Never Forget: Do Your Children Know What Happened on D-Day?

Today is the anniversary of the D-day invasion of France to begin retaking Western Europe from Hitler's Nazi troops. Do your children and grandchildren know what happened on this day in 1944? Probably not. So be sure to tell them.

War is hell. Pray for peace and for all our men and women serving in harm's way. And pray for those in leadership, especially those who think of our men and women as no more than cannon fodder for their political ambition. God have mercy on them.

And, finally, thank you, Lord, that Daddy survived the war to parent his first child and nine more and to raise them for Christ.

What Will It Take to Get This Traitor Impeached?

Releasing terrorists to attack us again is horrifying. Are most Americans so deadened by the Democrats' soma-laced goodies they can't see the treachery? Obama has endangered every American and made another 9/11 or Fort Hood or Boston Marathon bombing more likely by releasing these top-level terrorists. When will he answer for enabling the murder of Americans?

Allen West: The Case for Impeachment
Ladies and gentlemen, I submit that Barack Hussein Obama’s unilateral negotiations with terrorists and the ensuing release of their key leadership without consult — mandated by law — with the U.S. Congress represents high crimes and misdemeanors, an impeachable offense.
So I call upon the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives; Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to draft articles of impeachment as no one is above the law in America. The failure to do so speaks volumes.

It's First Friday - Good Day to Begin the Nine First Fridays Devotion

From the Catholic Culture website:
From the writings of St. Margaret Mary:
"On Friday during Holy Communion, He said these words to His unworthy slave, if I mistake not: I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that its all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on nine first Fridays of consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they will not die under my displeasure or without receiving their sacraments, my divine Heart making itself their assured refuge at the last moment."
With regard to this promise it may be remarked: (1) that our Lord required Communion to be received on a particular day chosen by Him; (2) that the nine Fridays must be consecutive; (3) that they must be made in honor of His Sacred Heart, which means that those who make the nine Fridays must practice the devotion and must have a great love for our Lord; (4) that our Lord does not say that those who make the nine Fridays will be dispensed from any of their obligations or from exercising the vigilance necessary to lead a good life and overcome temptation; rather He implicitly promises abundant graces to those who make the nine Fridays to help them to carry out these obligations and persevere to the end; (5) that perseverance in receiving Holy Communion for nine consecutive First Firdays helps the faithful to acquire the habit of frequent Communion, which our Lord eagerly desires; and (6) that the practice of the nine Fridays is very pleasing to our Lord since He promises such great reward, and that all Catholics should endeavor to make the nine Fridays.
What greater month to begin the nine first Fridays than the one dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. "O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine." For more on the Sacred Heart devotion go here.

The Fight is in the Church! The Culture IS the Problem! A Catholic Uprising Must Occur!

To get rid of a problem you need to first expose it. Watch these episodes of The Vortex to see the first 24 problems facing the Church that help to explain the collapse of faith around the country. And let's get busy promoting the truth!

Bob Dole: Pathetic on Many Fronts...

...but this just makes me sick. What an ingrate! Just goes to show that age doesn't necessarily bring wisdom. Between Dole's disgusting erectile dysfunction ads and his pandering he could be the poster boy for the pathetic Republican establishment. As a pro-life supporter, I apologize for Bob Dole's defense of the serial killer abortionist.

Join the Homosexual Bullies' Witch Hunt OR ELSE!

You will join the freedom of religion witch hunt ... or else

By Matt Bowman

First, same-sex marriage activists said you will be punished if you don't want to participate in a same-sex wedding (e.g., the New Mexicophotographer in Elane Photography v. Willock).
Then they said you'll be punished if you simply support the definition of marriage as a man and a woman (e.g., Brendan Eich, the Benham brothers).
But the same-sex marriage movement’s appetite for McCarthyism is insatiable. Now we’re learning that, even if you publicly support same-sex marriage, you’ll still be punished if you think other people should not be punished for believing marriage is between a man and a woman....

Pray Holy Innocents Stays Open and St. Francis Xavier Closes!

For more on St. Francis see this post.

Will It Never End? Homosexuality in the Church

Flaunting gay pride at homosexual parish of St. Francis
Nothing that happens in the Big Apple surprises me. Even the fact that its diseased fruit has apparently infected the Church. How else can one explain the planned closing of dozens of parishes including the only one in the diocese, Holy Innocents, that offers a daily TLM (Traditional Latin Mass) while a notorious homosexual parish remains open. Well, one recalls Cardinal Dolan applauding for the LGBT crowd when he visited for their rededication. (Go here.)  Their flaunting of their "gay" identity is scandalous. The photo shown here depicts the rainbow flag, a sign of LGBT activism and a celebration of homosexual lust. Yes, there is something definitely rotten in the Big Apple and in the Diocese of New York.

But no doubt Cardinal Dolan is probably too busy with the $175 million renovation of St. Patricks with the million dollar bronze doors to worry about the Jesuits enabling sodomy and lust at St. Francis. After all, as the Cardinal said in the video about the renovation, it's all in the tradition of St. Francis who was told by Christ to "rebuild my church." Funny, we thought Jesus was talking about the terrible collapse of the faith, not rebuilding with sticks and mortar. But we can all take comfort that, as the faith in New York City disappears (except for the LGBT Catholics flaunting their "pride"), there will be a beautiful cathedral to remind us of what used to be.

Yes, sadly the scandals go on. Take a look here. They are still protecting and moving dangerous priests.

Thank God for a Sensible Bishop: Two Thumbs Up for Bishop Barber!

Oakland's Bishop Barber defends personal-conduct standards for Catholic-school teachers

Now why would Catholic school teachers not expect to be held accountable if they commit public scandal? Hello! And for more on this good bishop go here. He recently removed an openly homosexual priest from the Berkley campus parish. High time a bishop took his duty to protect young people seriously.

A big thank you to Bishop Barber!

Evangelium Gaudium: Chapter IV

The Social Dimension of Evangelization

The first sentence of Chapter IV stresses Christ's call to the apostles to go forth and convert all nations. "To evangelize is to make the kingdom of God present in our world." What a mission - one that stretches from the first century to the twenty-first which, more than ever, remains in need of conversion!

When one thinks of all the places on earth where Christ is nearly invisible: Buddhist, Hindu, and Islamic countries, nations where Christianity is persecuted, Communist countries with struggling underground Christian churches, there is much work to be done and workers needed for the harvest.  It is a work that continues to be an "absolute priority of 'going forth from ourselves towards our brothers and sisters.'” Evangelization, then, is not merely an option, but the vocation of charity for every Christian believer and "one of the two great commandments which ground every moral norm."

I have always loved the image of the two beams of the cross that illustrate the two great commandments.
