Abortion argument leads to murder of pregnant woman
This father was pro-choice. Since the mother had the "choice" to kill her child if she wanted to, I guess he felt he had the "choice" to kill her and the child if she refused what he wanted. Let's set up a logical syllogism.
Unborn children are human beings.
It is morally acceptable to kill unborn children.
Therefore, it is morally acceptable to kill human beings.
The law is a teacher and the law is teaching that killing to get what you want is okay in the culture of death. Mother Teresa said that was what abortion taught and the increasing violence, the increasing number of forced abortions, the increasing murders of pregnant women because they refuse to abort illustrate the moral depravity of "choice."
Here's another logical syllogism.
Pro-choice people believe women have the right to kill their unborn children.
A is pro-choice.
Therefore, A believes women have the right to kill their unborn children.
"Pro-choicers" always try to have it both ways. They don't support killing children, while they support the right to kill children. That's like saying Hitler didn't support killing Jews; he just supported the right to kill Jews. It's a distinction without a difference.
Be honest, you "pro-choicers" out there. Unborn babies are trash to you who can be killed if somebody "chooses" it. This father chose to abort his baby in a very crude way by killing the mother. Hey, maybe he's just a man ahead of his time. Since it's okay to kill someone who's smaller than you are, he just extended the logic a bit to include the mom.

Missing in Action: Where is the President?
With crises exploding on the national scene: Two dozen killed by the tsunami in American Samoa as well as scores of others in nearby countries, the war in Afghanistan heating up and Iran rattling nuclear sabres, the economic disaster here at home continuing and unemployment sinking millions of Americans into poverty...where is our president? Flying off to Copenhagen to lobby for the Olympics!
What kind idiocy is that? Does Chicago even want it? The Olympics is notorious for not paying its way. Why would any city operating with a full deck want to have the increased expense during a time of economic crisis?
What kind of leadership is the President showing as our countries "chief?"
Well...President Obama has demonstrated himself to be:
1) Community-organizer-in-chief giving all his old buddies jobs and using Alinsky tactics to divide the country as he pushes for his liberal agenda,
2) Celebrity-in-chief making the rounds of TV talk shows and never missing an opportunity to appear here, there, and everywhere as though he's still campaigning,
3) Gad-about-in-chief with date nights in New York and fun time in cities around the world and the country. How often is he actually in the Oval Office?
4) Divider-in-chief with his attacks on ordinary Americans and his racial statements that fuel animosity and class hatred,
5) Lobbyist-in-chief promoting his agenda personally by calling up reporters, having beer parties in the rose garden, etc.
When, however, is the going to act like our Commander-in-chief? I wonder how many Americans wonder if anyone is actually at the helm? Or is the ship without a captain, not to mention without a rudder? I have never felt so endangered than since this man occupied the White House. I think his agenda is the destruction of the United States as we know it and he's moving it along rapidly.
Pray for our poor country.

Turn up the heat on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development
USCCB's Social Justice Arm Under Scrutiny
If you want to know what really matters to someone, look where they put their resources, especially their money. Since 1969, four years before Roe v. Wade, the bishops have been taking up the annual collection for the Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) ostensibly to "help the poor." Now I expect most Catholics who drop money in the basket think that means feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, clothe the naked, care for the sick, visit the imprisoned, etc. But that's not the CCHD understanding of helping the poor. No, every program of that type is BANNED under CCHD guidelines: Mother Teresa's homes for AIDS patients - ineligible, crisis pregnancy centers that serve the poor - ineligible, shelters and soup kitchens - ineligible. That's right: no direct services that help the poor are funded by CCHD. They are specifically ineligible for grants.
No, the way CCHD helps the poor is to feed the organizer, shelter the organizer, clothe the organizer, pay a salary to the organizer etc. so he can go out and gather the poor to sit in at banks, shut down hospital emergency rooms with bogus medical problems, and other "creative" but legal ways to harrass, intimidate, and demand whatever the organizers and the people want - usually more government services or private funding (protection money) from the targeted institutions. Sometimes what they get backfires. Economists agree that sub-prime lending and affirmative action loans to those who couldn't afford them, a primary goal of ACORN and the Industrial Areas Foundation, fueled the housing crisis and the current foreclosure debacle. Are the poor and middle class who got into homes they couldn't afford better off for being foreclosed on and losing everything? Who helped it happen? ACORN and other community orgnizations funded by the CCHD. And who helped elect the most pro-abortion politician in history? Again, the organizers with funding from the CCHD.
Now it would be reasonable to think that a Church that articulates so clearly the evils of abortion, euthanasia, and other anti-life measures, would put their money where there mouth is. So after 1973's Roe v. Wade decision, one would expect the bishops to institute a national pro-life collection focused on ending abortion. They could easily have substituted it for the CCHD collection since destruction of the family is a primary cause of poverty. But they did not.
There is not and never has been a national Catholic collection to fund groups that fight abortion and assist women in crisis pregnancy centers. The bishops' bureaucracy at the national level has very single-mindedly advanced liberalism while actually undermining the pro-life movement. (I could give an extensive description of the ways the first head of the National Right to Life Committee at the USCC, Msgr. James McHugh, later Bishop McHugh, undermined the laity's pro-life efforts, but that's the subject of another article.) At any rate, while millions of dollars have been collected under false pretenses from people in the pew and used to advance liberal issues and elect pro-abortion politicians, pro-lifers depended on their local dioceses, parishes, Knights of Columbus groups, and the faithful laity to defend the rights of the innocent and weak not only with fine words, but with cold cash.
With all the scandals we've seen in the past few years with CCHD, it's time for the bishops to take action against this blot on their honor. They have been too trusting of their own bureaucracy which is filled with liberal moles who are Catholic in name only willing to compromise the lives of 4,000 babies murdered every day in abortion mills around the country. It's time to replace the CCHD collection with a pro-life one.
Your Excellencies, to your national body we say: Stop funding the enemies of life and put OUR money where your pro-life mouth is!
As an addendum I will just mention one organization here in Virginia being funded by a $40,000 2009 CCHD grant. VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement) is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation. It is an interfaith coalition of Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Islamic congregations. Their three main issues at present are to lobby the government to build more low-income housing, provide dental care, and for immigration (read amnesty for illegals) "reform." They use mass meetings which generally feature liberal politicians who agree to advance their agenda including more public services and college tuition for illegals. Two well-known liberal priests in the diocese, Fr. Tuck Grinnell and Fr. Gerry Creedon, are up front organizers for the group. At one of the meetings someone suggested working to end abortin and the idea was booed. Many of the churches involved are loud and proud supporters of abortion, gay rights, and same sex marriage. Is this what Catholics in the pew think they are supporting when they put their money in the CCHD collection?

40 Days for Life: Saving Babies at a Town Near You!
The 40 Days for Life fall campaign which began just a few days ago has already saved about 40 babies, the first before it even started at a prayer vigil.
This campaign illustrates the tremendous power in prayer and perseverance. When Christians step out in faith and pray, not for their own self-interest, but for the weakest and most vulnerable among us, the Lord blesses their efforts abundantly. Be part of the power -- not your own power, but the power of the Holy Spirit. Last Spring 433 babies were saved during the campaign. That not just 433 babies, but 433 women spared the agony of a lifetime of regret, 433 fathers spared the guilt of failing to protect their children, thousands of grandparents who will hold their grandchildren in their arms, and countless communities touched by pro-life witness. Join 40 Days for Life in a town near you.

