringing unlimited numbers into Europe means that within a few years the migrants will be good Europeans contributing to European culture and civilization.
