  2. Regarding the election of “the next pope:” The Church is in a far worse condition than the news about the sex scandals suggests. If we believe the dogma of the faith which teaches us that heresy excommunicates “ispo facto,” as does membership or even collusion with Freemasonry, the Church has had nothing but Antipopes (invalid Popes) since the death of Pope Pius XII in 1958:

Pope Paul IV, Bull “Cum ex Apostolatus Officio”, Feb. 15, 1559: “6. In addition, [by this Our Constitution, which is to remain valid in perpetuity, We enact, determine, decree and define:] that if ever at any time it shall appear that any Bishop, even if he be acting as an Archbishop, Patriarch or Primate; or any Cardinal of the aforesaid Roman Church, or, as has already been mentioned, any legate, or even the Roman Pontiff, prior to his promotion or his elevation as Cardinal or Roman Pontiff, has deviated from the Catholic Faith or fallen into some heresy: (i) the promotion or elevation, even if it shall have been uncontested and by the unanimous assent of all the Cardinals, shall be null, void and worthless; (ii) it shall not be possible for it to acquire validity (nor for it to be said that it has thus acquired validity) through the acceptance of the office, of consecration, of subsequent authority, nor through possession of administration, nor through the putative enthronement of a Roman Pontiff, or Veneration, or obedience accorded to such by all, nor through the lapse of any period of time in the foregoing situation; (iii) it shall not be held as partially legitimate in any way…
(vi) those thus promoted or elevated shall be deprived automatically, and without need for any further declaration, of all dignity, position, honour, title, authority, office and power… 7. Finally, [by this Our Constitution, which is to remain valid in perpetuity, We] also [enact, determine, define and decree]: that any and all persons who would have been subject to those thus promoted or elevated if they had not previously deviated from the Faith, become heretics, incurred schism or provoked or committed any or all of these, be they members of anysoever of the following categories: (i) the clergy, secular and religious; (ii) the laity; (iii) the Cardinals [etc.]… shall be permitted at any time to withdraw with impunity from obedience and devotion to those thus promoted or elevated and to avoid them as warlocks, heathens, publicans, and heresiarchs (the same subject persons, nevertheless, remaining bound by the duty of fidelity and obedience to any future Bishops, Archbishops, Patriarchs, Primates, Cardinals and Roman Pontiff canonically entering).

Vatican II and the Vatican II establishment taught what the Church has condemned in the past, suppressed Catholic doctrine and have contradicted Sacred Scripture. That certainly constitutes heresy. For example:
    - Ecumenism was condemned by Pope Pius XI in Mortalium Animos as “tantamount to abandoning the religion revealed by God (2).” Religious liberty was condemned by several popes, most notably by Pope Pius IX in Quanta Cura. The new theology was condemned by Pope St. Pius X in Pascendi. The latter issued a “Moto Proprio” on Nov. 18, 1907 excommunicating those who contradict “Pascendi” and the decree “Lamentabili,” which the establishment of Vatican II certainly does.
    - Cardinal Ratzinger now Benedict XVI called Vatican II document Gaudium et Spes a counter-Syllabus (that is, an opposition to The Syllabus of Errors by Pope Pius IX):

We better get ready for the “Three Days of Darkness” prophecied by so many saints, because that’s the only remedy for the great disaster we’re in, which was prophecied by Our Lady of La Salette who said: “Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of Antichrist.” And by the “Third Secret of Fatima.”

  3. I'm not sure that every papal encyclical is infallible in all its elements and statements. And what I've read about the problematic element of Vatican II is the fact that it is sometimes (not sure of the right word) vague. It allowed for misinterpretation.

Fr. John Hardon, S.J. praised Vatican II, specifically recommending that catechists study Lumen Gentium and Gaudiem et Spes. http://www.therealpresence.org/archives/Holy_Spirit/Holy_Spirit_009.htm To be honest, I trust Fr. Hardon more than an anonymous Vatican II critic on a blog who appears to embrace the sedevacantist position.

It seems to me to conflict with Christ's promise to be with His Church to believe that he abandoned us in 1958 when Pope Pius XII died. I will stick with Peter.