Cui Bono? Who benefits from the publicity about the Obama Facebook poll?
Killing-Obama poll raises online questions
I used to be a very trusting person to the point of gullibility. Life, however, has a way of removing the blinders. Seeing the deviousness of which people are capable tends to wipe away all illusions and give one a big dose of "the real world." Which leads me to ask, who benefits most from all the publicity around the shameful Facebook poll about killing the president? Who benefits from the publicity? Where is the outrage directed and who will be assumed to be the villain of the piece?
Those questions are easily answered. Who benefits?: President Obama. Who is the presumed villain? Obama's opponents.
Before you jump to the conclusion that this evil deed was done by someone who really would like to see the president dead, consider how one of his creative supporters could use this to build hatred for the president's opposition and sympathy for the president. Is that beyond possibility? Not hardly.
Remember the McCain staffer who faked the attack on herself? And the fake rape by the Duke Lacrosse team? And fake acts of vandalism? There are plenty of liars out there looking for an angle.
I hope the FBI reveals who posted the poll. The results could be interesting and surprising as well. It's likely -- if the polster was serious, that he or she is probably a mental case -- like Tiller's killer and John Salvi who shot up the Planned Parenthood in Massachusetts. And that wouldn't surprise me either. An insane culture makes people crazy.
The greatest protection from IFV, the "insane flu virus," is Catholic truth and the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Confession. There are a lot of problems in the Church, but the faith is still the best protection from insanity.

How Many More Nuts Are in This Administration?
ACORN's Man in the White House
Obama's Top Aide Gaspard Tied to ACORN
One has to laugh at Bill Clinton's resurrection of rhetoric about the "vast right-wing conspiracy." What's "vast" is the number of acorns and various other nuts in the Obama administration. Van Jones has been shaken off the White House nut tree, but there are plenty more still clinging to the branches -- like former ACORN executive Patrick Gaspard who was once Bertha Lewis' boss. You remember Bertha, the ACORN CEO. She defended all the offices that were willing to help the pimp and the hooker bring in underage children for their brothel -- oops, er, their entertainment center (or whatever the euphemism was).
Sorry, Bill, but the American people are wising up to the conspiracy and its stench is definitely coming from the left. But maybe the president can escalate a little war as a diversion (Afghanistan will do) to take people's attention off the blue dress (oops, wrong administration) off all the president's shady associates.
By the way, who's doing the vetting at the White House - Squirrel Nutkin? Must be somebody who loves nuts!

Medjugorje Continues to Divide
Update: directives on Medjugorje
Both the post and the comments are interesting. I find Medjugorje unbelievable. Pious pilgrims can experience God anywhere, but it doesn't prove the authenticity of the apparitions. I went, I prayed, I confessed. I still don't believe there was anything supernatural from God that took place there. The phenomenon itself is unbelievable. Mary, the woman who pondered things in her heart, gives tens of thousands of banal messages? Is that reasonable? She acts like a living vending machine who agrees to appear on demand and will even pop up on request in other countries to create new "shrines" for eager (and gullible) Catholics to visit.
How much money, exactly, has Medjugorje brought in for all those promoting the site?
Thank you to the bishop for his common sense.

Iran and the Nukes: "the crisis" Joe Biden predicted?
Joe The Bumbler
This article from the campaign illustrates the point of my previous post on media bias. There are two ways to commit bias, positive and negative. Positive bias hypes, spins, and twists a story. Negative bias downplays, ignores, or hides it on page 26. Joe Biden got a pass for his outrageous comment, but is it coming true?

Poll: Big Majorities Say Objective Journalism Is Dead and that Media Back Obama
A good follow-up to this story would be a study of journalism courses at major universities. Studies have shown the bias of professors at secular universities around the country. And many Catholic universities are just as bad with only a handful of exceptions. So it is any wonder liberal bias is reflected in the media outlets?

Connecting the dots between ACORN, SEIU, and Obama
What I know about ACORN, the SEIU and Obama
"I'm quite sure part of Obama and the SEIU's long-term plan is to unionize every American health-care entity. And thuggery toward that end doesn't bother them."

Bozell Grassroots Message: The Power of the Alternative Media
I'm a big fan of Brent Bozell and the Media Research Center. Brent and his wife, Norma, were fellow parishioners when I lived in Alexandria and went to St. Louis. One of my fondest memories of Brent is when he took on the role of St. Paul during Bible School one summer. With his red hair and beard, he was a natural and was a big hit with the kids telling them about his shipwreck and his missionary journeys. A man who can captivate an audience of children has real talent.
The message he shares in the video below is one that thrills me to the heart. No longer are we shackled by the "mainstream" media. The alternative media has truly given power to the people, the little people. Thank God for it and if you have a few spare dollars sending some to MRC would not be a bad investment! Thanks, Brent!

10th Anniversary of 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhising Killing -- by homosexuals!
I'm going to make two safe bets. I'll bet you never heard of Jesse Dirhising. Am I right? I also bet you've heard of Matthew Shepard! Am I batting 1000?
When a gay is murdered it makes news for years and the victim may even have his name enshrined in a law, but when "gays" brutalize and kill an adolescent, somehow the major media yawn and move on to other things. The details of Jesse's killing are disgusting and not for the squeamish, definitely not for children, but what happened needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Homosexual sex is perverted and many "gays" are disturbed individuals.
Violence and sadism are a common part of the lifestyle. They have conventions for these things, for Pete's sake, and events like the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco attract tens of thousands. It is not just a few bad apples; it's an accepted part of the movement. Even NAMBLA, (North American Man/Boy Love Association) with their motto, "Sex before eight or else it's too late.", is becoming mainstream. Hey, different strokes for different folks.
There are gay-sadism dating services and "pig-sex" orgies. (One was planned for the inauguration, but the hotel cancelled under pressure). One S&M group hosts an annual "Beat me in St. Louis" convention and a "Spanksgiving" party around Thanksgiving. They are by no means unique. Many major cities and not so major cities (and hotel chains) host similar events. How about "Tribal Fire" in Oklahoma City. The group advertised that they had booked THE ENTIRE HOTEL. One Tribal Fire event in Chicago resulted in the death of a fun-loving participant. Alcohol and drug abuse are also common in the lifestyle.
The S&M community has its own national lobby group, The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF). Their mission statement reads in part
For those uninitiated in the language, polyamory means sex with more than one person at the same time.
Wake up, America. The LGBT (How many more letters will be added as we go along?) want you to believe that their relationships are about "love." No doubt they FEEL loving toward their friends and partners (at least the ones who aren't anonymous). But love is not a feeling; it's a decision. Love wants the good of the other -- most of all his or her salvation. Does tying up and beating your partner sound like love? Not to me!
Pray for these folks who are enslaved by lust, but keep your children away from them. They deny that they recruit (If you say they do, you're labeled "homophobic."), but many "born" homosexuals figured out they were "gay" after being molested and introduced into the lifestyle by an older "friend." Recruitment is real. Go here and here and here.
Poor Jesse Dirkhiser never had a chance against his two homosexual adult "friends" who just wanted to "play" with him. On this 10th anniversary of his death pray for the repose of his soul and for all children threatened by the homosexual lifestyle. They call it "gay;" it's anything but.

The NCSF aims to advance the rights of, and advocate for consenting adults in the BDSM-Leather-Fetish, Swing, and Polyamory Communities. We pursue our vision through direct services, education, advocacy, and outreach, in conjunction with our partners, to directly benefit these communities.

This is the Change Obama Promised?
Gore-Backed Car Firm Gets Large U.S. Loan
From the Wall Street Journal:
WASHINGTON -- A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million U.S. government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000.
The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc., purveyors of a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster. Tesla is a California startup focusing on all-electric vehicles, with a number of celebrity endorsements that is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns....
Fisker's top investors include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a veteran Silicon Valley venture-capital firm of which Gore is a partner. Employees of KPCB have donated more than $2.2 million to political campaigns, mostly for Democrats, including President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that tracks campaign contributions.
This is the "change" voters wanted when they backed Obama? Remember during the campaign when he promised -- moral government, an end to politics as usual, no more corrupt government, concern for the little guy? (Have you stopped laughing yet?)
How much is Al Gore going to make from this sweet deal? Not only does it provide tax money to liberal investors, but it takes jobs from Americans to subsidize luxuries for the rich. Interesting, isn't it, how liberal Democrats excoriate "the rich" while they provide the people's money to fund rich liberals' projects?
Don't get cynical, get even. Vote conservative in the next election. If no conservatives are on the ballot from either party, write in your own name. Stop enabling liberal politics. If Republicans want your vote, insist they return to true conservatism. If you want to know what that is, read Russell Kirk. The Democratic Party is evil and the Republicans are becoming irrelevant. Michael Steele, Republican Party Chairman, recently stated that pro-abortion candidates are welcome. I guess that means pro-lifers aren't. No wonder so many are bolting.

Cardinal Mahony: The Catholic Faith is Above His Paygrade
Please, Lord, give us patience and fortitude in large supply -- we need them to tolerate Cardinal Roger Mahony's blather. In fact, the Cardinal is a living illustration of the Peter Principle: "In a Hierarchy Every Employee Tends to Rise to His Level of Incompetence." Cardinal Mahony got there the day he was ordained, but unfortunately some nasty things tend to float to the top -- ever noticed the aurface of a stagnant pond?
For a Cardinal of the Church to say that whether to exclude child-killing from the health care bill is "way behind my field" is not only absolutely outrageous, it's downright satanic. And I use that word deliberately. Cardinal Mahony is a wolf in sheep's clothing who has spent years destroying the faith in Los Angeles. He should get the boot instead of courageous bishops like Joseph Martino. Mahony's legacy (besides enabling homosexual child abuse) is a cathedral that looks like a drive-in movie theatre an androgenous statue of the Mary that is a shameful representation of the Mother of God.
I'm going for a walk to pray to work off some frustration and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for this wicked Cardinal. He reminds me of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey in England, Henry VIII's chancellor. I hope on his deathbed (if not before) Cardinal Mahony has the humility to repent and repeat Wolsey's words, "If I had served my God as diligently as I did my king, He would not have given me over in my grey hairs."

Good Advice from My Favorite Home Schooling Mom's Blog!
Back to the Family
I read lots of child psychologists when my kids were young and most didn't help much. Now I know why: the writers weren't home schooling fathers of ten. Ray Guarendi is a man with a wealth of experience -- real first-hand experience as in, "Honey, the boys put crickets in the girls' beds and a garter snake in their underwear drawer. Will you talk to them."
Check out the blog entry with its good practical advice and then you might consider picking up one of his books. I'm checking out the library first, but I'm in my second generation of kids and still have a lot to learn.
I love his focusing right in on an important point. Don't ask if your kids' behavior is "normal;" ask if it's "right."

Get Real on the Economy: When China Dumps the Dollar, It's Big Inflation Time
Bernanke Is Wrong! The Economy Is Getting Worse, Not Better, Schiff Says
Pay down your debt and get ready for the belt tightening. God punishes nations where they deserve it. Americans have killed their children for consumerism. God will hit us in the pocketbook because we have made Mammon our God. Look at the shopping malls with their marble columns, bright lights, and shimmering shop windows. They represent our temples to Mammon. How many won't set foot in a church on Sunday, but spend hours at the mall?
God's people should never fear to see the cleansing because it brings a return to what is true and good and leads many back to the the Author of life. Prayer and prudence are the watchword for difficult times. And it doesn't hurt to laugh a little. This video comes from Columbia Business School (CBS) Follies.

The People of Manassas, VA are Under Siege by these Radical Illegals -- Who are the Haters?
If you want to see a movement of hate visit the Mexica Movement website. They want ethnic cleansing of those with white, European backgrounds. They eulogize the methods of murderer John Brown who wanted to use black slaves to mount a revolution killing men, women, and children in the South. These are racist revolutionaries defining "good" whites and "bad" whites by who adopts their cause.
This is scary stuff filled with hatred.
Watch this second video that claims those opposing the illegal day laborer sites in Manassas are racist. But look at the destruction of neighborhoods -- the trash and the gang grafitti. This is one of the consequences of illegal immigration. If you lived in a development where illegals were crowding 30 people into the four-bedroom house next door, how would you feel? Would you let your little children play in the yard or take their scooters out on the sidewalk? This is happening in neighborhoods in northern Virginia. Americans are paying a big price for illegal immigration and so are illegals themselves who are often the target of the criminal element in their midst.
How many countries allow foreigners to just walk in, stay, and take advantage of taxpayer benefits. NONE! NOT ONE! And if we're so evil, why do they want to be here anyway? Illegal immigration is doing serious damage to this country, but those supporting amnesty and open borders plan to register all these folks as democrats. Some of the people angriest about this are LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who waited in line and came in by the rules. Now they are discriminated against in favor of illegals.
Mmm...mmm...mmm: Indoctrinating the children.
According to the posting on YouTube, "This was filmed around June 19, 2009 at the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, NJ."
I found this line particularly offensive: "Red, yellow, black and white, all are equal in your sight."
Now, Christians talk about all men being equal in the sight of God, but in the sight of Barack Obama? Is this one more demonstration of the Messiah syndrome?
Actually, the sentiment applied to Obama is demonstrably untrue. The white cop in Boston, James Crowley, who arrested Obama's Yale professor friend, Henry Gates. certainly was not equal in Obama's sight to his liberal buddy. Crowley is white and Obama, knowing zilch about the situation, immediately profiled him as a racist because of his skin color. Gates, is black, hence, in the sight of Obama, he had to be the victim of racism. Funny, how it never works the other way. Black on white crime is rarely labled racist.
No, not only are we all not equal in the sight of liberals like Obama (remember the union thugs who were ushered into Carnahan's town hall meeting ahead of his riffraff constituents outside), but we're all racists now if we dare to disagree with the anointed one.
There is something particularly troubling, however, about the indoctrination of children. We saw it during the campaign with children and young people being coached in Obama worship by adults. I don't remember ever seeing anything like this before and I've lived through quite a few presidents. Maybe there was a little of it with Jack and Jackie Kennedy and the Camelot mystique. But certainly nothing like this.
One last comment: children can't mention the name of God in the classroom or utter a prayer, but they can recite and sing what is essentially a song of "praise" to "Barack Hussein Obama?" What's wrong with this picture?
Fellow Trinity Alumna, Kathleen Sebelius, Holds a Pity Party for her "Painful" State
Catholic HHS Secretary Sebelius Says Being Prohibited from Communion "Painful" - Archbishop Naumann Responds
Actions have consequences. Perhaps Kathleen's mommy never taught her that. Kathleen would have been a freshman at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. when I was a senior. I would like to say that Kathleen got a solid Catholic education there, but Trinity was already sinking into the slough of moral relativism and pop Catholicism in the late 60s. I left Trinity scandalized and, to my shame, stopped practicing the faith for a time because of it and my own bad decisions.
Today Trinity, with its gay pride club and Halleluia Chorus for Kathleen, Nancy Pelosi, and other high profile pro-abort alumnae, rings the death knell for any true faith on campus. Oh, they may still have Mass, but the real agenda is girl-power and they have a track record of producing high-profile, pro-abortion democrats. (Hillary Clinton's chief of staff, Maggie Williams, was also a Trinity grad.)
Kathleen Sebelius postures as the poor little "victim" of the big bad archbishop. In doing so she merely reflects the result of scandal combined with ambition and rationalization. Archbishop Naumanm is a doctor of the soul who has administered the bad-tasting medicine that offers a cure. Will she take it? Or will Kathleen listen to the quacks and ear-ticklers trying to convince her the growing cancer won't kill in the end.
Pray for Kathleen Sebelius and for her spiritual father, Archbishop Naumann. Thank God for a bishop who speaks the truth in charity for the salvation of souls.

The Never-Ending Story: CCHD Funding of Immoral Organizations
Catholic Campaign for Human Development Criticized, Funded Pro-Abortion Groups
The scandals never stop coming. CCHD (Catholic Campaign for Human Development) spends millions to fund ACORN's fraudulent activity. CCHD funds groups that support abortion, contraception, and same-sex marriage. If CCHD was a vaudeville act, they would have felt the hook years ago, but unfortunately many Catholics aren't paying attention to the show. Their pastors tells them its a hit and they just keep throwing their money in the basket while CCHD does the soft shoe.
Once the word gets out, CCHD is in troube and Bellarmine Veritas Ministry is helping do just that. Their recent report about groups that fund abortion and contraception resulted in several groups being defunded. But how many others out there are doing the same thing?
A bigger question is, who is vetting these groups? Dioceses have chanceries FILLED with church bureaucrats. Are we to believe they don't know what the funded groups are doing? Or are the folks in charge of examining the groups "Catholics" like Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, and the cafeteria bunch at Catholics United who think abortion, stem cell research, same sex marriage, and other life and family issues are marginal?
Pass the information about CCHD to your friends and write a big check to the Missionaries of Charity, a local crisis pregnancy center, or your favorite faithful missionary.

Is Fr. Tuck Grinnell Endorsing Congressman Jim Moran?
On Monday evening St. Anthony's in Falls Church, VA along with other liberal organizations (some with aims directly opposed to Catholic teaching), sposored pro-abortion Catholic Congressman Jim Moran at a forum to discuss "immigration reform." St. Anthony's participation could only happen with the direct support of pastor/community organizer Fr. Tuck Grinnell. Fr. Tuck is a lead organizer in Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement (VOICE), an affiliate of the Alinsky group, Industrial Areas Foundation.
"Immigration reform" is codespeak for amnesty for illegals. Moran not only favors amnesty, but in-state tuition, welfare benefits, and other taxpayer-funded services for the invaders. This is tantamount to someone entering your house uninvited, sitting down at your table, and demanding your dinner and a bed. It isn't just a border problem. About 40% of illegals come through a port of entry and then violate the terms of their admission.
Michael Cutler of the Center for Immigration Studies was a thirty-year veteran of INS, the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. His experience makes him an authority on the impact of illegal immigration on the United States. I recently heard him on a radio talk show bringing up a number of serious problems, some of which I had never considered:
---Economic Impact: Many illegals come for one reason - to make money and send it home. This results in a serious financial drain on the American economy.
---Health Impact: Illegals tend to congregate and, because many men come without their families, prostitution increases. Cutler described how health clinics pop up in cities with large illegal populations to service the prostitutes. (And no doubt provide abortions.) Often they also bring diseases like TB.
---Crime: Gang activity is common among the illegal populations. They prey on everyone. In my own state of Virginia, gang violence has been directly linked to illegals.
---National Security: The 9/11 hijackers were illegal aliens. Our failure to control our borders and monitor those who overstay makes us more vulnerable to terrorist activity.
Do the research. Compassion is fine. We all want to welcome the stranger who comes in legally. But illegals prey on both natural born citizens and those who waited in line to enter legally. It is insane to reward their actions.

Archbishop Burke says No Catholic Funeral for Pro-Abortion Politicians!
Archbishop Burke repeats: no Communion, no Catholic funeral for pro-abortion politicians
The head of the highest Church court, Archbishop Raymond Burke, has said there should be NO COMMUNION and NO CATHOLIC FUNERAL for pro-abortion Catholic politicians without public evidence of remorse. The sin is public, "his repentance must also be public," said the Archbishop.
FROM LIFESITE NEWS:Funeral Rites Should be Denied to Publicly Pro-Abort Catholics: Vatican Official Says Catholics also "should have the courage to look truth in the eye and call things by their common names."...
"In what appeared to be a reference to the Kennedy funeral scandal, Burke said that 'neither Holy Communion nor funeral rites should be administered' to politicians who support abortion or same-sex 'marriage.'
"'To deny these is not a judgment of the soul, but a recognition of the scandal and its effects,' he said.
"Burke said that when a politician is associated 'with greatly sinful acts about fundamental questions like abortion and marriage, his repentance must also be public.'
"'Anyone who grasps the gravity of what he has done will understand the need to make it public,' said Burke.
"Sen. Ted Kennedy, a staunch abortion and same-sex 'marriage' supporter, was laid to rest in a highly publicized and laudatory Catholic funeral ceremony in Boston on August 29. Catholic pro-life leaders had pleaded with Cardinal Sean O'Malley not to allow the public ceremony, but the cardinal ultimately presided over the rites. In turn, other leaders in the Catholic community, most notably Fr. Thomas Rosica, the CEO of Canada's Salt & Light television network, lambasted the pro-life response to the funeral as uncharitable."
Thank you, Archbishop Burke, for having the courage to speak the truth in charity. Thank you for affirming faithful Catholics in their attempts to uphold the fullness of Catholic truth. Thank you for acting as a true doctor of souls offering the medicinal remedy to save souls. May those Catholic politicians who have sold their souls for the allure of worldly honors recognize the danger they face, turn away from evil, and embrace the laws of God.
"Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Let us pray that Archbishop Burke's courageous witness to the truth will put the fear of the Lord into not only wayward politicians, but his brother bishops who endanger the souls of their flocks, and their own souls, by tickling ears with false teaching.

Fr. Gerry Creedon Trivializes Murder of the Innocent as a "Narrow Beginning of Life Question"
UPDATE NOVEMBER 17, 2017: FR. CREEDON DIED YESTERDAY. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE REPOSE OF HIS SOUL. YOU CAN READ HIS OBITUARY IN THE ARLINGTON CATHOLIC HERALD.
Fr. Gerry Creedon is the pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Arlington, VA. He is a champion of liberal politics, a personal friend of the Kennedy's who participated in the scandalous near-canonization funeral of Ted Kennedy in Boston last month. He also attended the graveside service where Cardinal McCarrick read the pro-forma Vatican letter, implying the pope's approval of the man and his scandalous life.
Fr. Creedon is a leader in the recently formed Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Involvement (VOICE), an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) lobbying for more government funding for just about everything.
Fr. Creedon could be the poster boy for what's wrong in the American Church today. It isn't the priest in his role as alter christus that matters, but his important job of political organizer working for liberation. He doesn't organize his parish with Eucharistic processions and holy hours, urging parishioners to perform the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. He holds mass meetings to organize lobby groups to pressure the government to do "charity."
The fact that Fr. Creedon treats the vulnerable and weakest members of society with indifference, almost contempt, is not surprising. The babies appear to be invisible, to him. Abortion is just one of those "neuraligic questions" that "can cause a lot of polarization" as he puts it. I wonder if Jesus would agree. Somehow I doubt it in view of his statement that, "Whatever you do to the least ones, you do to me."
See below the transcript of Father's final comments. Would you want to be part of his "consensus" and join his lobby group seeking "equality and justice for all Americans".... except the smallest and most vulnerable? Fr. Creedon's message reminds me of the community organizers of the French Revolution whose motto was "liberty, equality, fraternity." It didn't apply to everyone, of course, as the guillotine's voracious appetite illustrated.
While Fr. Creedon spouts the nonsense below, millions of babies, victims of the "neuralgic question" of abortion continue to die, making his lip service to "equality and justice" so much liberal blather.
"I think we'll get a consensus if we go toward the idea of equality and justice which are ideals for all Americans and ideals that all the faith communities can propose rather than dealing with the narrow end of life or, for that matter, begining of life questions."
A victim of Father's "narrow beginning of life question:"
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the lives of the unborn babies I have spiritually adopted who are in danger of abortion. Amen. - Prayer of Archbishop Fulton Sheen

CCHD Eliminates One Rotten Nut; Others Still Funded!
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) eliminated ACORN last year from their funding list. Has the problem been "fixed?" Not hardly. Oversight of grantees is insufficient. Catholic money in California is going to groups that support same-sex marriage. California Catholic has identified at least two grantees promoting the gay agenda.
CCHD was designed to funnell money into "progressive" groups. Traditional Catholic charities, those that performed the corporal works of mercy, were, by definition, ineligible for CCHD grants. Only those that "empowered" the poor were to be funded.
While CCHD claims to be aiming at poverty's roots, it misses the mark. One of the greatest causes of poverty is the breakdown of the family. And yet browsing the CCHD grantees list, you would be hard-pressed to find a single "charity" that helps to strengthen the poor family. As for including the poor in the makeup and decision-making of groups, even that is questionable. VOICE in Virginia is an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation. It is primarily made up of affluent suburban Christians. In Catholic parishes (and presumably protestant churches as well), pastors strong-arm groups to attend the mass meetings and be the "voice" of the people. Among those out front, however, the identifiable voices are two "progressive" priests. It will be interesting to see if VOICE appears on the 2009 list of CCHD grantees. They are already diverting parish money for their liberal lobbying and will likely get their hand in the national till as well.
And here's another article from Big Government. There is a troubling link between "big government" and "big bureacratic Church" represented by the CCHD which has helped many a liberal, pro-abortion, pro-gay politician get elected through the help of ACORN and ACORN-type community organizing groups.
Is CCHD fixable? It's been thirty years and they're still funding groups opposed to Catholic teaching. How much can they be trusted and how long do we give these bureaucrats to get it right?

Another Black Leader Thumbs Nose at Racist Claims; Abortion is What's Racist!
Black Pro-Life Leader Says Opposition to Pro-Abortion Health Care Plans Not Racist
Targeting blacks for abortion is what's racist!
"Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A top black pro-life advocate says there is nothing racist about opposing the health care plans pending in Congress because they force taxpayers to finance abortions. Dr. Alveda King is responding to critics who say such opposition is racist and point to the outburst from Rep. Joe Wilson....
“'Congressman Joe Wilson’s breach of etiquette was definitely wrong, but to call it racist is to cry wolf,' she told LifeNews.com today.
"King says abortion itself is racist because it targets the African-American community as abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood place centers in minority neighborhoods."

Open Letter to Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., President, University of Notre Dame
FROM PROFESSOR CHARLES RICE
September 21, 2009
Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.
President
University of Notre Dame
Notre Dame, Indiana 46556
Dear Father Jenkins:
Professor Fred Freddoso has shared with me the response on Sept. 17th by Dr. Frances L. Shavers, Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to the President, to Fred’s email of that date to you asking that Notre Dame request dismissal of the charges against the persons arrested for trespass on the campus in relation to the honoring of President Obama at Commencement. Dr. Shavers responded on your behalf to Fred’s email because, as she said, “the next few days are rather hectic for [Fr. Jenkins].” I don’t want to add to the hectic burden of your schedule by sending you a personal message that could impose on an assistant the task of responding. I therefore take the liberty of addressing to you several concerns in the form of this open letter to which a response is neither required nor expected.
First, permit me to express my appreciation for the expressions of support for the pro-life cause in your September 16th “Letter concerning post-commencement initiatives.” I know, however, that in a matter as significant as this, you will appreciate and welcome a respectful but very candid expression of views. In my opinion, the positions you have taken are deficient in some respects.
In your Letter of Sept. 16th, you rightly praise the work of the Women’s Care Center (WCC) and of its superb leader, Ann Murphy Manion. I commend you on your statement that the WCC “and similar centers in other cities deserve the support of Notre Dame clubs and individuals.” Your praise of the WCC and similar efforts, however, overlooks a practical step that Notre Dame, as an institution, ought to take. That would be for you, on behalf of Notre Dame, to issue a standing invitation to the WCC to establish an office on the Notre Dame campus to serve students, faculty and staff if, in the judgment of the WCC, that would be desirable and effective. Such would give practical effect, right here at Notre Dame, to your words in support of the WCC and similar efforts.
Your Letter announced your formation of the Task Force on Supporting the Choice for Life. Rather than offer a detailed evaluation of my own, I note my agreement with the personal analysis of William Dempsey, ND ’52, President of the Sycamore Trust, calling attention to “the obviously deliberate exclusion from Task Force membership of anyone associated with the ND organizations that have been unashamedly and actively pro-life: the Center for Ethics & Culture and the ND Fund for the Protection of Human Life. Nor was the student representative chosen from the leadership of the student RTL organization or from anyone active in last year’s student alliance protesting the honoring of the President, ND Response. It is hard to resist the inference that this is as a move toward marginalizing the Center and the Fund, neither of which receives any University support the way it is…. Finally, it is unsettling but instructive that this announcement comes a day after Fr. Jenkins’ annual address to the faculty in which he described his goals for the year, which included increasing female and minority faculty representation but not a word about the most crucial problem facing the university, the loss of Catholic identity through the failure to hire enough Catholics to restore the predominance required by the Mission Statement. This is a striking falling away from [Fr. Jenkins’] wonderful inaugural address. The fact that ND did nothing to serve the pro-life cause until forced by the reaction to the Obama incident testifies to the fact that, without a predominance of committed Catholics on the faculty, any pro-life efforts launched under pressure will in time fade away. The risk, and surely it is real, is that this initiative and the publicity ND is generating about it will deflect attention from the fundamental problem besetting Notre Dame….But I return to where I began: A project that deliberately excludes from participation those who have courageously manned organizations standing against the faculty attitude toward the pro-life cause ought to be regarded with suspicion.”
My main concern in this letter arises from your statement in your Letter that “Each year on January 22, the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, the March for Life is held in Washington D.C. to call on the nation to defend the right to life. I plan to participate in that march. I invite other members of the Notre Dame Family to join me and I hope we can gather for a Mass for Life at that event.” I understand that Notre Dame students have invited you to participate with them in the March. The problem arises from an aftermath of Commencement. On this I refer back to Chief of Staff Shavers’ response to Professor Freddoso’s request that Notre Dame ask dismissal of the charges against those arrested. Dr. Shavers states that “these protesters were arrested for trespassing and not for expressing their pro-life position.” That is misleading. This is not an ordinary case of trespass to land such as would occur if a commuter walks across your lawn and flower bed as a short-cut to the train station. Notre Dame is ordinarily an open campus. Those 88 persons, 82 of whom are represented by Tom Dixon, ND ’84, ND Law School ’93, were arrested not because they were there, but because of who they were, why they were there and what they were saying. Other persons with pro-Obama signs were there but were not arrested and not disturbed. Serious legal and constitutional questions are involved, arising especially from the symbiotic relationship between the Notre Dame Security Police, who made the arrests, and the County Police. This letter is not a legal brief. Rather I merely note that it is disingenuous for Notre Dame to pretend that this is merely a routine trespass case.
The confusion is compounded by Dr. Shavers’ statement that “Under Indiana law, however, Notre Dame is not the complainant in these matters and so is not in any position to drop or dismiss the charges.” That sentence is half-true and half-false. Notre Dame is the complaining victim of the alleged trespass. Whether to dismiss the charges, of course, is for the prosecutor to decide.
Dr. Shavers states that “Notre Dame officials have been in regular contact with the prosecutor’s office on these matters, and, in consultation with the University, the prosecutor has offered Pre-Trial Diversion to those for whom the May incident was a first-time offense. As described by the prosecutor, this program does not require the individual to plead guilty or go through a trial; rather, the charges are dropped after one year so long as the individual does not commit another criminal offense. We understand that most of those arrested have chosen not to take advantage of this offer and obviously we cannot force them to do so. In essence, the choice of whether or not to go to trial belongs to the defendants.”
Pre-trial diversion could change their status as convicted criminals. But it is only because of the actions of Notre Dame that they are treated by the law as criminals in the first place. Notre Dame continues to subject those defendants to the criminal process. If they entered pretrial diversion they would each have to pay hundreds of dollars in costs, which would amount in effect to a fine imposed on them, with the concurrence of Notre Dame, for praying. Most of the 88 are in straitened financial circumstances. The imposition on them of such a fine would be a serious hardship. Instead, Notre Dame ought to state publicly that it has no interest in seeing those prosecutions proceed in any form and that it requests the prosecutor to exercise his discretion to dismiss all those charges unconditionally. Given the prospect of 88 or so separate jury trials, probably not consolidated, in cases involving potentially serious legal and constitutional issues, such a request by Notre Dame would surely be appreciated by the taxpayers of St. Joseph County.
Those 88 defendants were on the other side of the campus, far removed from the site of the Commencement. They are subjected by Notre Dame to the criminal process because they came, as individuals, to Notre Dame to pray, peacefully and non-obstructively, on this ordinarily open campus, in petition and reparation, as a response to what they rightly saw as a facilitation by Notre Dame of various objectively evil policies and programs of Notre Dame’s honoree, President Obama. Those persons, whom Notre Dame has subjected to legal process as criminals, are neither statistics nor abstractions. Let me tell you about a few of them.
Fr. Norman Weslin, O.S., 79 years old and in very poor health, was handcuffed by Notre Dame Security Police as he sang “Immaculate Mary” on the campus sidewalk near the entrance. He asked them, “Why would you arrest a Catholic priest for trying to stop the killing of a baby?” The NSDP officers put him on a pallet and dragged him away to jail. St. Joseph County Police were also there. I urge you to watch the readily available videos of Fr. Weslin’s arrest. If you do, I will be surprised and disappointed if you are not personally and deeply ashamed.
Such treatment of such a priest may be the lowest point in the entire history of Notre Dame. You would profit from knowing Fr. Weslin. Notre Dame should give Fr. Weslin the Laetare Medal rather than throw him in jail. Norman Weslin, born to poor Finnish immigrants in upper Michigan, finished high school at age 17 and joined the Army. He converted from the Lutheran to the Catholic faith and married shortly after earning his commission. He became a paratrooper and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the 82nd Airborne Division, obtaining his college degree enroute. After a distinguished career, he retired in 1968. As the legalization of abortion intensified, he and his wife, Mary Lou, became active pro-lifers in Colorado. In 1980, Mary Lou was killed by a drunk driver. Norman personally forgave the young driver. Norman Weslin was later ordained as a Catholic priest, worked with Mother Teresa in New York and devoted himself to the rescue of unborn children through nonviolent, prayerful direct action at abortuaries. In 1990 at Christmastime, I was privileged to defend Fr. Weslin and his Lambs of Christ when they were arrested at the abortuary in South Bend. One does not have to agree with the tactic of direct, non-violent action at abortuaries to have the utmost admiration, as I have, for Fr. Weslin and his associates. At Notre Dame, Fr. Weslin engaged in no obstruction or disruption. He merely sought to pray for the unborn on the ordinarily open campus of a professedly Catholic university. The theme of Notre Dame’s honoring of Obama was “dialogue.” It would have been better for you and the complicit Fellows and Trustees to dialogue with Fr. Weslin rather than lock him up as a criminal. You all could have learned something from him. His actions in defense of innocent life and the Faith have been and are heroic. Notre Dame’s treatment of Fr. Weslin is a despicable disgrace, the responsibility for which falls directly and personally upon yourself as the President of Notre Dame.
The other “criminals” stigmatized by Notre Dame include many whom this university should honor rather than oppress. One is Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, who has become pro-life and a Catholic actively trying to spread the word about abortion. Those “criminals” include retired professors, retired military officers, mothers of many children, a Catholic nun in full habit, Christian pastors, several Ph.Ds, and Notre Dame grads. They are, in summary, “the salt of the earth.” They came, on their own, at their own expense, and not as part of any “conspiracy,” from 18 states. They came because they love what Notre Dame claims to represent. They themselves do represent it. But one has to doubt whether Notre Dame does so anymore.
Clearly, Notre Dame should do all it can to obtain the dismissal of those criminal charges. This has nothing to do with one’s opinion of the tactics of rescue at abortuaries. It is simply a matter of you, as President, doing the manifestly right thing.
Please permit me to speak bluntly about your announced purpose to participate in the March for Life and to “invite other members of the Notre Dame Family to join me.” Notre Dame should have had an official presence at every March for Life since 1973. But until now it never has. Notre Dame students, with the encouragement of Campus Ministry, participate in the March but the University, as such, has not done so. To put it candidly, it would be a mockery for you to present yourself now at the March, even at the invitation of Notre Dame students, as a pro-life advocate while, in practical effect, you continue to be the jailer, as common criminals, of those persons who were authentic pro-life witnesses at Notre Dame. When the pictures of Fr. Weslin’s humiliation and arrest by your campus police was flashed around the world it did an incalculable damage to Notre Dame that can be partially undone only by your public and insistent request, as President of Notre Dame, that the charges be dropped. In my opinion your attachment to the March for Life, including your offering of a Mass for Life, could give scandal in the absence, at least, of such an insistent request to dismiss those charges. Your decision to present an official Notre Dame presence at the March could be beneficial, but not in the context of an unrelenting criminalization by Notre Dame of sincere and peaceful friends of Notre Dame whose offense was their desire to pray, on the campus, for the University and all concerned including yourself. If you appear at the March as the continuing criminalizer of those pro-life witnesses, you predictably will earn not approbation but scorn—a scorn which will surely be directed toward Notre Dame as well. As long as you pursue the criminalization of those pro-life witnesses, your newest pro-life statements will be regarded reasonably as a cosmetic covering of the institutional anatomy in the wake of the continuing backlash arising from your conferral of Notre Dame’s highest honor on the most relentlessly pro-abortion public official in the world.
In conclusion, this letter is not written in a spirit of contention. It is written rather in the mutual concern we share for Notre Dame—and for her university. I hope you will reconsider your positions on these matters. Our family prays for you by name every night. And we wish you success in the performance of your obligations to the University and all concerned.
Sincerely,

Not Another Bailout! Payback Time for the Liberal Press?
Obama open to newspaper bailout bill
"Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) has introduced S. 673, the so-called "Newspaper Revitalization Act," that would give outlets tax deals if they were to restructure as 501(c)(3) corporations. That bill has so far attracted one cosponsor, Cardin's Maryland colleague Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D)."
Then they'll be "charities" eligible for federal dollars -- like Planned Parenthood. Oh, it's interesting to watch this guy now that he has the printing presses at his disposal.

BREITBART: The politicized art behind the ACORN plan
Ho-hum...we all know that the mainstream media are shills for liberal politicians. They've demonstrated it again and again. Not that FOX is squeaky clean. As a serious Catholic I'm not a fan of cafeteria Catholics Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity either. I'm interested in the the truth, which the Lord promises will set us free.
As Scripture says, we need to be as wise as serpents and as gentle as doves and continue to fight the good fight. Kudos to the young investigative team, James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, who did what the "IMPORTANT professionals" (Yes, Charlie, that means you and ABC!) didn't and wouldn't! It's a David and Goliath story to warm the heart!

ALERT: Stopping at McDonald's May Be Child Abuse!
I used to think it was a joke when folks talked about the food police banning Big Macs. But it's not a joke any more. Parents in Scotland have had their children removed because the kids are overweight. That's now considered "abuse." Is it on the horizon here? No, it's already here.
This is the insanity of the culture of death where stabbing a baby in the head and sucking out his brains is a legal exercise of "choice," but buying your kid a big mac is an act of abuse. The families who have these grossly obese children need help, not a criminal record and having their kids snatched! I live in one of the fattest counties in Virginia. Is Social Services going to bring a scale to school and take all the children who are more than 100 pounds overweight? How about 50? How about 30? 25? Somebody wake me up; it must be a nightmare!
By the way, the last time I was in a public school there were vending machines filled with candy bars, chips, oreos, sugary sodas, and other unhealthy treats. Can parents with obese children sue the school system for putting temptation in their children's paths? Government nannies, heal thyselves.

More on Swine Flu: Mandatory Shots?
According to medical critics, the swine flu vaccines being prepared by the millions of doses are poorly tested, contain dangerous ingredients, and are likely to be ineffective. Add to that the fact that that the flu strain so far has proven milder than the normal variety, which leads one to ask -- Why? Why all the scare-mongering and hype over the swine flu when it's less severe and shorter?
I don't think I want to be a guinea pig for the CDC and the drug companies. You can boost your immune system by improving your diet, getting plenty of sunshine and exercise, and taking vitamin D. Before you take the shot, do the research and make an informed decision.

Baucus Bill Riddled with Abortion Mandates and Federal Abortion Subsidies
From National Right to Life: "The bill contains provisions that would send massive federal subsidies directly to both private insurance plans and government-chartered cooperatives that pay for elective abortion. This would be a drastic break from longstanding federal policy, under which federal funds do not pay for elective abortions or subsidize health plans that cover elective abortions."

The Virginia governor's race gets curiouser and curiouser. How can you say you won't raise taxes and in the next sentence say you're going to raise taxes because the money has to come from somewhere. You never hear a liberal promise to cut spending. Everything is "on the table," he says. So look for taxes on anything that moves in Virginia if Deeds is elected.
He's Here, He's There, He's Everywhere! Dr. Obama & his magic healthcare elixir.
President Obama is out and about this weekend on all the talk shows (well...the liberal talk shows) selling-selling-selling Dr. Obama's Magic Elixir for curing all your aches and pains. Only $900 billion for a ten-year supply. Part of his quack selling technique is to demonize those who debunk the elixir's potency. "It won't work," they say. "In fact it will make you sicker! Drink tea instead."
But the Doc knows how to treat that kind of talk. He told Bob Schieffer of CBS, "The 24-hour news cycle and cable television and blogs and all this, they focus on the most extreme elements on both sides, they can't get enough of conflict. It's catnip to the media right now. And so the easiest way to get 15 minutes of fame is to be rude to somebody." Ah yes, Doc Obama's opponents are rude! They're just trying to keep you from drinking his magic potion because they don't want you to be cured.
Remember, this snake oil salesman is a community organizer and the community organizer uses conflict to sell his elixir. Here's how Saul Alinsky put it, "Your function [is] to agitate to the point of conflict." Dr. Obama needs conflict to freeze his opponents. They are the ones pointing out that Doc Obama is a con man and his elixir is snake oil. So watch for language this weekend that seeks an enemy: the bloggers, conservative talk-radio, insurance companies, etc. Dr. Obama will tell you the tea is poison and the only real cure is his magic elixir. Buy it at your peril. It isn't just sugar water, it's a mix of ingredients downright dangerous to your health.

Community Organizing at its Ugly Worst! President Obama, Call Off Your Thugs!
The Washington Times has an interesting article this morning, Health reformers targeting 'enemies.' The very first paragraph reads: "The plan for a series of grass-roots demonstrations Tuesday to promote President Obama's health care agenda calls for tightly scripted events and an 'escalation' of efforts against 'enemies' of reform."
Note the tactics straight out of the Alinsky playbook: 1) identify an enemy, 2) freeze him, 3) choose a tactic your mob [okay, Alinsky doesn't call his lackeys a mob] will enjoy. [Union thugs enjoy "escalating" against their opponents, especially if they can do it with steel-tipped boots and brass knuckles.]
The article goes on, "The document, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, details specific talking points, tactics, props and strategies to stage the protests. It lists goals that include action that 'mobilizes our base by animating existing anger about private insurers.' The HCAN field plan dictates that each protest will include a minimum of 30 participants, target only health care insurers CIGNA, WellPoint and United Health Care and showcase what it calls 'victims,' or people who have either lost insurance, can't afford it or were denied coverage because of pre-existing medical conditions....The field plan says the protests should attract media coverage that 'creates villains or enemies that serve as a contrast with our side; validates the need for affordability and the public health insurance option; [and] forces the other side to respond.'"
The organizers are getting more and more transparent and their tactics are no longer a mystery. Honest liberals need to wake up to the fact that they are nothing but pawns on a chessboard being used by unscrupulous politicians for their own purpose. The immoral men and women of both parties do it, liberals just do it more effectively. One big difference -- the mainstream media goes after Republicans, remember Richard Nixon and his "enemies" list? You won't read about this in the New York Times. They stopped being journalists years ago and are nothing but shills for liberal politicians.
One other thought - When you consider that Obama promised "hope" and "change," this escalation of ugly mafia-style tactics is shocking. America, you voted to put a community-organizer-in-chief in the White House. He's running his administration according to Alinsky's Rules for Radicals and turning the country into a banana republic. Push back with prayer, letters to the editor, support for real conservatives, and join the tea party movement.
Don't let the organizers win by default. As Edmund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for enough good men to do nothing."

How Catholics Funded the Election of the Most Pro-Abortion Politician in History
The Catholic Connection to Barack Obama
This is a 2008 column by Phyllis Schlafly, but worth reviewing to see how Catholics in the pew financed the election of Barack Obama, the most pro-abortion politician in history. The Catholic Campaign for Human Development has a record that puts in queston whether or not it can be trusted. A campaign to fund charitable projects is great if the money truly goes to charity. But if it's funding liberal politics and politicians and undermining the Catholic faith in the process, then something needs to be done. CCHD has defunded ACORN. Is the problem ended? No. Large portions of the collection go to other community organizing groups that operate the same way, whose primary purpose is advancing liberal politics and politicians. Ask your bishop for an overhaul in CCHD. In the meantime ask yourself whether the campaign can currently be trusted with your money.

James L. Pouillon Mourned; Rest in Peace
Michigan Mourns Murdered Pro-Lifer
Debate rages on whether James Pouillon, slain anti-abortion activist, should be considered a martyr
It's sad to read the statement by Pouillon's son who hadn't spoken to his father in eight years! A lot can happen to a man in eight years even if all the son's accusations were true at one time. Does he think his dad got what he deserved? It sounds like it.
Personally, I find it hard to believe that a man can be motivated for twenty years to go out regularly to witness to the humanity of the unborn because he hates women. As a long-time pro-life activist and sidewalk counselor, I know the cost of being out week after week and the energy it requires. Hate can motivate for a time, but I seriously doubt he could have hidden it from the pro-lifers around him for long.
Other questions come to mind as well. What are the son's views on abortion? Or his politics? Or his religion? Is his vitriol motivated by other disagreements he had with his dad? His statement certainly reflects an anger of his own. Did he hate his dad so deeply that he snapped a photo in his head of a man who was never allowed to change? The fact that a daughter spoke at Pouillon's memorial service makes one wonder if his son is dealing with his own problems, especially in so viciously attacking his father when he can no longer defend himself.
Family relationships are complicated; that's all this proves.
But one thing is for sure. No one deserves to be murdered for standing on the sidewalk showing the visual reality of pre-natal development and abortion. Pray for James Pouillon and for his family including his estranged son.

How They Hate those Nasty Pictures! Except the Ones at the Holocaust Museum.
A friend of mine, who prefers to remain anonymous because of her husband's job, sent me the following commentary which I think is spot on.
When we see photographs of the Nazi death camps, how does it make us feel? (obviously, horrified).
When we see these photos, do we get angry with the photographers or the activist groups who are showing them to us? (No, we are thankful to them for revealing the atrocities).
Do you think the Germans during WW II (the ones that were left after the Jews, Priests, etc. fled or were exterminated) would have been angry with such photos being shown to them? (Possibly)
Do you think the Germans of the day would have denied that such crimes could be perpetrated by their government? (possibly) Why? (Because they would likely not want to look in the mirror. They would not want to admit that such atrocities could be going on under their noses.)
Why, when Americans are confronted with photos of aborted unborn babies, do they get angry at the activists who are showing the photos to them? Why do they not feel the same horror they do when They see the photos of crimes committed against the Jews? (The obvious answer is because they don't want to look in the mirror. It is easier to vent anger at the deliverer of the message than to acknowledge the silent holocaust that is occurring in our midst.)
To look in the mirror is to admit shame and guilt.

Pray for Princes of the Church who Undermine the Faith and the Faithful
Cardinal Schonborn of Vienna banned his auxiliary from attending a pro-life rally at city hall against an award to an abortion mill. Is it any wonder the culture of death is advancing and becoming bolder? Pray for priests, especially those who are princes of the Church. "To whom much is given, much is expected."

One More Tea Party Racist, eh?
Lloyd Marcus could give Frank Sinatra a run for his money. But as a black conservative he doens't count. He's what liberals describe as oreos or Uncle Toms. Guess he's a racist as well since he opposes the president. Watch the video below for the touching story of one black man who's character shines through as well as the character of his faithful father who loved his family enough to get them out of the ghetto of public housing. Lloyd's story is dramatic and touching and reveals how racism really ends.
Liberals are the real racists. Their policies have destroyed the black family. Daniel Patrick Moynihan identified the problem in 1965 in what has come to be called The Moynihan Report. Without suggesting specific solutions, he clearly identified the problem:
Moynihan saw the War on Poverty as a great opportunity. What happened instead? Welfare policies of the Johnson years, made it more profitable for black women to throw men out of the house because Uncle Sugar would pay more than their men could make. Teenagers who wanted out of the house could get benefits by having babies out of wedlock. Their little ones grew up without fathers and often without maternal supervision either. Gangs often take the place of families. The War on Poverty inflicted more damage on the black community which continues suffering from its effects to this day.
Lloyd Marcus was saved by a good father who did more for race relations than a hundred bills introduced in Congress.
It isn't the tea party conservatives who are racists and make race relations worse. It's liberal politicians who couldn't care less about minorities except when they can buy their votes on election day.

The Moynihan Report
Liberals are the real racists. Their policies have destroyed the black family. Daniel Patrick Moynihan identified the problem in 1965 in what has come to be called The Moynihan Report. Without suggesting specific solutions, he clearly identified the problem:
Three centuries of injustice have brought about deep-seated structural distortions in the life of the Negro American. At this point, the present tangle of pathology is capable of perpetuating itself without assistance from the white world. The cycle can be broken only if these distortions are set right.
In a word, a national effort towards the problems of Negro Americans must be directed towards the question of family structure. The object should be to strengthen the Negro family so as to enable it to raise and support its members as do other families. After that, how this group of Americans chooses to run its affairs, take advantage of its opportunities, or fail to do so, is none of the nation's business.
The fundamental importance and urgency of restoring the Negro American Family structure has been evident for some time. E. Franklin Frazier put it most succinctly in 1950:
"As the result of family disorganization a large proportion of Negro children and youth have not undergone the socialization which only the family can provide. The disorganized families have failed to provide for their emotional needs and have not provided the discipline and habits which are necessary for personality development. Because the disorganized family has failed in its function as a socializing agency, it has handicapped the children in their relations to the institutions in the community. Moreover, family disorganization has been partially responsible for a large amount of juvenile delinquency and adult crime among Negroes. Since the widespread family disorganization among Negroes has resulted from the failure of the father to play the role in family life required by American society, the mitigation of this problem must await those changes in the Negro and American society which will enable the Negro father to play the role required of him."61
Nothing was done in response to Frazier's argument. Matters were left to take care of themselves, and as matters will, grew worse not better. The problem is now more serious, the obstacles greater. There is, however, a profound change for the better in one respect. The President has committed the nation to an all out effort to eliminate poverty wherever it exists, among whites or Negroes, and a militant, organized, and responsible Negro movement exists to join in that effort.
Such a national effort could be stated thus:
The policy of the United States is to bring the Negro American to full and equal sharing in the responsibilities and rewards of citizenship. To this end, the programs of the Federal government bearing on this objective shall be designed to have the effect, directly or indirectly, of enhancing the stability and resources of the Negro American family.

Another Blockbuster ACORN Video - San Bernadino
Here's one more example of a stellar ACORN operative: are you starting to see the trend? It wasn't just an isolated case of a few bad eggs. In Baltimore, Brooklyn, San Bernadino, Washington, D.C. They all approve of: prostitution, tax evasion, fraudulent representation of illegal businesses, child sex abuse, human traficking. Is there anything these folks won't stoop to and condone? This is liberalism which believes there is no truth and man is the author of his own destiny (except for the abused children). Obviously, for this woman her destiny included killing her husband, but setting it up first, which proves premeditation. And she got away with it.
Remember, this is the community organizing network following Saul Alinsky's rules. The end justifies the means even when the means include turning little girls into child prostitutes and urging violence against them to get more money. Note the liberal politicians named in the video including Barbara Boxer, California senator.
Note as well her remark that "if they were liberal they would help you." This type of corruption is endemic to godless liberalism which champions individual autonomy. If you are your own god, you can do whatever you want.
Many Americans are living in a dream world, believing that there are no repercussions from the liberal philosophy. They think it means helping the downtrodden: getting the government to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, etc. Wake up, folks. Government charity is an oxymoron, a contradiction. Idealistic blindness is not a virtue. These liberals have raked in millions in government tax dollars often with liberal politicians enabling them! And Obama wanted them involved in the census? How would you like this woman knocking at the door and casing your property?
